Our beautiful forested land is located in Southern Oregon, in a small town off the 199 Redwood Highway. The land which we call home is 100 acres of beautiful protected forest and sits upon a mile of the Illinois River.
We are very fortunate to be surrounded by a widely diverse population of flora and fauna. As caretakers of this sacred land, we feel a strong responsibility to honor our plant and animal allies by not only protecting them and their habitat, but also to help educate others about what lives and grows here by providing people with opportunities to experience the beauty of these plants and animals for themselves. Located between Portland and Mt. Hood, Camp Cedar Creek is a peaceful retreat tucked into a creek valley just off Highway 26. Only six minutes from downtown Sandy, but feels worlds away.
Our 37-acre property features Cedar Creek, ponds, trails, and meadows. While we have a handful of sites that comfortably accommodate 2-4 guests, many of our most popular sites are ideal for families, friend groups, and gatherings looking for space to spread out.
Cool off in the creek, hike the trails, pick blackberries when they're in season. Whether you're road-tripping through the Pacific Northwest, working remotely from your van, or simply seeking a quiet weekend outdoors, there's a place for you here.
We acknowledge that Camp Cedar Creek is on the traditional homelands of Indigenous peoples including the Multnomah, Wasco, and Molalla, and the Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs and Grand Ronde. We are grateful to care for this land and ask guests to treat it with respect.
**IMPORTANT POLICIES**
4WD/AWD REQUIRED PAST THE BARN: Only AWD and 4WD vehicles may access the creekside campground. Guests with 2WD vehicles may park in the entry lot.
NO TRAILERS: Due to steep hills, sharp turns, and damage cawe no longer accommodate trailers or tow-behind campers.
PACK IN, PACK OUT: Please take all trash and recycling with you when you leave.
DOGS: Dogs are welcome throughout the property. Off-leash dogs are permitted in the creekside campground and must be leashed around the Blue Barn.

Once a dairy farm and part of the old Simpson estate our property offers mushroom picking seasonally whey you may find Chanterelle & Hedgehog mushrooms.
We're close to the beach and the Sunset Bay Golf Course is on the same property.
Lots of hiking trails and you can connect with Sunset Bay State Park our neighbor.
We have a private, secluded campground that is wind sheltered with approximately 20 acres of space in which to use our covered table, picnic tables, fire pit, fire rings at individual campsites, BBQ, sauna and outdoor propane-fired shower.
The camp area is tucked away among large spruce trees and open meadows which lead to endless trails on the property, with the option to buy a round of golf at Sunset Bay Golf Course, which is right next door to the camp area.
We’re just short of a mile from Sunset Bay, where you will find kayaking, fishing and a great spot for kids.
The Whiskey Run mountain bike trails are a short drive away and are truly world-class trails. The Sunset Bay State Park has a huge trail network that spans the cliff line all the way from Sunset Bay to Cape Arago.
Chuck’s Seafood in Charleston is a great spot to pick up local seafood.
BBQ some oysters on the grill or pick up some fresh fish and enjoy the bounty of the coast.
Charleston, just 3.5 miles away, also has some great restaurants and local shops to truly make your stay memorable.

Weekend Trip to Hobson Meadows
I only stayed for one night, but I had a great time. The land is very quiet compared to the bustle of the city and it is a nice change of scenery. There was a good amount of space between sites and the facilities were well maintained. The noises of nature are also very nice, went to sleep to the sound of frogs and woke up to the sound of the birds.

2 nights at sol duc rainforest retreat
We pulled into Logan’s piece of rainforest in the evening and knew right away this place is not your average Hipcamp. They’ve created something special working within the forest instead of just clearing it and putting up some tents. Paths wander through the woods to special secluded coffee spots and to the well appointed shared outdoor kitchen area. It has a sort of hostel in the woods feel. You can have a fire with your coffee in the morning. Logan is a woodworker and an artist. There are sculptures and hangout niches throughout the woods so you can visit with others or find your own quiet place.
We stayed in a Kodiak tent which was clean and had a small space heater to take the cold edge off. There are other small cabins worth investigating too.
Location is right off a long biking/ walking path and close to hot springs and the Storm King hike.

We arrived at sunset as the stained glass caught the light. The cabin felt like walking into a whimsical cathedral and was a very unique and charming experience. You can tell Rochelle has put really mindful thought, work, passion, and intent into it. Everything was clean, restroom facilities nearby, blow torch to start the wood-burning stove, and cozy ambiance. We did get a little bit of smoke from the stove indoors (although I think this comes with the territory) and no clear access to an outdoor fire pit. However, be sure to step outside first thing in the morning and enjoy the choir of birds - it’s a pure delight.

Weekend Trip to Compass Rose Farms
The farm was really cute and amazing. Our 9 month old daughter loved getting to see all the animals running around, especially the really friendly dogs. Kateen was an amazing host. Very responsive and gave a really lovely tour of the farm and explaining different aspects of the business. It was really cool to get a chance to talk to her in more detail about them. The you pick vegetables was a great touch even in May!
The communal parts of the farm were really a nice touch. It was great getting to meet the other campers over food. You felt connected without being on top of each other.
Would definitely come again!

Weekend Trip to Compass Rose Farms
Excellent for eco-friendly thinkers + animal lovers alike! This site is very sustainable and Earth conscious. Gorgeous views from Sunrise to Sunset. The dogs are so freaking cute and great with babies/kids! They really thought of everything to provide the best “glamping” experience. Hot shower, stove burners, electricity, and potable well water. Kateen is an organized host.
Consider this your best choice if you want to connect with nature and people. This is a VERY social experience. Not the most private space if that is what you’re looking for. Great for people looking to connect with other glampers.
As expected for such a beautiful property, there are lots of posted set rules for everyone. One that was tough to get around was no camp stoves, candles, or fire of any kind near your site. Cooking is done in one central shared area away from camping sites.
This is perfect if you want to take the load off of packing your car to the brim with camping gear. Not ideal if you’re looking for more independence and “going off grid.”
Overall, lovely experience and everything was made easy. I would still visit again and share this with friends. Worth spending a day to explore 40 acres of beautiful country.

I had such a fun time here! felt so welcomed and truly enjoyed my stay(: legendary stories to be had in a place such as this. right in the middle of nearly everything olympic has to offer so the location is incredible as well! truly loved this place and will definitely be back(: strawberries abundant!

I loved the tent. Pond is serene. The quit around fills the every gaps of heart.
Dogs are friendly and awesome, feels like our won.
Matt was great, gave us woods and made us feel comfortable.
