This property has been in our family for over 30 years. It started out as a woody hillside and been transformed into a beautiful paylake. We started by taking 20 feet of dirt off the top of the hill and pushing it to the edges to create a flat area big enough to build on. Then we dug our 2 big paylakes and stocked them with catfish.

Established in 1983 on a 60-acre plot of land right in the Shawnee State Forest. The property is beautiful with flat land, fields, and at the back are the foot hills of the Appalachian Mountains. We put a horse farm on the land in 2000. The horses here are my family and I want to expand and offer more opportunities on the land. That's when I came across Hipcamp! I'm excited to share a piece of my heaven that I'm fortunate enough to call home.

Many many years ago, this property was known as Cross Winds Farm due to the crosswinds coming in from all directions at times. After being sold twice, the purchasing owner renamed the farm Quail Run. Did you ever hear the superstition that renaming a farm can bring bad luck? It appears to be true in this instance, as the owner of Quail Run experienced several financial difficulties and the property eventually sold at auction. About 8 years later the property came up for sale again. It was at this point we purchased the land and built the farm and our home. In researching the history of the property, we came across the original name and decided to restore to original name.Learn more about this land:Enjoy the spectacular sunrises and sunsets from this working horse farm while sharing the rolling hills and hiking trails with nature. The stars have never appeared brighter without the light pollution found in more densely populated areas. You will pull in on a private gravel road which runs along top a ridge. Once you arrive at the horse barn, parking is very nearby and we will direct you where to pull in. We will park you in as level of a spot as we can for you. Depending on number of other RVers and first arrivals, your parking may be on a bit more of a slope. Please note, you will be parking in a grassy area and be prepared in the event mother nature were to decide to bring rain. Heavy amounts of rain coupled with a heavy rig could lead to difficulties pulling out if you aren't prepared ahead of time with the proper equipment. We're just a 15-minute drive from King's Island and an hour or less drive from Cincinnati, Dayton and Columbus. It's great out here, ya'll--join us! Property is located on top of a hill overlooking a hilly view of fields and forests. It is next to a cattle farm and across the street from an 18 hole Public Golf Course. Seven minutes from West Union where there is food, gas, shopping available. Five minutes from the Ohio river and downtown Manchester. Fifteen Minutes from historical Maysville kentucky, accessible via a bridge from Aberdeen, Ohio side. There are several boat ramps in to the Ohio river from Aberdeen. Twenty minutes from Amish store The Millers and a Petting Zoo. Thirty Minutes from Shawnee State Park. 80 minutes from Downtown Cincinnati. In the evenings if the sky is clear the star gazing is phenomenal. There is a nice breeze on the hill most of the time. The sunrises and sunsets are to die for. We can provide a long outdoor extension cord for electricity and hose for water. We live right by the road and the bulk of the property is behind the house and to the left side. It’s mostly field with a line of trees and small stream on the left edge of the property.
