We tent camped on this beautiful creekside, viking-themed respite and were quite comfortable even within rain and heat. There are plenty of trees for shade and dipping our feet in the creek to cool off was a delight. David, our host, was warm, welcoming, gracious and friendly. We stayed there while visiting Serpent Mound which is very close-by. We cannot wait to return. We truly felt so refreshed. There's something magical about hearing that creek at night.

What a beautiful farm to camp at! My 8 year old daughter and I had such a lovely time in the A Frame exploring the wildlife trails, hanging out with the koi fish, the chickens and Aimee! Everything is so well thought out and obviously a lot of care has gone into this property, it’s absolutely magical, we can’t wait to return!

Second stay and would still 100% recommend David’s place! So grateful for the nature, birds, stars, love, fun and beauty! There’s nothing better than hearing a babbling brook, bird songs and a crackling fire all at once :) perfect hosts all around!

4 nights at Myhio Haven Horse Farm

It is a primitive campsite, so don't expect state park amenities, but you can expect privacy. You are only a few miles from Shawnee State Park if you want to take advantage of their activities. Tree coverage was mother nature's umbrella during heavy rains and the fishing and swimming were great. Getting to the campsite was a brief adventure, so you absolutely need 4 wheel drive. I wouldn't hesitate to book again.

The land was immaculately kept. It was easy to get in, even in the dark. The creek was nice and cool to stick our toes in on a hot day. We managed to stay in the shade most of the day.

Folks, book it! Fruitdale Farms is the ideal spot for tent camping or enjoying quiet nights in one of their wonderful cabins on the property. There's solid trails, a refreshing pond to take a dip, a beautiful stream, along with plenty of shade in the woods. You will be kindly welcomed. It's an 11 outta 10!

Janine and Clinton’s property was beautiful and well kept/maintained. We really enjoyed our 3 night stay. The campsite was exactly what we were looking for. It was a great spot that we choose. I wasn't aware that the whole property was first come first serve in a sense but when we got there, there wasn't anyone else so we had lots of spots to choose from. It was very simple to get there despite not having an cell service which was great in my option. It wasn't too far to the nearest gas station or the local town, just drive carefully. The rules were very clear and easy enough to understand and respect. The bathroom was very well kept and clean along with the shower. Overall we had a great time and would definitely come back!

Great private site right next to a field - the stars were amazing at night! While it's somewhat close to a road, there was very little traffic during the day and none at night. Host supplied electric, water, and firewood - couldn't ask for much else!

LAKE HOPE STATE PARK is just 4 miles away down an old dirt road, with a 120-acre lake for boating, paddleboarding, kayaking, fishing and swimming. They also have a free public Shooting Range. HISTORICAL REMNANTS are sprinkled throughout the area, most notably the haunted Moonville Tunnel, Kings Hollow Tunnel and the Hope Iron Furnace. While we don't allow hunting on our property, PUBLIC HUNTING is permitted in Zaleski State Forest (bordering our property) as well as the neighboring Waterloo Wildlife Area and the 5000 acre Wild Turkey management area. This studio space has a private entrance and a private covered porch. The cabin has a full size bed and a futon as well as a fully equipped kitchenette. The cabin has WIFI. The bathroom has a small shower and a composting toilet. Towels, sheets and extra blankets are provided. This cabin is the only cabin on the property and is attached to a 40 acre horse farm with hiking trails, fun bird and wildlife watching. Close to Athens, the Hocking Hills, Lake Hope and Burr Oak State Park. We also offer trail rides and riding lessons to our guests. We are willing to rent out our kayaks and bicycles and transport those to close by locations for your fun adventure. The farm offers many nice vistas for tent camping or setting up a small camper as long as you don't mind being totally off the grid. We are close to the Moonville Rails to trails for great hiking, biking and horse back riding. We also offer stalls if you would like to bring your own equine and explore the area. For those of you who want to bring your large horse trailer, you can rent my small goose neck which holds three horses to travel to your local fun destinations.

This tiny (about 150 sq feet) eco cabin is nestled in the hills and hollows of Meigs County Ohio on 6.6 secluded acres of mostly wooded land on a private, dead end gravel lane. A superb place to bird watch, identify native plants and trees, and stargaze as the cabin is located in one of the darkest places in Ohio. Also on the property is a 16x20 camping/activities platform for your enjoyment. Our doors opened in September 2020 with the intention of creating a simple, yet functional and secluded space for individuals, couples, and groups to come together and enjoy the serenity of nature's beauty. We are one of Ohio's only openly clothing optional and naturist friendly rentals. You of course do not have to be naked during your visit, but it is a safe place to explore the naturist lifestyle if you've ever been curious! We're located about 25 minutes south of Athens, Ohio and are within 30 minutes of some of the best hiking in the state. Learn more about this land: Come get cozy in the private and secluded hills and hollows of Pomeroy, Ohio! Only 25 min south of Athens, but a world away from work, hurry, and distractions. Retreat into nature with us and return to your inner peace and wellness. WiFi free zone with 1-2 bars of reception, typically. Ohio's only openly clothing optional and naturist friendly rentals. Be prepared to walk and carry all of your belongings up a steep hill that is about 50 yards long. To access the queen bed in the loft, you will need to be able to assemble and hang up a ~40 wooden ladder to the loft. There is no outdoor lighting, so if you plan to arrive after dark, bring a bright flashlight or head lamp as you will not be able to see anything. The cabin is stocked with spices, teas, coffees, hot chocolate, and all you need to cook meals. There is a microwave, toaster oven, crockpot, and propane grill. Please DO NOT flush toilet paper.
