We don't sell fuel or offer services beyond camping so we primarily have only air traffic with few to no landings each year. The history of the Pump House began in 1878, when three ambitious men hatched a plan for the world's first long-distance underground oil pipeline which would transport oil from well to refinery more quickly and efficiently than the horse-drawn wagons of the time. Pumping stations were needed every fifty miles along this long route to keep pressure on the pipeline so that the oil could reach its destination. Pump House Bed and Breakfast is one of the only properties in the country in which the both the original homes of the foremen and the large brick buildings remain. Doug, owner, has spent more than 20 years lovingly restoring these foreman houses as well as the large industrial brick buildings. The Brick Barn Hall once housed steam pumps to pressurize the pipe and keep the oil moving, and the Catawissa Cabin behind it served as the telegraph office. The Studio Hall contained boilers that produced the steam to power the pumps, while the adjoining Studio Cabin functioned as a blacksmith's workspace. Today, the buildings function as reception spaces for weddings and other special events, and house private suites as well as an art studio where Doug pursues his work and teaches drawing, ceramics, and stained glass classes. All four campsites have creek access and come with picnic table garbage can and fire ring and Firewood is usually available. There are two Porta potty‘s one located at each end of the sites. There are trails for hiking which extends along an abandoned railroad bed and also up into State game lands and into the deep woods. The hiking in the woods is on an incline. But the hiking on the railroad bed is pretty unintense. There is parking at each site. The sites are spread out along the creek bed ranging from more of a rustic primitive tent camping on site 4 to an open site on site 1.

Please let us know as soon as possible so we can have the futon available for your stay. Glamping here is fantastic! You will have a private outdoor shower to use right next to the Hut. Biodegradable body wash, shampoo, conditioner, hand soap/dish soap is provided and we ask that you use the provided products to help us protect our natural surroundings - especially the creek. Please keep in mind that water provided to the shower and outdoor sink is not drinkable (not potable), however, we do provide water for drinking/cooking/brushing teeth that is from a 5 gallon bottle with pump dispenser. A separate toilet room is available right next to the hut as well. It is equipped with a bucket toilet which requires eco- bags and kitty litter (both provided). The full bags are then tied and disposed of in a larger outdoor trash can just outside. Use the fire pit just outside the hut for grilling or use the gas grill with burner that faces the creek. Basic kitchen supplies are provided (please refer to pictures for details). There is also a picnic bench facing the creek. Walk the trail through the property and enjoy the cool shade. Pack a picnic and enjoy eating on the moss covered boulders next to the water, play games in the yard, snooze in a hammock, meditate by the creek or take a swim in the swimming hole. Enjoy privacy while in the hut, or join us on our morning chores (we live in a house on the property), by feeding the animals and gathering fresh eggs. During the day, cross the bridge over the creek to get to the beautifully maintained Conewago Recreation Trail where you can walk or ride bikes. Our rural setting is a relaxing spot to stay after a day of seeing the sites or visiting Hershey Park just 15 minutes away. We are 10 minutes to the train station which will take you to all the surrounding major cities - DC, NY, Philly and others for a day trip too! Experience a bit of history while staying in the Shepherd's Hut. The houses, grist mill and bank barn were built with sandstone brought to the property by wagonloads in the 1770's. Just think! This homestead was built before the Declaration of Independence was signed and the Revolutionary War began! Stay in or explore the 40 acres of property consisting of woodlands, creek and farmland. Everything was awesome. The little cabin stayed so warm and was the perfect size for our family of three plus our doggo! The land was beautiful. Theresa and her husband were both so kind. We loved meeting their farm of animals. And she was easy to get a hold of and easy to chat with. We will definitely be going back. The porta potty is a short walk and they are working on a bunch of upgrades in the cabin too. The emus are wonderful and sweet, we visited them multiple times a day. I could go on and on. 100% recommended for an upgraded camping experience. Look forward to trying them out in warmer weather too!

Our time in the treehouse was magical. It was my 13 year old son and I. He is 6’1” and he was able to comfortably sleep in the loft. Bill and everyone at Fairview Farms was welcoming, friendly and helpful. The stargazing was phenomenal; I highly recommend a dip in the hot tub under the stars. I would recommend bringing a heated blanket in the colder months. I brought ours and it was the perfect mix of cold and snuggly warm. There is a heater that works like a charm, with the blanket we only used it during the day.

I love spending time at Craig's property. This was my second visit and somehow it was better than the first trip which was amazing. We weren't able to paddle bc the creek was down, and it wasn't impactful to our fun at all. Just book it! And if you can check out the nearby dirt race track BAPS, fun for kids and adults alike.

I really loved the place and the experience, the bed very comfortable and Theresa very kind and attentive. Definitely a place you want to visit if you need to think, write, get your mind together. Will be coming back !

Weekend Trip to Mulberry Acres

Came for an event in Lewisburg and stayed here for the weekend, what a wonderful secluded site, lots of animals and dogs added to the charm! I wish I had more time to tour the farm and meet all the animals, I will have to come back. Highly recommend buying firewood from the farm if you plan on having a fire as it burned nicely.

4 nights at Juniata River RV/Camper Lot

We came back for another stay at Riverside RV Camper Site, and it was just as peaceful and relaxing as we remembered. We enjoyed daily walks along the rarely traveled road that winds along the river. Evenings were spent relaxing by the fire watching the trains off in the distance. It’s a great location for exploring nearby towns like Belleville, Reedsville, and Lewistown, all offering great little shops, restaurants, and local attractions. The campground itself remains clean, quiet, and well-kept. If you’re looking for a relaxing place to stay with easy access to small-town charm and scenic views, Riverside RV is a wonderful choice.

Wonderful stay! Clear communication from host from start to finish. Cleanly space which was so cute, and a bonus of the literal cleanest porta potties I’ve ever experienced. The grounds were beautiful with enough privacy and space. Highly recommend!
