With 4 campsites on 75 acres, guests have ample privacy and space, with the freedom to roam this posted property that has no homes on it. Perched high above the Allegheny there are several spots to take in the wonderful views. There is also a waterfall with a 3’ deep pool below it. Great for splashing with kids or dogs, guests love exploring the creek bottom and making new discoveries. The more curious guests sometimes find the ruins of the original homestead, chimney and spring house that sit upstream. The property is teeming with wildlife. Birds and tree frogs will be the soundtrack of your visit, and often deer will be seen nosing along the outskirts of your site in the mornings and evenings. Plus you get a huge space. There is no bath house, sewer/dump station (for black/gray water), or showers at this time, but you'll see we are working towards those things. With good planning and if you prefer, we can be there to help you set up. The site will be clearly marked, and there is more than enough room to back in/out. We can host the largest of rigs (even up to 45 feet). As you can imagine, it takes a lot of mowing to manage grounds of this size. There is a red storage building (for our mower) about 10 yards from the site that we reserve the right to access. We want the place in top shape for you, and we will not mow or weed-wack near your site during your stay. We do have three well behaved pups, and we are about 60 yards away from this site in our cabin. Sorry to say, we are not yet comfortable with guests bringing pets, but this may change soon. Must love dogs, because we do take ours throughout the property for exercise. Though you will see sewer clean outs, our system is not equipped or available for RV septic use as this time. Tampering with or attempting to use the clean outs will likely lead to a discontinuation of your stay. Please forgive us, we are working on a plan for this in the future. We accept Class B’s, Class C’s, and Camper Vans.

Weekend Trip to Peaceful Seclusion

This was a perfect getaway with plenty space to setup a tent or hammock. It's also only 15 minutes away from a store if I forgot anything. Kate supplied plenty of split wood, picnic table, chair and bench. The view was amazing and I will definitely be back again!

1 night at Muddy Myst

Very easy to find, well kept, quiet campsite by the creek. Though the weather was quite cold, I really enjoyed my stay at Muddy Myst. The trails were easy to navigate and the pond was beautiful! Can’t wait to come back in the warmer months for a dip!! Can’t thank you enough Liam enough for the complimentary coffee- much needed after waking up in 30 degrees!!! Will definitely be back:)

Michael’s land is gorgeous and it was heaven to have it to ourselves. We especially loved the trails in the wooded area. There’s an awesome fire pit too. Looking forward to another opportunity to tent-camp there!

Weekend Trip to Muddy Myst

This was our first stay at Muddy Myst after looking at it on Hipcamp for a while now! With the state parks closing it was the perfect time to try this place out, and it was amazing!! The hosts were amazing and made us feel right at home! Falling asleep listening to the creek all night was also amazing. Will definitely be back!!

Bill and Nancy were very quick to respond, accommodating and helpful! He even even offered to loan me a sleeping bag when the weather was colder than I'd planned for! I ended up caught in traffic and was not able to stay there, but I have their place on my list for cross-country drives!

Weekend Trip to River Hills Above the Allegheny

Such a beautiful location. The views were amazing. The hosts were super accommodating and kind. They were on site when we visited, and they offered to give my nieces and nephews a ride in their buggy. They had a blast. Kids and dogs loved trekking through the creek and exploring the waterfall. The open field was great for us to play all sorts of games. Played capture the flag at night. All in all a great time.

Weekend Trip to DLR Mustang Ranch

Our stay was perfect, the site is beautiful and well kept and the host was very welcoming and kind to our two boys. She showed us all their animals and told us their backstories and even let our oldest help feed the chickens. She provided snacks for the horses which we were able to feed whenever we wanted. They come right up to the tent site and the cabin. We felt very safe and it was easy to find when driving in. Each animal we interacted with was good, the turkey will climb on your shoulder and the cats will sit on you by the fire. We are very happy and plan to come back again! If you want a more private stay I would recommend booking both the tent site and the cabin if possible. The out house and fire pit are communal so if you don’t you’ll end up getting cozy with some strangers.

Weekend Trip to Muddy Myst

We really enjoyed our camping experience at Muddy Myst. There was a ton of helpful information provided before our arrival and more available in the common area. The site felt private yet the common area and restroom were easy to access. I was particularly impressed with the extra touches, fall flowers on our picnic table, very nice soaps and air freshener in the impeccably clean bathroom, and a helpful space to clean up some dishes and get some hot water for cocoa in Hank's Hangout. This site is maintained lovingly.

We parked our short bus at the hill top and had the most RESTFUL stay with Bill and Nancy. No one else had booked the weekdays we stayed and it was such a treat to enjoy the sounds of turkeys, birds, and gentle rain all to ourselves. Having the flushable toilet on site was wonderful (rare to find). The hilltop felt private as could be. We enjoyed fires for 2 nights with the bundle provided, and there was still a bit left. Pokeberries abundant for painters! Bill and Nancy are kind, considerate, and have a lovely kept home and property. We were beside ourself with the peace we felt during our stay and will definitely try to stop back on our way home. There's a rifle range in the distance but for a person who struggles with PTSD, the sounds were few and far between, and distant. For as many stays as I've come across this, it was entirely manageable 🩷 appreciation to bill for the heads up when we arrived/met.

Thus is my favorite hipcamp mainly because of no leash on you dog. Back story we got a dog we love the dog we bought a camper so we can take her when we travel. We live near Pittsburgh and there are 3 hipcamps that have no leash Bill and Nancy's, one near Harrisburg one somewhere in middle Ohio.
