Family Farm Local Food Experience
My husband and I loved minivan camping at Benji's farm. His wife came out to greet us upon arrival and answered a few questions we had about where to set up. The property was very near to Kenyon College which we were visiting. The outhouse with flush toilet was certainly a plus!

It was off the beaten path in the country but very close to Mt Vernon. They were very nice and had a nice visit at the campfire with them. We chose this site due to it’s proximity to the Ohio to Erie bike trail. We completed a big chunk of that during this visit. I would definitely go back it was a relaxing visit.

It was ok but not as described. Lower driveway is grass covered and somewhat narrow. The only place to turn around was only large enough for small rigs to turn.

We had the most relaxing time on Benji and family’s farm! It was our first time staying at a hipcamp on someone’s personal property and at first you feel like you are invading on their space but once you meet their lovely family they literally make you feel at home!

Lovely setting out in the country with gorgeous views. And, how cool to have a flush toilet in an outhouse. Nice grassy spot to plant your tent. However, the traffic noise kept me from having a peaceful night's sleep. Never saw a person while there and so hope i camped at the right farm.

It's a beautiful spot, replete with chickens, cats, ducks and geese--and the many wild critters attracted by such. We heard bullfrogs, coyotes, many songbirds, saw a a few deer. Benji and Sarah we're superb hosts, delivering breakfast, giving tours, tolerating an overly friendly dog (as did the chickens and cats). Traffic noise is more than ideal, but sporadic. The flush toilet is genius, but there is a learning curve (hint: put the water on slowly).

The evening rainstorm put a bit of a damper on the festivities. The campsite is a flat field on a hilltop, with minimal windbreak. Plan accordingly! Can't fault our hosts for the weather, and had a good time in spite of nearly washing/blowing away.
There was enough room for several tents and two pavilions around the steel fire ring. We appreciated the flush toilet at the top of the hill near the parking area. (You have to apply a lot of force to turn the water on or off via the pump handle outside.) We also enjoyed viewing Wolf Run Preserve from across the small valley. Its 5 parking spaces are only a few minute drive away. Best of all was how close we were to Honey Run Falls--a must-see for any visitor to Knox County. It only took about 13 minutes to get there, and the splendor of the geography and wildflowers was worth the whole soggy night.
Bonus features included the exceedingly snuggly barn cats. (Coffee and Mocha, I believe?) They were unfazed by the rain, and enjoyed cuddling and exploring us as we relaxed around the fire. Coffee in the morning was delivered piping hot in a big thermos with cream, sugar, and several cups along with the eggs we ordered. The eggs' creators did their best to help us with pack-out. (Keep an eye out for chicken stowaways!)
Definitely a pleasant camping experience, would recommend Benji and Sarah as hosts any day.

Benji has an amazing farm with plenty of space. There was plenty of wood for a fire and breakfast was amazing! Would recommend and definitely will be returning
