We carved our 43 acre horse farm out of wild swampy land in 2007 and finished the barndeminium in 2008. We started with Hipcamp 6 years ago and enjoy meeting new people. My husband is retired from the Air Force and works full time doing the chores. I retired May 2024 from being a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner at Womack Army Medical Center. I have a side hobby making homemade jams, pickles and flavored goat cheese spreads. We love the peacefulness of where we live...although the weather chickens, ducks, geese, turkeys, guinea fowl, peacocks, goats and horses do get a little loud come feeding time. We have different sites, please read each description or message me before you book a stay. All the sites have an 8pm latest check in unless you've stayed with us before. With the cold snap we have been experiencing the RV water source will freeze up over night. Please message me before booking the RV. We are constantly looking for ways to upgrade or make our farm more fun to visit.

My two siblings and me were raised here and later bought joining land that now makes up the 400 acres. We all still live on the farm with our families 1.4 mile down a dirt and gravel road. Local peach/strawberry farm (McLeod farm) with produce/gift shop/free museum/restaurant called (Big's), they have pick your own strawberries in the spring and early summer. In nearby Hartsville and Cheraw there are several golf courses and places for Kayak rentals. Neptune Island waterpark in Hartsville.   We have a hidden Creek that is fun to hike to by way of a trail. Small pond for fishing, plenty of room for hiking and bike riding ( grassy, sandy, rolling hills). Beautiful hills to camp on and watch an unobstructed view of the Carolina sunset and sunrise that peak through wooded acreage. Choose a tent camp location or pull/drive your RV/camper right near our cow pasture and watch the cows graze. Fresh drinking water at campsites. Bathroom and heated shower. Pick wild blackberries in early summer and wild grapes in late summer early fall, and we may share some of our home made jellies with you. We welcome family groups year round. At night enjoy the sounds of wildlife while watching the highly visible twinkling stars and tracing the many constellations and if lucky see a shooting star or two.

Agape Farm South is a lavender farm in Dillon, SC, just across the NC border. This is our second year and have a total of 600 plants growing. The property is 15+ total acre with a cleared 2.8 acre field of which approx 1/4 of that has the lavender. We will be adding more lavender each spring and fall. There are two orchards framing the field and property lines. This is an undeveloped rural property, there are currently to amenities. We have cut out a camping (RV or tent) in the woods on the edge of the field. The shaded spot is enclosed with dog fencing and gated with two rear exits into the woods. This means that you can pull in your camper, or car with tent equipment, close the gate and lets your dogs out. They two can experience some nature in a safe manner. This is something you cannot get in many places. There is a fire ring and firewood, table and 2 chairs. Lavender blooms in spring and summer and attracts many butterflies. The fruiting orchards will start producing fruit in 2024. Please know that this is our home away from home and our future retirement income. Please respect it and leave no trace of your presence. We are happy to share it with you. If you are in a RV/Travel Trailer, there is Bass Lake Campground right on the I95 exit for Dillon that offer water, dump station and propane for your needs. The wildlife is abundant, and although the deer ruin our row covering, we still like having them around and are creating food plots for them at the rear of the property to draw them away from the field (fingers crossed). Beautiful, private and somewhat enchanted. We felt such a sense of peace here. From the first contact with Mike, we knew it would be special. Large, private lots were scattered throughout the wooded area. Very well landscaped and looking forward to returning when everything is in bloom. If this is any indication of what our retirement will be like, we’re ready to explore now. A lot of love and care has built this place and it shows!

I brought my RV out to Michael’s place and had an incredible stay. The property is spotless—honestly looks and feels brand new and the peace and quiet out there is exactly what I needed. Michael was an awesome host, quick to respond, helpful, and genuinely welcoming. The space is open, relaxing, and very well taken care of. I’ll definitely be coming back without a doubt. Highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for a clean, quiet, and comfortable getaway.

Lovely campsite with everything needed to make life a little easier. The bathroom and shower houses were cute and clean. The surroundings felt like you were in the country, but you were only 20 minutes from town amenities. Fantastic hosts who made sure everything was perfect and very responsive to questions. So many little extras made for a great stay.

Loved this campground! First place we went to here in NC and it went by very well. The hosts take good care of the place and the amenities were everything we need. We’ll more than likely camp here again as it is close by to us yet secluded enough to feel like we’re far away, as well as being peaceful and nice. Was also able to use my service (T-Mobile) when needed.

I loved tent camping at Melissa's. Safe and beautiful for the family to spend time here. It's away from noise and traffic. Only sounds were an occasional moo and heehaw. Shower house and toilet house made camping with children a good experience.

It was very quiet and private, yet close enough to town with great restaurants and the Darlington Raceway (we came for the NASCAR race) that it wasn’t inconvenient. The host was there to help ensure our Airstream got hooked up properly and was so kind. We would absolutely stay here again. Thank you for a wonderful stay and great memories!
