Hope Homestead was our first Hipcamp experience, and it was the best encouragement to move it to our A-List (A+). The space has a large lot, so turning and getting situated is easy. The hookups were convenient to access and it was a quiet, restful spot. We arrived late, so in the morning we went to the Country Store, and it was a highlight. The majority of the products are from local vendors, from dairy to meats to home items. This is truly a local community shop. From blending your own teas, to blending your own Castile soap to your custom fragrance, by your own hand. They also have a refill station for various household products (dish soap, laundry detergent, etc. We were impressed by the quality of all the products we encountered. We will be using this location for our trips from VA to Chicago and back. What a joy. Try it out and do not skip the shop.

What a great place! We pulled in very late traveling on art 35 and it was perfect. Hookups are in a large parking lot so there was plenty of space to arrange our camper. Pam greeted us in the morning and had coffee in the General Store. And what a cute store-locally sourced items, books, and food. Highly recommend! We plan to go again

This is a good stop off the exit if you don’t think you can drive any further. We got there late and the market wasn’t open while there. It had a hook up. It is very noisy because it is right by the highway. But it fills the purpose.

We had a wonderful stay at this little store and enjoyed shopping in the store to get some fresh bread and Amish butter. The host were very attentive and welcoming. The property has an area where you could walk and enjoy wildflowers and was very peaceful. We’ll definitely stop again..

A place to pull off the highway

This site is right off the highway, so if you were passing through, this might suit your needs. It unfortunately did not have the right electrical outlet for our camper so we went into off grid mode. I would be sure to plan your stay so that you are not there while the store is open. It would not be very private then.

It was exactly what we needed. Passing thought on the way to Michigan and literally right off the highway! The general store is one of the most beautiful shops I’ve seen in a while.. they have fresh produce and local meats as well. This will be our stopping spot for when we come to visit family in the future, definitely worth the cost.

Easy location right off the highway and the store is super cute - all local items. Everything from meat, cheese, veggies to leather goods, oils, and jewelry. Host was very helpful, kind and friendly. Parking is behind the building with access to all the FHU items. The dump is extended higher than normal but it worked out just fine. Front of the store has a big deck and there are adirondack chairs on the big lawn. We didn't use them but if you needed a place to run around and relax it was there for you.

Pam was very friendly and helpful. Our stay was quiet and our dog loved having a big field to play in. Our stay was a short one but we will definitely stay again when we pass through.
