If they fight with other animals or chase chickens or ducks you may want to test this upon your arrival. Unfortunately, you must keep them on leash at all times. SPECIAL FEATURE:
As I am just beginning the camp on site experience I offer several options and additional services.
#1. Some find out after arriving that I teach NC Concealed Carry Handgun Classes. If you wish to participate in a class, it is preferred that you register before the day of the class. I will post classes on this site so that campers will know there will be shooting in the late afternoon. Some chose to camp on other weekends, some choose to go out to eat during those times, and some don't mind either way.
#2. I am also much in favor of work for camp site. Some have asked to do clean up or other small jobs for the priviledge to camp. So far this has worked out well, with one exception. Please do not accept an offer to take on a task that you do not know how to do. Example, pulling weeds or trimming if you do not know what a weed verses flower looks like. LOL
#3. There is plenty of firewood, see photos, here laying around and some trees down that will make great firewood (bring your own cutting tools.) We also sell firewood by the bundle.
#4. Being a camper here gives you the privilege of fresh veggies and fruits that are in season, as well as fresh free range eggs.
MAJOR POINT:
You must remember this is a working farm and our duties and responsibilities for the farm come first.
You must abide by the boundaries. *see map* The creek is the back boundary and should never be crossed onto my neighbors. I will not tolerate any disrespect to my neighbors, what so ever.
No! the roosters don't have an off button, neither does the jacka... donkey! When it is hay cutting time, we will cut hay. If you want to hike the property, feel free, know the boundaries and bring a machete to cut your way by the creek/stream in some areas. We have thistle trees and briars, you are welcome to cut all you wish as you go. There are spiders, bugs, and snakes etc. Black snakes, king snakes, runners, and whip snakes belong here and we ask that you do not kill them. Copperheads are here as qell and if you see one, come get me and I will dispatch it for you.

My kids’ first camping trip couldn’t have been more perfect. The rustic safari tent was cozy, charming, and set on truly beautiful grounds that felt peaceful from the moment we arrived. Great site for dogs to run, swim, and play! I’m sure kids would have a blast as well. Lots to explore.
It was quite hot (97 degrees) and the pond and creek were low, but we still had a great time. Spent most of the day near the creek where it was shady.
Salem provided water which was great, but know there’s no way to keep it cool, great to wash up as needed though.
Double check firewood availability, gas station just a few miles away has firewood for sale if needed. Plenty of fallen branches for kindling.
Clearly marked drive in, but there is a small section of questionable driving, definitely would not recommend any low clearance vehicle. We were fine in an AWD SUV, but I could see a sedan easily getting into some trouble.
Overall, great weekend and I hope to visit again soon (especially in cooler weather)!

Another great trip to the Ancient Spring Farm! Staying in the Pine Alley Campsite was wonderful, secluded, and private. The site was perfect for camping with plenty of space and flat ground. It's hard to find good spots for astrophotography on the East Coast, but on a clear night with a new moon you can see the milky way with your bare eyes from here. Can't recommend it enough!

Michelle’s place was perfect for our nine day visit. She personally welcomed us as soon as we arrived and gave us a tour around the property. Our campsite worked well for our 35 foot Class C Jeep, and we were able to park our car trailer right across from it. The campground road/trail around the park provided a nice half mile loop for walking laps with our dog, and our family enjoyed visiting us there. We highly recommend staying there.

We enjoyed the chorus of frogs in the pond, the farm animals, and hearing a summer tanager in the morning. The location was convenient to Saxapahaw and the Haw River. I saw her farm on hipcamp and was eager to stop there for the night and I booked a nights stay, but the road and the time got in the way...so I never got a chance to stay. Ancient Spring Farm is a beautiful little farm tucked away in the country. You can really tell that Rebecca has put hard work and love into every acre. The animals are playful and lively, and the chickens curious and explorative! Staying under the old shed helped keep the camper cool, and was a real blessing when storms came through! I wasn't able to do any of the farm add-ons during my trip but I'm hoping to stay again soon when I have more time and take a couple classes and tours. Really was a great stay, looking forward to coming back!

Can’t believe more people haven’t stayed here!! So quaint and reserved. Nicest host and such an expansive property with tons of trails, two docks, and hammocks to pass the time. Only two big caveats are the lack of an outhouse and no signal. Otherwise, perfect! Secluded and just the getaway I needed.

Loved the hammocks and fairy lights at night.
Things to know: we had a little trouble with the solar and with the shower. I should have just texted the host. He was super responsive. The privvy, though clean, may not be on the glam side of glamping.
