Weekend Trip to The Oasis

Beautiful wooded lot sandwiched between a bike trail and a creek. Each space included a fire ring, and a nearby latrine was available for use. This is an excellent place if you are looking to camp and have things to do. The host mentioned the creek is high enough to canoe or kayak in the spring. You can also enjoy access to the bike trail right from the site, and the Hopewell earthworks are within a short driving distance. The hosts were on-site when we arrived and were very friendly and helpful. Firewood is also available for purchase right there on the spot. There are also multiple sites located around a common area, making it ideal for large groups. Overall, my sister and I enjoyed our stay.

4 nights at GloryField Hospitality Farm

Our long weekend at GloryField Hospitality Farm in South Charleston, Ohio was nothing short of magical. From the moment we pulled into the spacious RV pad with our 40-ft Class A, we knew we had found a hidden gem—so much better than the crowded state parks. The level, gravel site overlooks the wetland pond and is well maintained, featuring full hookups (electric, water, and sewer), a picnic table, and a fire ring with convenient access to firewood. The site has good water pressure and well positioned connections relative to the pad. WiFi is available, but plan on using cellular or satellite if you need faster speeds for streaming or VPN. The catch-and-release pond located in a secluded corner of the property was a highlight of the trip. We caught several largemouth bass and crappie. We spent time just relaxing in the benches, listening to the birds chirping and the wind blowing through the fall corn. Kimberly, the host and owner of GloryField, was warm, welcoming, and full of local knowledge, she made us feel right at home—even inviting the family to experience a unique farm experience. Even though we arrived pretty late, Jay was there to greet us and explain the property and amenities. The camping site is private and suited our rooftop tent. There is a nice kitchen area with microwave, hot plate, and some cooking utensils/pots and pans. I would definitely stay there again.

I enjoyed camping at peaceful pines. My dog could be off leash and play in the creek on the property. Rural is the word, no cell service but, that was ok with me. There is a lovely "cabin" on the property as well. Jessica was good at communicating the cellular limitations. wifi is available at the cabin. it does extend a little but you have to be fairly close to the cabin.. This is quite close to Hocking hills state park which we went to for hiking.

Had a great time at this farm for a weekend camping trip. Friendly and helpful hosts! They provided some extra firewood, fresh eggs, and plenty of space! Plenty of land to explore with chickens and cows on the property. Easy RV hookup and some flat spots for tents. The provided bathroom and shower was clean and sufficient. It's a mini-container unit. Plenty of room for an RV with easy hookup and no issues! Some of the trails weren't mowed recently so the grass was long, John Bryan State Park and Indian Mound are both close by for some good hiking and exploring. The house on the property had guests, and one night there were yurt campers -- but still no issues with privacy or space. The yurts are REALLY far away and you wouldn't even know they were there if you weren't told, and the house if far enough away that space is not an issue.

Weekend Trip to McKee Farm - Treehouses and Camping

I absolutely loved staying at McKee farm. It was peaceful and beautiful and exactly what I needed! The hostess was so kind and flexible, even offing me a choice of alternative sites when there was farm work happening near my original one. My city dogs especially loved having free rein to run as long and far as they wanted and devour all the new smells. It was very hot during the day when I visited; however, I would definitely return in cooler weather and the stargazing and sunsets can be beat!

Sarah is a fabulous host! Super helpful to me with some details and questions I had. Very responsive to my texts before and during the trip. Her land really is lovely. You can see the stars through the tree tops, birds are all over the place, including bald eagles along the creek. Having the bicycle/walking path right next door was fabulous...that's where I saw the huge eagle in a tree. On weekday mornings you may hear a few large trucks heading out early. Other than that, not a lot of traffic noise. When things re-open in the Spring, I would highly recommend checking it out. When we were there the creek was quite low and the campsite had been a bit bruised by heavy machinery. Nature recovers. Thank you again, Sarah! Note: there are several verbal dogs nearby who were active during the nighttime hours. If you're a super light sleeper, perhaps this isn't the place for you.
