1 night at Artemis Gardens BnB

My stay at Lisa's was just magical. The vibe was just heaven to this old hippie's heart who felt like a kid in a candy store exploring all the Wonders that can be found in every corner. This place is so unique warm and welcoming there's a little something for just about everyone unless you just want to hold up in a room alone and then you might as well go to a Motel 6 because this place is all about engaging in life in all forms whether it is chilling out to good music, creating some art or playing music on one of the instruments or cooking a nice meal for the first time in 6 weeks, even just sitting and watching the rain through the beautiful floor to ceiling Windows surrounded by plants. I have already told many friends and I'm planning a return visit. Thank you Lisa you are a gracious and beautiful hostess

Weekend Trip to Fairhaven

We had such a great time camping at Fairhaven! The campsite was nice with a lot of shaded trees, privacy and a picnic table. We loved how peaceful it was at night and the close proximity to a real toilet (which was especially clean)! Our little ones really loved looking at the chickens and had fun playing in the sandbox area. Melissa, the host, was very communicative and hospitable. Overall, we had a great time and would definitely be back!

4 nights at Resting Roost

We loved camping out here! It was super peaceful and nice. There was only two down falls (weather sucked big time but it gave us more time to spend quality time together, and the grass is really long and unfortunately my mother in law did find a tick in her ear, we would highly recommend trimming it often to prevent any further issues). Otherwise Joshua and Rachael were amazing! They tried to help us with the shower issue we had but due to weather and our hot water tank going it didn’t work out, but we managed! They offered to give us info on local spots etc. overall just an incredible experience. We would definitely camp here again!

We loved camping here. Our new favorite spot. The owners were incredibly kind and went above and beyond on the amenities! We were greeted with cookies (for us and our pup!)--what a start! Those cookies are HEAVEN. Firewood was available, the outhouse was clean (they even provide reading material!). The spot was secluded and the creek babbling in the background was soo relaxing. The farm animals were sweet and didn't mind us visiting everyday with our dog. They provided trash/recycling bins, an excellent cooktop and a well-thought out space to set up camp! We even had trees to hammock in and the grass was cut around the field so we had a wonderful walking path. The turkeys were a hoot to listen to! 😆 We will absolutely be back and feel so lucky to have found this place!

1 night at River Camp Fort Wayne

River camp is a wild, natural area just minutes from the hustle and bustle of Fort Wayne. It's amazing how remote it feels. Marla is a great host, and has kept the natural feel while having every convenience you would want while camping. I sat down on the river watching geese with goslings, and a Bald Eagle that was hunting for a relaxing evening.

My adult daughter and I do a get away each year to celebrate our birthdays. We both are exhausted professionals and need to truly wind down. Lisa’s place was exactly what we needed. The house is so deeply chill and comfy! So many cool things to look at and touch. The added plus of the hanging hoop really blew my daughter’s mind and I loved watching her play like a girl again. We will 100% be coming back!!!

Vaughn's got a great space. After camping with a group the last couple of trips, I was looking to camp solo and this was a good creekside spot that fit that mood. While I was a lone camper, this spot works for a small group as well, with the benefit of a nice outhouse. Which the sound of the creek will have you visit a few times. Overall, a fantastic spot where you can get a nice mix of farm and nature, and to take a break from the world beyond the creek.

It was a peaceful stay. A nice retreat while in town for worlds WGI (drumline competition). Lisa made breakfast & coffee each morning. Other guests brought their doggo Fox. It was nice having a furry friend around. I hope to come back next year & bring my husband & dog too!

3 nights at The Land of Milk And Honey

Its a great spot. The host was very friendly but not intrusive. He welcomed us and gave us some cookies shortly after we had gotten all set up. It's secluded and the actual campsite is tucked away in the woods by a creek. There was a very friendly turkey who came to visit us multiple times. We also got to see the cows up close. There was also a rooster who would wake us up every morning, but he was far enough away to not be too loud. Lots of ducks, cranes, and bats at night. It rained a lot while we were there which we found quite peaceful. Perfect getaway for us, completely recommend this site.

