Hocking Hills Riverside Campground Primitive Hocking Hills Camp Sites The Riverside Campground has big spacious sites. Sites are primitive and include a picnic table and fire ring. There is NO electric at the Campground. Many sites overlook the Hocking River. Swimming can be accessible on a few sites, and there are two Premium sites, more spacious (2 & 64) Please note that our Campground is on the River. Due to excessive rain and certain times of the year, the campground may be wet and muddy. We also cannot control the level of the river or the access to the River based on current water levels. They were so kind and helpful! When we didn’t realize JUST how cold it was going to get (17 degrees), they stepped right up to make sure the fire was going a little so we got there in a semi-warm place. A few wasps that were not happy with us bugging them (see what I did there?) greeted us but they love to find places to get in everywhere we go. Their property is SURROUNDED by state and national parks. WOW. So much beautiful history, wildlife, and dirt roads! We drove into Athens for coffee and to Salaam for dinner. We hiked all over Zaleski State Park, saw the Moonville Tunnel, visited Fairfield County Infirmary on the way back home. I can not WAIT to come back!!!

We had an excellent time! We didn’t get to explore much around the camping area due to weather, but we stayed very warm with the wood stove! Everything was so cute and the amenities were so nice! We ended up being over prepared because so much was already provided. Located perfectly to go spend the day at the multiple surrounding parks and trail systems!

Weekend Trip to Geode Nature Domes

Loved the location and surrounding area. Away from the business district. Dome was warm with heated blanket and heater for a February stay. Loved the large event done. Would Dey stay again.

Weekend Trip to Woody Acres

We had a wonderful time at the Peppermint Patty Wagon. Austin and Kate were great hosts! The P.P.W. was a nice camping trailer. The outdoor kitchen is right up near trailer. We had booked fishing with Austin, that went good. We could not catch any fish because of the weather now, but Austin was too good at it. He even taught us filleting and that was sweet. We didn’t get to see much of Kate, she was off with her work. But Austin was around like always when we needed something. Also, genuinely impressed by Austin’s knowledge. Thank you for making that happen!
