With over 230 acres, a lake, trails, the Grand River, plenty of wildlife, and FREE firewood. Bass and Buck Adventures is the perfect place to get away. Once known as Parkman Gorge the valley was a hub for water powered industry in the early 1800's. The river and valley is home to a wide array of wildlife. Deer, turkey, eagles, hawks, owls, mink, river otters to name a few. The area also attracts many song birds including a wide variety of warblers. There is also an abundance of wild flowers. The valley is rich in Native American history. Many artifacts have been found on the property. My great grandfather talked about the last Native American to live in Parkman. He had a cabin on one of the bluffs along the river. In the 1820's there was a water powered sawmill, flaxseed mill, and forge on the river. The boy scouts used the valley for a camp in the 1920,s. My grandpa purchased the property in the 50's from Ohio Edison. Ohio Edison's plan to dam up the river for hydro power never materialized. The valley has been a favorite for outdoor enthusiasts. Camping, hiking, fishing, hunting. Many of the items used for the camp sites have been reclaimed. The fire rings are old tractor rims and scrap steel. The tent platform is from reclaimed deck lumber. Guests can enjoy the cabin as well as the barn and surrounding property with animals and greenspace. The Camp Cabin: Camp in comfort in our "little cabin in the woods." Accommodates up to 6 guests, with a queen-sized bed, a futon and two low single beds in the loft, accessible only by ladder. Kids 6 and older may sleep in the loft-- just like Laura and Mary-- and they can read a chapter of one of Laura Ingalls' "Little House" books before bed! The cabin contains a small refrigerator, microwave and gas fireplace (no, the pioneers didn’t have that!). Fresh eggs and other snacks are provided for breakfast. The restroom and shower are located in the walkout basement of the farmhouse, a 40 yard walk from the Cabin. The restroom has a private entrance and is used only by guests during their stay. The Farm Property: Pet and interact with goats and other farm animals. The goats and chickens love it when guests bring them tortilla chips, crackers or vegetable scraps. Enjoy fun activities on the farm and around the property. Guests are welcome to use any of the common areas for fires or grilling. Quiet hours are from 10 p.m. to 8 a.m. The Barn: The barn has a recreation area with basketball, foosball, air hockey, ping pong and swings. The climbing wall is off limits to guests. This facility is open May through October. The barn is available for parties for an additional fee, depending on the size of the group. We have seating for up to 60 guests. Please note that the barn is not climate controlled (no air conditioning in summer, but the doors open and we have fans). The barn is closed November through April.

This small farm is 7 acres of the original 25 my great grandmother purchased for her family in 1934. Guests can enjoy the cabin as well as the barn and surrounding property with animals and greenspace. The Camp Cabin: Camp in comfort in our "little cabin in the woods." Accommodates up to 6 guests, with a queen-sized bed, a futon and two low single beds in the loft, accessible only by ladder. Kids 6 and older may sleep in the loft-- just like Laura and Mary-- and they can read a chapter of one of Laura Ingalls' "Little House" books before bed! The cabin contains a small refrigerator, microwave and gas fireplace (no, the pioneers didn’t have that!). Fresh eggs and other snacks are provided for breakfast. The restroom and shower are located in the walkout basement of the farmhouse, a 40 yard walk from the Cabin. The restroom has a private entrance and is used only by guests during their stay. The Farm Property: Pet and interact with goats and other farm animals. The goats and chickens love it when guests bring them tortilla chips, crackers or vegetable scraps. Enjoy fun activities on the farm and around the property. Guests are welcome to use any of the common areas for fires or grilling. Quiet hours are from 10 p.m. to 8 a.m. The Barn: The barn has a recreation area with basketball, foosball, air hockey, ping pong and swings. The climbing wall is off limits to guests. This facility is open May through October. The barn is available for parties for an additional fee, depending on the size of the group. We have seating for up to 60 guests. Please note that the barn is not climate controlled (no air conditioning in summer, but the doors open and we have fans). The barn is closed November through April.

Weekend Trip to A-frame rustic cabin

This was such a cozy little camping spot. I wanted to have just one night of quiet, no work, no setting up, just go be in the woods for a night, and this was perfect. It was pouring when we arrived and laying and taking a nap in the cabin listening to the rain was lovely. The string lights outside were such a nice touch when we woke up from our nap and sat outside for the evening. We will definitely be back! I was so pleasantly surprised that there was some power in the cabin. This felt like glamping to me and it was everything I needed and more.

I really enjoyed my stay here. I felt very welcomed, and the place reflects such a warm and peaceful vibe with the horses and the other animals. The environment is cozy and relaxing, and I truly enjoyed spending time walking in nature. What a beautiful stay! Renee welcomed me warmly and gave me an amazing tour of the horses. She is truly an amazing human being. As soon as you hear her speak about her mission of helping others, you believe in it immediately because she speaks from the heart. What a beautiful mission. I’m very glad that I stayed here. It was a wonderful and memorable experience.

The cabin is lovely, the beds are comfy, the goats and the sheep are adorable! It was really warm inside the cabin, even in single digit temperatures. The bathroom in the main house is very nice. Shiloh is super friendly (though a bit overbearing). Our son and his friends had a great time sledding on the sledding hill, and it was terrific that there were sleds to use!

This was the absolute perfect place for me on a long road trip, this cabin has everything you need for a comfortable stay. It's secluded but the hosts aren't far if you need anything else in a snap. The cabin itself and the surrounding area is so beautiful! It was nice to watch the sun rise from the comfort of my bed. J&T are very responsive, and even went out of their way to mail me a pair of earrings I left there, couldn't recommend this place enough!

My dog Teemo and I had a wonderful stay at Jim and Tracy’s A-frame cabin. They really thought of everything when putting this place together. When I arrived after dark, I wasn’t sure I was in the right spot and had spotty service, but Jim showed up within minutes and even started a fire for us while we settled in! The cabin had all the necessities for a cozy weekend — plenty of firewood included, a warm bathroom with a handwashing station, and even a guitar, which was such a nice touch to play by the fire. There are a couple of dollar stores nearby for snacks or produce, which was really convenient. Teemo and I were very comfortable and appreciated how thoughtful and responsive Jim was. We will definitely be back!

We had a great time at Nick’s campground! We had a nice space and no issues at all. The path to the campsites is a little rocky so if you have an older beat up car like us and are driving in the dark, be sure to be careful! There is a close active train track but we didn’t mind it much. Complimentary wine bottles in the outhouse from their local winery as a nice added touch! Would definitely go back!

Absolutely loved this place. My husband and I stayed the weekend to explore the area for our final trip for the year. The cabin was so cozy,we did have our air mattress with us just incase I was unable to sleep on the futon but was surprisingly comfortable. We were exploring most of the time but getting to see and pet the horses was amazing. Thank you for opening your home to us.

We had a great time! We have trouble finding spots for winter camping and this space was great. We actually forgot our tent poles so the trip could have needed a lot of adapting- but with the access to the barn, we were able to set up inside. Facilities & amenities were clean & as described. Loved watching the animals in the morning and setting up my hammock back by the chickens. Allison was a fantastic host. Would absolutely stay here again!