Weekend Trip to Artemis Gardens BnB

Lisa (human), Nemo, Luna, and Artemis (cats) were amazing hosts during my stay. I came for an outdoorsy getaway and the hiking in the area was plentiful and close. Definitely check out the Charleston Falls - they're amazing year round! Lisa's house is a work of art, each nook and cranny painted and decorated with her own work and charming decor. The room was cozy, the bed comfy, the cats friendly (shout out to my girl Nemo, who will crawl into your skin if you let her. Lots of kisses and cuddles from that ginger sweetheart). The highlight is the sitting room with gorgeous plants and lots of sunlight, looking out onto greenery and critters. Lisa was a gracious host who answered all messages/requests quickly. She made me breakfast and gave me recs for local spots. Spot was easy to find, parking was easy, and although there are a few far-flung neighbors it was 100% quiet.

Weekend Trip to Indian Lake Adventures

We had a great time glamping in our adorable Indian Lake tiny house! The grounds are well maintained and lovely, and the staff were super friendly and helpful. On the edge of the property is a brew pub with games, cozy seating indoors and out, fire pits, and sometimes even live music and food trucks, which was a pleasant surprise. House was well equipped with many essentials, too. Would definitely stay again!!

We had such a great time camping and using their little cabin that has just about everything you would need to camp! Not only has a queen bed but also a twin bed for your kid's our two boys fit in it( 6 and 9 years old). My personal favorite is they think of all the stuff for your family to be comfortable! Their property is beautiful and my kids love playing in the river!!

The cabin is amazing. They have added a driveway to the cabin with a parking spot next to it. It is spacious, with a wood burning stove, electric, and water. There is a tv, dvd player, queen bed, twin bed, and a futon couch. The best part is the hosts are amazing.

best place i’ve stayed in hipcamp even though there weren’t showers. they have a bunch of animals like peacocks and cows! the host also baked us cookies. 10/10 total chillers

This was our second time at Land of Milk and Honey, the experience was as great as the first time. We love how secluded this place feels so when we need to get out of the city, it is the perfect spot. Bathroom is one of best I've seen at the dozen or so Hip camps I have stayed at. There is also a very impressive outdoor cooking setup so if you don't have your own this is a big win for you. Hosts are very helpful and accommodating, we were even greeted with some AWESOME homemade cookies and treats for the dogs. My dog Tippy buried hers near the wood pile so we're all very excited to go back soon.

Each site is in a wooded, shaded area with a flat area on the ground to place a single large tent. Each site has its own fire ring and a small wooden table. There is wood on the ground you may use for firewood, and ample twigs etc on the ground for kindling (do not cut any trees or branches off trees). There is a covered firewood shed with dry firewood as well. There are maintained trails with river access for kayaks. There is a porta potty near the campsites with a handwashing station, that is open year round. There is a single bathroom with flush toilet and sink with running water that is a short walk away (open May-Oct depending on weather) There is an outdoor on-demand hot-water shower at bathroom, with a water hose available as well. On-demand hot water heaters provide hotter water at a low water pressure, and cooler water at full blast. Campsites are a short walk (100-200 feet) away from parking area (you cannot drive directly to or park at your campsite). Foster Park is a short bike ride away where you will find greenway trails that run throughout Fort Wayne (ride your bike to downtown!!) Our property backs up to the St Mary's River, bring you kayaks and fishing poles! (We reserve the right to assign you to a different (but equally beautiful) campsite in the case of property maintennance concerns, recent rain or weather conditions etc). This 5 acre property is loaded with activities! The stocked pond (catch and release) is a great place to teach your kids how to fish. You don't have to be an experienced fisherman to catch a fish in this pond! Swimming, kayaking, paddle boat, cornhole, small beach area for the little ones, and 2 acres of wooded trails for those who enjoy a peaceful walk. Wildlife is abundant and they prefer to be left alone. Please stay on the trails to preserve all vegetation. If you see a fawn or other babies, please do not touch these animals. Momma will be back! If you see one in distress, please contact the host. The community area at the gazebo offers a charcoal grill (charcoal available for purchase), seating, electric outlets, and water. Please be considerate to other guest while using this area. Trash receptacles are available at different areas on the property. Fresh eggs and produce will be available when in season. Please ask if you are interested. Campsites are located in the woods and are primitive. Sites include picnic table, fire pit, and trash can. Campers have access to a bathroom with a shower that is located in the basement of the cabin. All campers need to check-in with the on-site owners. All gear can be transported with a golf cart.
