Quiet with fenced acreage for our two dogs meant good sleeping and peace of mind with the dogs off leash. The hookups were clean and reliable. Friendly neighbors and good restaurants close by. I initially thought it was a bit far from the city but really the access to Hwy 99 was an ideal boulevard/conduit to the city! Great launchpad to many areas. We will definitely be back.

We tent camped on one of the RV sites (Potbelly 2) so we could drive up, and we had a fantastic time. Our 3-yr old twins LOVED getting to meet and feed the farm animals, and the people who live on site were very friendly and welcoming. The outdoor bathroom was the cleanest I’ve ever experienced and only a few minutes walk from our site. The showers were a nice feature as well!

This place is absolutely amazing. Gorgeous little creek that has small cascading waterfalls all the way down. Short, but steep hike up to the cabin.
Pack only the essentials.
You were just a short driveway from Great restaurants and a grocery store would definitely stay here again 10 out of 10 recommend.

Weekend Trip to The Shire
We stayed at the Shire for four nights. This place is very serene with trees around each site. We found it to be very peaceful and private. So much better than staying in a huge RV parking lot! We will definitely stay here the next trip to Washington!

I loved staying in my trailer at The Shire. It was a hidden gem, very close to Battle Ground (any store and restaurant you might need), but you feel tucked away in another world with the trees around you and the huge field across from you. It was very nice having full electric hookups, water and WiFi as well. I ended up using the AC in August, and modern conveniences are always nice when you still have to vist the real world occasionally.

Weekend Trip to Crystal Creek Cabin
Were do I begin? This place was amazing. With a teen off to visit family my husband and I wanted a weekend getaway with the dogs. I’m not sure how we got lucky to find this gem last minute but I’m glad we did. One of our dogs can be a little leash reactive so to find a place where he can roam off leash is so wonderful. The dogs loved roaming around while we enjoyed the outdoors.
Don’t be me. I overpacked and wore Arizona Birkenstocks thinking short steep hike, pssshh I’ll be fine! Instead I turned back to the truck and put on trail runners. Pack a day pack with just your essentials and another backpack cooler with food. That’s all you will need! We were pleasantly surprised to find lanterns, coffee fixings and water.
My even keel husband rarely outwardly expresses impression. He had so many good things to say about this place, including the peacefulness, down to the quality of the build. Having built a few things in my day, curiousity got the best of me on how the materials we brought it, would love to see a little book on “how the little cabin came to be”.
We will be back! Maybe next time without dogs so we can enjoy the hot tub, looked like an epic experience!
We did try to find the hike to the falls but the path wasn’t super clear and I didn’t want to intrude on anyone’s space.

Great location with a cabin perched above a fern lined creek back in the woods. Clear directions and flawless check in. Cabin a big comfortable bed with plenty of blankets and was furnished with the basics, including five gallons of water. Easy access to the creek for getting your feet wet and letting the dog splash around in a really serene environment. Didn't meet the owners, but their big friendly dogs came around to say hi, which our dog loved. Very spotty cell and internet service, which can be a plus sometimes. Walk up is a relatively short graveled path but had a couple of steep parts so watch your step and bring shoes with a good tread.

Peaceful and quiet spot with water and electric hookups. A previous review caused me concern by stating it was closer to the owners residence than they expected. I found that critique inaccurate. The site is at least 100 yards from the residence and it is surrounded on three sides with thick brush and trees. We had a pleasant night's stay and the owner gave a recommendation where we could get a good meal and a beer. It did not disappoint.

2 nights at Crystal Creek Cabin
This cabin is so peaceful. My husband and I had a wonderful 2 nights without our children at this romantic spot. Very private. Easy to get to. Great directions and information. We hope to come back many more times. It is a really a special place next to a stream with a waterfall. The cabin is perfectly placed and beautifully built. You can tell the owners pay attention to all the little details to give this rustic cabin all the comforts and cuteness of the cabin of your dreams. Weekend Trip to Crystal Creek Cabin
This was a great weekend getaway! Hike in was steep, about 10 minutes. Definitely pack only the essentials. Cabin is equipped with adequate lanterns, blankets, firewood, fire starts and lighters. Host if very thoughtful in things left inside the cabin. A small mirror for doing makeup, coffee and drip cloth for pour in, a small kettle for warming liquids. Soap for washing hands or doing dishes. Blankets for lounging inside or out. Every detail considered! Be sure to wear shoes with good traction for walking to and front cabin. The downhill going out can be tricky. Would 10/10 recommend. Creek sounds made for a cozy night sleep with the windows open. Temperatures were in the 80’s - 90’s and we stayed plenty cool in the shade of the trees.

This is one of the best Hip camp sites that I've stayed at. There is plenty of open space but also there are plenty of trees for privacy. It gives the feel of camping out in nature but it's also very close to Vancouver and Portland. The trees did block my Starlink a little but it was good enough for emails and I had good cell coverage for T Mobile and Verizon so this is a nice place for remote work.

Loved the camp site there was plenty of room. Beautiful view of the meadow. We had a camper at next camp spot they waved when we drove by. Friendly . The place was easy to find and was out in country but close to a town. Really super quiet! Almost too quiet for my group lol loved the beautiful view . Would recommend this camp to anyone who is traveling Washington state. Great place friendly quiet beautiful views.

3 nights at Crystal Creek Cabin
My fifth trip to this amazing cabin and I’m sure we will be back. The definition of heaven on earth. If you need to unplug and unwind this is your spot. 100% private but not scary remote (owners and others homes on the property but very spread out), natural white noise to ensure you sleep like a baby brought to you by a beautiful cabin side waterfall, and the most thoughtful and expertly build cozy cabin we’ve ever stayed in. The trek in from parking is short but steep. We recommend you backpack in with only the essentials. Enjoyed every minute!

We love it here. Close to visit the sights around town Vancouver Washington and Portland, Oregon.
Shaynel's are very helpful and got back to us very quickly when we had questions. We did decided to extend our stay with them. Their driveway is gated but it's very easy to come and go as you need to. There's a state park, a short distance away. You can take your trailer to empty your tanks for five bucks. It's easy.

Scrumpy Forest Farm is straight-up magical. Paula is a generous and kind host who made us feel right at home. She welcomed us to her beautiful land, helped us settle in, and shared the farm’s magic. The Quidditch field was perfect for our group campout: open enough to stargaze, yet surrounded by trees that made the space feel wild, safe, and tucked away from the world.
The cozy kitchen had everything we needed—and honestly, I caught myself wishing it was my everyday kitchen. We even got to build chickadee birdhouses as a little nature craft project, which was such a fun bonus. And Etta the dog was adorable.
Scrumpy Forest is one of those rare places that feels grounded and enchanting at the same time. Whether you’re visiting for a campout, a project, or one of their community events, I’d 100% recommend it.

We did a last minute booking to Shaynel’s property and she was able to accommodate. Upon arrival we needed a code for security gate and entered no problem. The site was perfect for us, didn’t have power right away but Shaynel’s husband Ben came right out to turn on breaker. Would absolutely recommend great communication and very nice people.
