This site is gravel and level. It is in front of a babbling small creek. The site is private with robust wifi, water and 30 amp electric. The site is 40 feet in length but could probably work also for up to 50'. Slideouts are fine. There is a picnic table, gas grill, chairs and a firepit beside the site. We live on an 18 acre farm. We recently discovered the joy of traveling the US in an Airstream. When we came home after 6000+ miles, because some of our favorite sites were non-traditional ones, we decided to add a site on our farm. Enjoy the dark skies and quietness of the country. We are 10 minutes from downtown Murphy. There is only a small area of gravel which is the actual site. Everything else to get here is paved.

We just retired from Active Duty Air Force! My ancestors have owned the land our NC cabins sit on since 1836. In fact, my mother grew up there after my Grandfather returned from WWII when there was no electricity and the outhouse was a bench over the creek. I grew up hiking the mountains with my brothers and our BB guns and my Uncle Frank at our family reunions. In 2005 he deeded us a parcel of land and we built our first cabin - Smawlie. We love to come to the cabin and Hike the trails on our own property, and of course, the world famous ones that join them, namely the Bartram and the Appalachian Trails. As you explore the lake, the trails, the rivers, and the mountain roads you'll see why our ancestors settled here. In 2018 - we bought the remainder of Uncle Frank's land - and in his honor built our second cabin - Frank's Landing. Also in that year I started managing my brother Bill's cabin.
When we were stationed in Alaska for 6 heavenly years - we purchased a remote parcel of property and have slowly begun to develop it. We just completed building our cabin there.

We have owned this property since 2005. The pond is a favorite place of ours and we would love to share it with you!! We live just up the mountain are here for you via text if you need anything at all during your stay with us.
The pond is in the middle of about a 4 acre area that is totally forested & makes a great place to get away from the madness of life & get into nature. Our street ends in a cul-de-sac, minimizing traffic in the area, but the spot is right along a street. You will be able to see & hear cars going by the site. On the other hand, it is also right along a deer path & just this morning I saw 2 does & a baby walking through the site. There is a resident hawk & a gaggle of turkeys that live in the area in addition to pileated woodpeckers & all sorts of other birds.

We would love to have you at the Pond at Dogwood Acres. Our pond is just a little pond, but it is full of life and makes for a cozy little campsite. You will be the only ones camping here. There is a long parking spot suitable for cars/SUVs/trucks and even a trailer or pop up.
There are hiking trails leading into the woods at the right side of the end of the drive. Feel free to enjoy them.
We are surrounded by the Chattahoochee National Forest and here in Towns County we are 80% National Forest. Lake Chatuge is close by (less than 10 minutes) in Hiawassee has 132 miles of shoreline. The Appalachian Trail weaves all through the area and you can get to numerous access points for the AT within about 30 minutes. There are a many waterfalls throughout our area within about a 30 minute drive as well. The closest is Cupid Falls just behind Young Harris College. Fire's Creek in Hayesville is a favorite spot. Otherwise you can head towards Vogel State Park and find many more.
Head north on state road 66 heading out of Young Harris towards Warne, North Carolina. Travel almost 4 miles passing 339 and then make a right on Brasstown Lane. If you see mile marker 4 or get to Warne, you passed it. Once you turn onto Brasstown Lane it will be on the right side. Coming from North Carolina head south on 66 out of Warne and make a left onto Brasstown Lane. We are about 1 mile south of the North Carolina state line. We are somewhat in the middle of Blairsville (GA), Hiawassee (GA) and Hayeville (NC). Not far from us is the John C. Campbell Folk School in Brasstown, NC and just a bit further is Murphy, NC.

As you drive in, you will see a self-serve Farm Stand. We can bring your first load of firewood (if you order any) to your site, if you need more, you can get it at our Farm Stand. Also available are fresh eggs and other produce!
When you drive into the property to access your site, please drive straight to the field along the grassy pathway.
We have a clean toilet house. It is located between campsites 3 and 4.
Within a couple miles of our property there is mountain biking, hiking, lake access of swimming and boating. Bring your kayak to enjoy seeing Lake Nottely!
We live on the property, and it is a working homestead. We have chickens (roosters too). We ask that you keep your dogs *at your camp site at all times* (we have had camper's dogs run through the field at us and scare us to pieces and we'd rather not experience that again! lol)
Enjoy the sounds of the creek and put your tent on level land. We have firepits at each camp site. Firewood is available for purchase, just send us a message. We can deliver to your campsite. This is a great camping site. All the amenities are kept extremely clean and the store is nice too. The campground is in a beautiful area and everyone made us feel extremely welcome, especially Greg! We were able to see some newborn lambs and other cute animals on the farm as well! Can’t wait to go back!

