Hideouts HipCamp Review I loved this place! Partly the location and partly the very nice people there. About the location: it's not for everyone,; it is a bit of a drive including 5 miles on a scrabble road that is fine. But you get out and away from everyone and into a beautiful spot with a great view. It’s also rather rustic that I like that soon they will have a bath house and it’ll be different. There’s an example of how they were nice to me: I am 72 years old and have some mobility issues. they were very cognizant of it and helped me get around a little bit. That was very sweet. I would come back every year if I could.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen better views from a camp spot. Completely epic views, make sure to ask the hosts about the lookout spot from the nearby top of the mountain - stunning. There’s also a nearby hike to a gorgeous waterfall, definitely plan an afternoon for that!

I've had the best time staying on this beautiful mountain with these wonderful people. There is absolutely nothing like waking up to mountain sunrises, and taking a dip in the cool creek after hiking on a hot day. This place is very special, and it's not just due to the breathtaking views. It's also because of the people there whose goal is to make it feel like both home and a new adventure all at once. I look forward to many many more trips back!

The campsite itself gave stunning views of the night sky (we spotted the Milky Way and a shooting star!) We wished we had stayed longer so that we had more time to explore the area! This spot is definitely a hidden gem! From incredible star-gazing to a beautiful sunrise, this spot is perfect for the view-seekers. Kat and her partner were such gracious hosts, thinking of the little things to help make us comfortable. They made themselves available if we needed anything throughout our stay as well. They have a little piece of heaven tucked away in the mountains of southern Oregon and they’re dedicated to making it as special as possible! Getting to the Hipcamp is a little tricky even with detailed instructions so definitely give yourself time to get there as they are still working to perfect the off-grid navigation.

I had the pleasure of being one of the first guests to stay at this beautiful property. The hosts, Colman and Kat, are in the process of developing the property to turn it into a campground with all the amenities. I enjoyed hearing about their future plans. My tent site had an amazing view of Mt. McLoughlin. The nearby waterfall and swimming hole are stunning. The road is rough so you definitely need an AWD or 4WD to get there. I will definitely be back in the future and can't wait to see the future development of the property!

We loved staying at the cabin! It’s super nice, clean and modern and the loft bed was really cool. The bathroom is a half-minute walk from the cabin, super close, clean and updated looking. Gravel/ dirt road for about 30 minutes of the 45 minute drive off the highway to get to the property, would not recommend 2WD like I had but I still made it and man was that view worth it! Fantastic hosts and property!! They’re putting a lot of work in to cleaning up the land to eventually become a campground but even as is I would go back time and time again.

The cabin was comfortable and the loft serene. We slept like babes and enjoyed the double rainbow in the sky. The outdoor seating area was pleasant and the lighting outside was a nice touch. The compost toilet worked well. My wife liked the bathhouse. We hope to return.

This is such a great stop on the way to SF from Portland! Hands down much more enjoyable and authentic than staying in a cheesy hotel off the interstate. The cabin was very well done with lots of cute touches, an incredible view to enjoy sunset and sunrise, and welcoming dogs on top of it all! Also, the bathhouse might be my favorite hipcamp bathhouse yet. Highly recommend one night or more if you’re staying in Ashland or just stopping on your way through to somewhere else.

Beautiful views. The stars at night were an awesome bonus. Cute little cabin get away with some friendly sheep close by. Just what my little family needed. The cabin was cozy. And thank the Gods for the AC unit. It was a hot stay, but that kept us comfortable. We enjoyed the crickets at night, and heard some coyote near by. Our first morning we were greeted by a sweet doe munching on her breakfast. The outside seating area was a nice place to relax and play some games together. The fire pit is an added bonus for night time relaxing.

What a view and a hidden gem, truly. It's the early days for these camp hosts, and they have already poured so much of their hearts and souls into this breathtaking land. We had a killer spot, with unobstructed views of Mt McLoughlin, the canyon, and the Milky Way filled night sky. Peace abounds here, as did the hospitality from hosts Kat and Colman. They have a vision for all that the place will become, and it feels really special to have gotten to stay at The Hideouts and support that vision as it becomes reality. Kat and Cameron were accommodating, communicative, and welcoming from our first HipCamp message, to our arrival, and all the way through to our departure. Our trip down the canyon to hike to the waterfall was well worth the drive. 4WD required! Next time, we'll do the canyon hike as well. Don't miss this spot - a little slice of heaven far away from distractions.

This adorable cabin was just what our family needed! Cara has added many thoughtful details, including everything we needed for coffee in the mornings and cold beverages waiting for us in the fridge when we arrived. She had made up the futon as bed before we checked in so that everything was ready for the four of us to stay. The bath house is a short walk from the cabin and is thoughfully detailed. Hipcampers should note that this stay is a little on the rustic side (cabin reached by short path going up hill), but also extremely clean, cute as a button, and the hosts responds within minutes to any question or request.

When you work and play as a team. Camp Kool doesn't begin to describe the beautiful nuances and touches to their space, a space both functional and slot of fun! The love and care that radiates from their bright and covertly holistic designs welcomes the senses instantly. I found that through this one experience and my appreciation for both hospitality of this beautiful family, and I mean every member, and my experience in the customer service/ hospitality industry for almost 30 years has had shown me that creating experiences and community is the true heart of the service industry.
