Long Beach Peninsula has been a family vacation destination for a long time and there's so much fun to be had on every inch of land! Located centrally between Leadbetter Point and Cape Disappointment, we have 16 full hookup RV sites (30 amp power/water/septic/Wifi) close enough to enjoy the fun of Long Beach and Ocean Park, but far enough to retreat to your camp for quiet and relaxation. Batwater Station is located halfway between Portland and the Oregon Coast on the Columbia River. A private refuge where river otter, beaver, mink, muskrat, seals, raccoons along with threatened Columbia river white tailed deer can be seen. Property has 1,000 feet of boat docks, river deck, and pier. At the pier is a full kitchen, heated bathroom and shower room. Included are 2 outhouses, a fire pit for summer months, a viewing station overlooking the wetlands along with brick charcoal fired barbecue and another propane barbecue. We are committed to your privacy so guests are limited and spread out. High speed internet through out the property. Batwater worked with several agencies when we breeched a levee and flooded 26 acres for salmon and wildlife habitat. Hike along the wetlands and see beaver dams and dens. Batwater is also home for many types of birds including eagles, osprey, tree swallow, purple martins, barn swallows, wood ducks, common and hooded mergansers, mallards, scoots, scaups, grebes, cormorants, great egrets, blue herons, geese and many types of song birds . In the spring and summer see our returning osprey who have. nested on our dock since 2013. There are now 2 osprey platform since a pair of Canada geese choose that as their nesting site as well. Some bald eagles winter here but we have our resident bald eagles Hep and Hope. They arrived in 2003 to start their nest on Crims Island. They still nest there although there old nest tree collapsed in 2020. Many birds migrate here for the winter. Common mammals are river otter, mink, muskrat, raccoons, nutria, coyotes, black tailed and threatened Colombia White Tailed deer. We also are home to native turtles and frogs. Batwater is a working farm with cattle feeding on lush pastures, 2 retired horses and chickens. When eggs are available, we will share some with you. Batwater is a great place to kayak, canoe, paddle board or row during the summer months. We have windy afternoons for windsurfers or sailors. The Columbia River is well known for salmon, and sturgeon. For an extra fee you can moor your larger boat while visiting. There are a volley ball and badminton set ups along with horse shoes during the summer months. We suggest swimming during the summer months when the tide is coming in or slack. You can also walk or drive down to Mayger beach which is popular with locals. There are sandy beaches on Crims island that you can paddle over too. Check out the pictures for more information.

This campsite is rather large and is perfect for an RV. There is gravel under the grass. Lots of sun but no shade. This site can also get quite windy in the afternoon. This site is on the river and has 110 electricity and water. You have to back in or out.

4 nights at Batwater Station on Columbia River

We had a lovely stay on Karin's property! The RV spot sat right on the river with plenty of privacy, but still close to the bathroom/shower and kitchen area. Everyone was very friendly and happy to suggest things to do and see and the property had everything we needed! We loved swimming off of the dock, paddleboarding and watching the wildlife around the property. Very relaxing spot and would definitely come back to stay again.

Definitely a must camp here! End of September so everyone just had been there for fishing season. Pretty much had the place to ourself. Everyone here is so welcoming and kind, we had full hook ups a few steps away from river and lots of land to have peaceful hikes. There a little house with just a full kitchen, washer and dryer and bathrooms even with a shower. A quick 35min drive from Astoria which we spent one of our days at. The lady assisting the owner was so kind to give my kids a golf cart tour of the dry camping area and were the walking trails are at. They loved it!!! Everything very well managed and cared for here. I do like to be able to drop trash instead of haul it back but not a deal breaker we will definitely be back.

Absolutely perfect. The upper area for our trailer was level and easy to maneuver. The lower area was like off-leash heaven for our dogs. We didn't see another human the entire time. Extremely relaxing, and the hosts set up several areas to enjoy. 100% recommend this spot!

Cedar and Surf has been marvelous to our family twice this summer and I highly recommend them to anyone with littles or just a desire to enjoy camping or rv-ing with access to the cleanest campsite bathroom I’ve ever experienced and consistent warm water. A small laundry room made the beach (which was within walking distance) so much less stressful with my chaotic little one who went through half their clothes in one day. The rec room with fridge and freezer and sink for dish washing is a lovely touch as well that made keeping our gear tidy much less of a chore. Thank you Sylvana and Al for making our Labor Day a wonderful and comfortable family adventure!

Very private spot and very quiet. Big area to maneuver our travel trailer. Hook ups were a plus, adapters were provided and easily accessible. We enjoyed the view of the river from the upper site and also close up down right next to it. Trish was very responsive. We will go again when we can. We plan to bring our daughters and let them stay in the on-site trailer. it would be a great place for a family gathering.

Weekend Trip to Otter Pond Riverfront Getaway

Our stay at Trish’ was so relaxing , beautiful, fun, and enjoyable! She was the ultimate host! We had complete privacy, and she welcomed us warmly when we asked if we could visit with her at her nearby home. She left eggs, butter, firestarters, and snacks for us in her beautiful, completely renovated trailer! We camped in our own RV; she had full hook-ups for us! We floated down the river, then hung out in the water for several hours. We stayed cool in the 90 degree heat (there was a heat wave in Washington while we visited). This campsite was pristine, had a great view, and had wonderful outside seating, and a cool fire pit. We’ll be back!

We camped in our 30 ft coleman. We had a blast with the quick dune walk to the beach with out kids. The only thing I'd say is our spot was tight and didn't allow for our truck to fit there well. All the amenities were amazing clean and very apparently looked after well! My kiddos wishes they had their bikes if we stayed longer! definitely will next time!

We had a great time camping in our travel trailer and fishing. The hostess was wonderful and she made us feel very welcome, gave us a personal tour of the best spots to fish. The flushing toilets and hot showers were a definite bonus. Everyone in the family had a good time.

6 nights at Otter Pond Riverfront Getaway

Best HipCamp Ever! We stayed for almost a week and it was wonderful. Our rig is a 26' travel trailer and we fit perfectly. We had friends join us for a couple days and stay in the vintage trailer on the property. It was an ideal situation. We work from the road and used Starlink while on the property and it worked awesome. No issues at all. Trish and Kary are the best hosts and don't miss a single detail. We can't wait to return in the future!