We absolutely loved our time at The Heart Center. Liz has created such a beautiful and safe space. We hosted our own small retreat and feel like we were called to this site. Liz was an amazing host, and we will definitely be back for future retreats.
The bathrooms were really nice, the gym was nice to do activities while it rained and the meditation room was so peaceful. We felt welcomed and comfortable.

We actually didn’t end up staying here because we were in a 24 ft class C motorhome and the route I had planned to get to Tina’s involved a road that really wasn’t appropriate. Tina was very helpful, but we ended up changing our route and staying elsewhere.

Such a beautiful campground with great amenities! Loved being able to see all the farm animals and have the camp store in case we needed something. The bathhouse is maybe a minute walk from the site, but is uphill on the way back (not a killer though lol). The showers were a huge plus, warm water and great pressure! My only complaint is the ground at the site was very hard to get the tent pegs into. I’m still new to camping, so maybe there’s an easier way I’m not privy to. I’d still come back though and I’d highly recommend Winding Stair Campground!!

Andrew's sites are genuine camping experiences, basic but surrounded with the sounds of the creek flowing over rocks, a large field perfect for dog walking, a very steep road to the upper sites that we found was great exercise. We took a very small camper up the winding roads and drivers should note that there are narrow sections with no safe, pull over spots in case one meets traffic coming at you. We solved that by leaving at dawn when it seemed likely we would not meet traffic coming our way. We look forward to returning and felt sad we had to cut our reservation short this time. Absolutely beautiful land! Directions were great and easy to follow. You can tell Brian has really put a lot of thought and work into this site. The layout and natural landscape is private and perfect for a campsite. Great access to the river, lots of rocks to climb around on - our dog loved it. Very peaceful atmosphere. Brian was very friendly and went out of his way to make sure we were comfortable and safe during a storm. Can't wait to return!

We really enjoyed our stay at this site! It felt safe while still feeling private. It was a lovely escape getting to wake up to cows and chickens instead of an alarm clock :)

Such a peaceful campsite! I loved the creek and all the space we had and that it was dog friendly. Tucked far off the main road some parts of the gravel road were a little rough but overall I would highly recommend this campsite! Close to Robbinsville where we stopped for coffee and lunch.

Weekend Trip to Blue Ridge Basecamp
This was my second time staying at Nick and Tja’s campers, and I have yet to be disappointed. I booked the weekend for my boyfriend’s birthday, and we spent the day down at Lake’s End Marina (only five minutes away!), where we rented kayaks and went fishing. They also offer a sunset UTV tour, which was equally fun.
Being able to come back to the RV at the end of the day and have everything we needed to cook dinner and relax together was amazing. The Blackstone flat top and cooking tools were super convenient—we didn’t have to pack or bring our own! The grounds are extremely clean, and Nick and Tja are very responsive and helpful with any questions. The farm-fresh eggs they offer were a great addition to our breakfasts.
We will definitely be staying here again—it truly feels like a home away from home!

This truly was such a magical and beautiful campsite that was such a perfect getaway. Brian has set up everything so thoughtfully and it is such a serene place. it was so great to unplug and just listen to the creek every day. there is an incredible trail around the island that was so fun to explore and plenty of spaces to dip into the creek as well. we will absolutely be coming back and recommending it to everyone we know!

I camped two nights at the Glass House. I loved the spot, and there was plenty of room to set all my things. I pretty much had the campground to myself as it's still early in the season. I looked at all the different sites, and you can't go wrong with any of them. Great bath house, and the whole area including the farm was very neat and tidy. Highly recommend!

Very lovely campsite in a wonderful location. The creekside camping had creek sounds that made sleeping even better. It was also located in a dip in the topography so the tent wasn't blasted with sun immediately in the AM which was appreciated. Hosts were very responsive, friendly, and helpful. Would definitely stay here again.
