Solo travelers, families, and romantic getaway travelers: This is a very private and safe place to camp! Because we only have 1 site, you will be alone in the space the entire time. My family lives on the premises so we are here in case of an emergency.

My daughter and I own this 35 acre secluded piece of heaven just minutes from Winston-Salem, Hanging Rock State Park, and other attractions. We are pet friendly (if your pet does not play well with our dog or horses, please leave them on a leash or at home). Our Shire horses are endangered and very BIG! We hope you have time to say hello to the horses during your visit.

Sebastian Springs Retreat

We bought this amazing 2.5 acre wooded land with a spring and creek on it from our friends who already had a huge healing impact on the land. This land is quiet, it is in a neighborhood and back up to a cow farm.  Everyone keeps to themselfs,  we have three other rentals on the property to share community areas. 

Babbling Brook Campground

Before the Kerr Scott Reservoir was built, in the 40's and 50's, this neighborhood was a local swimming hole and vacation area. Public buses  came from neighboring communities so people could boat, swim, camp, and picnic. 

While we don't have access to the pond, our part of this land still is calling out to people, 'Come,  rest, unload your burdens, and find peace.'  

When we started this project with Hipcamp, we didn't fully realize that we were reconnecting with the history on this property. So, come, take your shoes off, and wade in the creek.  Read a book while laying in a hammock. Sit by the fire and chat with family and friends. 

Come and participate in our little homesteading project, and leave your burdens behind. 

LOCAL ACTIVITIES:

To the west is the Blue Ridge Parkway, which is 30 minutes away. 

15 minutes away is Kerr Scott Dam where you can rent kayaks, pontoon boats, as well as other sporting equipment. Fish, go mountain biking on the extensive trails, and hiking.

Prayer Mountain is right up the road, about 2 miles away.

Heading east, you can find several fine wineries andvineyards that you can visit. There is also a moonshine distillery in town.

About a half hour away is an Amish community that has several businesses open to the public, including the Shiloh Bakery and General Store. They are closed on Sunday and Monday.

To the northeast, about 45 minutes away, is Stone Mountain. Absolutely fantastic hiking, it is also an old homestead that has been renovated and is open to the public.

To the south, there is Rocky Face Park, where there is hiking and rock climbing. Nearby, is Emerald Hollow Mine, where you can go and find, and keep, precious stones  you find in the nearby river. 

There is also a great disk course course, Highland Hills Disc Golf Course, one of the top 25 in the country. There is fun for all ages.

Merlefest, the last weekend of April, is a world class Bluegrass festival, is located right in our town.

The Bird's Nest Over Peaceful Pastures safari tent has a queen sleigh bed, a futon/couch, an armoire, and a small table with chairs.  Many amenities.

 The first level of the Happy Hillside includes a deck, a small picnic table, and the two hammocks (included). Below this level is the outhouse, and additional seating. The tent in the photo belongs to a guest. It is not included. We have a smaller tent you can rent as an extra.

The Cozy Cottage Farm Stay, come and stay awhile. Spend time with the goats and donkeys. Sit around the fire. 

Book early for autumn colors. They usually peak mid to late October. This is my driveway.

Gather together with friends. Cook over the campfire. Laugh a lot. Listen to the creek pass by.

This is our story , well I have this land its 6.43 acres . This is how it all started there was a hippie fest going on in town and it was posted on social media . Someone posted they were looking for a place to camp but they didnt have camping at the fairgrounds where the event was . So I messaged this person and said I have a big yard maybe they could camp here but I have no facilities water toilet etc. We spoke and the gentleman said he would like to do that him and his group . I have never done anything like this  they paid me to stay ,but before I knew it I had 32 people coming here 2 pop up campers a 30 ft pull behind and 12 tents WOW . So of course I had to get the porta toilet thats how it ended up down there . The weather was threatening us so some people cancelled but in all we ended up with 16 people here it was a fun time for all . Thats when I decided to join hipcamp now we are on our hipcamp journey . My fiance Henry built a shelter and  a rain barrel water isnt drinkable , as time goes on we will be cleaning out more of the land for more camp sites . Hope y'all come visit . UPDATES !!!
