Weekend Trip to DLR Mustang Ranch

We had a remarkable time at the DRL Mustang Ranch! We were seeking the perfect place to camp and enjoy nature, and boy did we find it. From the stunning mustangs, donkeys, peacocks, ducks, and of course Fred the friendly Turkey, we truly had a wonderful time and were one with nature. Thank you Renee and Dale for being fantastic and friendly hosts. Thank you also for the amazing work that you’re doing to impact mustangs, veterans, and people with all abilities!

Very nice and secluded campsite and only one site. Conveniently located between Football HOF and R&RHOF plus near all the shopping you need. No amenities but we were self contained so no problem for us.

The farm that this campsite is located on sure lives up to its name. We enjoyed many other animals on top of the beautiful equine that surrounded us. The willingness of the owner to help us out in any way possible was pleasantly surprising. They also carry out an awesome mission there that you would have to check out for yourself. 1 night at The Turkey Hollow Campground

This was a cool spot! We stayed at the first site. There wasn’t anyone else there. Felt safe. There was some construction in the morning but it didn’t really bother us. The showers are open so you can’t shower unless you have a bathing suit or want to just rinse your feet or something. It was nice flat land. The pond was pretty but didn’t go in or near it really. Nice to have a place to throw garbage. Running water to wash dishes was nice. We didn’t drink the water but the construction workers were.

2 nights at Goat Farm Hide-Away CVNP

Allison and Ken were wonderful hosts and very accommodating. Their single site was perfect for our needs, and we loved spending time with the goats! Proximity to Cuyahoga Valley National Park and Cuyahoga Falls can't be beat. We'll be back!

2 nights at Goat Farm Hide-Away CVNP

This was the most family-friendly campsite we’ve encountered. Our young child loved the animals, and Allison even let him help cleanup and bottle-feed the babies. She was kind and patient with our child (and us). The site was incredibly quiet and clean, including the porta-potty and animal areas. We plan to make this a regular family trip. I can’t recommend it enough! Note: there are beehives behind the field. I’m allergic. We setup in front of the barn, near the baby goats, and didn’t see a single honeybee.

I had a class B Roadmaster camper van and being a newbie the hairpin turns going down the driveway to the campsite was scary for me (but that’s just me). Otherwise, I had a restful 3-day stay at Turkey Hollow. The shower was a hoot! Might I suggest a handle on the side of the tree for us seniors…lol 😁

Great spot and super close to Cuyahoga National Park. My kids loved interacting with the goats and other animals in the morning before we headed into the park.

Weekend Trip to Memory Park Campground

It was such a great place to stay! The property was super clean. The little river it was on just set the tone for a nice relaxing weekend. Mark was easy to get in touch with. We ended up being 1 of 2 campsites being used over the weekend but I can see how it would give more campers a feel of privacy. The port-o-pity was probably the cleanest one I have ever seen. The terrain wasn’t difficult to get to camping areas. I would recommend this to anyone going on a solo trip or with friends!

I’m very close to all the creature comforts like Walmart and Target, but the property is wooded on three sides so you feel like you’ve gotten away from the city. There is a small creek my dogs love to play in and a large field for frisbee and star gazing. There are hikes close by at Little Turtle Pond and many restaurants within 10 minutes like Woodys, NauitiVine and Magic City Brewery. If you enjoy boating Nimistila Reservoir (electric only very kayak friendly) and Portage Lakes are a quick 12 minute drive. I look forward to meeting you soon!

Heartland Homestead

Heartland Homestead is the perfect spot for you to enjoy away from home and in nature. With dreamy vibes and open skies, you can relax in our tent camping spots around Mother Oak or reserve a glamping cabin for a true unplugged experience - but make it comfy cozy. Depending on the time of year + season, you may see our goats, cows, pigs, chickens, or more! We may have pick-your-own tomatoes, pumpkins, + flowers as well Glamping Cabins We have two glamping cabins that include beds and lanterns so you get the feel of sleeping in nature but comfortably. Each cabin has a picnic table, fire pit, and charcoal grill. One cabin has a queen-size bed and the second has a full-size bed and a trundle bed with 2 twin-size mattresses. The cabins do not have electric or water. A porta-potty is located near the barn (a 5 minute walk) and a lug-able loo or portapotty will be available closer to the cabins depending on when you stay. We are happy to help get your gear back to the cabins with the farm cart and then it is an 8-minute walk along a hay pasture to the parking area. Tent Camping Our tent camping spots are located under Mother Oak, a 100-year-old oak tree in the middle of our farm. With ample shade, a fire pit, and nearby portapotty, you can relax under the stars into the night. Hiking trails weave through the back of the property and you are welcome to explore those as well. Because we are a working homestead and farm, a few things are true: -Sometimes there’s mud. We suggest boots for walking around the property and in the woods. -Our farm animals are great - and may also bite. Please do not pet or chase them. We are happy to arrange opportunities to interact with the animals. Just ask! -Not always, but at times, our neighbors will start farming early in the morning and you can hear their machinery. All of our sites have privacy but are not truly remote. We want you to enjoy yourselves but please be mindful that our house is on the property as well as our neighbors. Music needs to be turned down to a low level by 11 PM. We can accommodate pop-up campers, camper vans, etc near Mother Oak as well. Please message with any questions before reserving. Additional fees would apply. We can also accommodate larger tent camping groups depending on the day. Additional fees would apply. The homestead is located near 58 so you can hear cars during the day and night. The cabins are about a ½ mile from the road so the noise is greatly reduced. DLR Mustang Ranch

Located roughly 20 miles from Beaver Creek State Park, DLR Mustang Ranch is a 17-acre peaceful sanctuary for many wild and previously wild mustangs. The Ranch offers veteran and first responder mustang programs year-round. Please let us know if you are a veteran or first responder for a special rate. Accommodations include a small one-room cabin nestled on a little pond. The cabin has electricity, a microwave, small refrigerator, tv, futon, heating and cooling; however, it does not have plumbing. Nearby is an outhouse with electricity and a water pump fed from well water. There is a firepit for cooking and picnic tables available. There is also flat space for tent camping beside the cabin area. If a more secluded area is preferred, there is a 4-acre field in the back of the property surrounded by woods; however, it should be noted the only outhouse is located by the cabin. Splitting the property in half at the bottom of a wooded hill is a quiet stream full of small wildlife. Coyotes often cut through the woods and the 4-acre pasture. There is space for an RV in the driveway next to the woods with electric hookup and access to the outhouse, water pump, and firepit. While this is a working ranch with farm animals, our aim is to create a peaceful relaxing environment in order to unwind and enjoy the creation around us. Going in the pastures with horses while unaccompanied by the owners is prohibited; however, it can be arranged for you to meet and interact with the mustangs if interested. There are other farm animals including sheep, a goat, pigs, donkeys, peacocks, turkeys, chickens and ducks on the premises. If you want a quaint country escape complete with farm sounds, this is the spot for you!
