Hi! We're Matt and Kayla! We bought a farm and started learning about farming in 2020 after a good friend of ours passed away from cancer and we started talking through what it would look like to try something we've always wanted to try. We knew nothing about it previously so welcome to our adventure! There are a lot of camping spots on our property and you can choose anywhere you'd like. The top of our ridge called "soil road" used to be the main traveling path back in the settler days. The house at the bottom of our driveway used to be the towns post office, and there is a cave back on the creek where soldiers during the civil war camped out in. We are a working farm during the day so if you choose to walk down the ridge you'll find outside working with the animals or in the flower or produce garden. There is a lot of great fishing in the creek so make sure to bring your rod! We love pets so yours are welcome, and there are a lot of hiking trails and cute towns around us.

I really enjoyed being at Paul’s. His property is pristine. It’s beautiful, quiet, and secluded. Paul himself is generous and great company! I was only looking for a layover spot but after my stay this will definitely be one of my future stops. Paul even gave a tour of his own home; an old church he restored himself. 12/10 stay!

3 nights at Golden Spot
The campsite was in a lovely wooded area not too close to the house ( which is actually an old church that Paul converted into a home). Only a few minutes from historic Gold Hill.
Paul, our host was really friendly. Greeted us when we arrived and gave us local eatery tips. His dogs were friendly too! If we come back to the area, we'll definitely stay here again.

I love this farm space and Rebecca who runs it. I rented the pine run site. Spacious and comfortable. Walks around the farms are beautiful feeding a friendly horse and saying hi to the goats and chickens.
Rebecca offers breakfasts st a reasonable fee but i missed that during my second visit here.
You cant miss out on visiting here.

Absolutely beautiful spot! 🌲 The scenery is stunning, peaceful, and the whole area feels tucked away from the world. It’s incredibly quiet — the perfect place to relax and take in God’s creation. 🙌
You can definitely hear a shooting range in the distance, but it’s not overwhelming — just part of the charm of the area. And yes, the local rooster makes sure you don’t oversleep! 🐓😂
Overall, a wonderful stay — we’ll definitely be back! 🏕️🔥

The property was beyond expectations! Beautiful views, peaceful & quiet. We stayed at the site to the right. Our dogs enjoyed watching the farm animals and running through the fields. Matt checked in on us on our second day which we appreciated. Privacy without feeling secluded. We highly recommended Matthew’s Land!

It was a really beautiful property and the host was very nice. There were two cleared areas to camp with fire pits and the one we had (there was already another group at the other site) was not level, there was no picnic table, and long grass around the fire pit. I get this is primitive camping, but it would have been nice to know so we could have brought our own table. We didn’t have the means to carry a picnic table the distance from the other site. The creek was very nice, but we didn’t feel comfortable bringing our car down there without 4WD and there was very long grass and no fire pit to camp. It was an easy walk down there though to explore. Phenomenal views and stars at night, just wish the listing said it wasn’t a level spot and there was no table so we were prepared better

This was a great site! Beautiful views and clear open spaces for plenty of sun during the day and plenty of stars at night. The firepit was nicely built and there was plenty of space to set up. Awesome little hike down to the stream. Highly recommend this site! The dogs seemed to approve too lol

Paul has a great piece of property with all of the amenities… level pad, power, lights, good water, a shower if you want it, a lovely gazebo with twinkle-lights and a firepit.
And as an extra bonus… 3 welcoming & well-behaved dogs. My own dog had a fabulous time playing with them. Plenty of room to run around and minimal traffic on the access road.
You’re thru Gold Hill in the blink of an eye, but looks like it would be worth a visit.

I loved tent camping at pine valley location. The long morning walk to the barn was perfect with a cup of coffee. Rebecca went above and beyond for my 7 and 8 year old. John met us at the farm and was very informative, told us the history of his farm and what all him and his wife do for the community. He gave me and my wife a tour of his farm and let us feed the animals. The site was very level and had a firepit. I highly recommend staying here and will most likely return in the future.
