5 nights at Baumgartens VW Krankenhaus

Such nice people! If you travel alone like I do and are looking for a safe place to affordably stay the night, this is the place to do it! I like to do city tours, but can't afford hotels, so I usually find a place to camp outside the city and do city tours during the day. I stayed a couple of nights at the Baumgartens Pine Tree Corner while I visited Oklahoma City during the day. They have a clean, fully functioning bathroom with a shower for camper use. Everyone in the area is friendly and I could set up near the garage where there are cameras if I choose, so I always felt like my tent and things were safe while I was gone during the day. Mark and Angela gave me lots of space and privacy, but we're very responsive to all my texts and questions. Highly recommend!

We loved this spot! Our hosts were very welcoming and greeted us on arrival, even when we got delayed in our travels and showed up later than expected. Very easy pull in spot. Had the amenities as advertised. The view was perfect of the lake. With a dock and a firepit that you could utilize. There are two other houses on this property, so you could rent them for a family reunion or other large gathering. But also note because of this that you may be sharing the ‘land’ with other guests if they have them rented to other parties. Which was not the case for us, and I do not think it would have bothered us if they were rented because of how nice everything thing else was. Great first experience in our RV!

3 nights at Heavener Runestone Park

We stayed at site #2 and we had an incredible time! It was just the get away we were hoping for and then some. The view from our site was breathtaking, the history of the park was enchanting, and the nature surrounding us was relaxing to say the least. And even with all of that, our attention was often drawn to an unexpected visitor, Stoney the park cat🤍 We would definitely recommend this campground to anyone who is looking to get away for a few days. Tips: Harps in town has great groceries in case you forget anything, stake your tent if you stay on the cliff side in case of occasional wind gusts, and be sure to bring Stoney some milk

Weekend Trip to Heavener Runestone Park

Tent camping at Heavener #10 was a dream. It’s very secluded and felt private. The ground is rocky and the tent pad is cement. I wish there was more of a grassy area to hangout in. The facilities are very nice and felt like a resort considering it’s a campsite. The trail is nice and the Runestone is so cool. We will definitely be returning soon.

Hadley Lake was SUCH a nice campground! Kristen was so accommodating and helpful during our stay for the BFO concert in April 2025! If we ever find ourselves back in Stillwater, I know where we’ll be sleeping!

Excellent little spot, we had originally planned to be staying Friday night and Saturday night, but plans got shuffled and made it to the campground Saturday Morning. Staff was great and we were able to upgrade to a full hookup site vs the dry camp we had originally reserved. 5 Star Review here from the Boys from Maine that came all the way to see The Boys from Oklahoma!

A+ hospitality from booking right up to our departure. Hosts provided excellent directions and oriented us to the property, telling us about the lake and fauna. The RV pad is perfectly level and amenities (electricity, water, sewage) are right at hand. The lakeside setting is lovely, and pops up as a surprise after winding along ranch roads from the interstate. Hearing the birds in the morning and seeing a big flock of white pelicans on the lake were icing on the cake.

This 55 acre park is home of a large sandstone that contains 8 markings believed to have been made by Vikings many years ago. The park features a seasonal waterfall, covered picnic areas, playground, amphitheater with seating, community building, scenic views, gift shop and approximately 2 miles of nature trails. Be advised that most tent sites have a tent pad but a few are primitive. The one RV site is for 16 ft. or less vehicles and smaller teardrop trailers with limited hook-up and no dump station. Restroom and shower facilities are located within the park. Forest setting while still close to stores in case of forgotten items but the gift shop is stocked with camping supplies, as well. Variety of small wildlife in the area.
