Group camping area accessible by 4 wheel drive vehicles. You may walk down and camp by the creek from here if you wish. Groups up to 25 people allowed for $100 a night. I have made some changes... we currently have stumps and cuttings available for your use in making a campfire, no charge. I would like to encourage group camping here since it is a perfect set up for that. This is the place to get all your friends together in one place or have the whole place to yourself. We have a portable toilet centrally located on the property at this time. The Uwharrie Hideout aka the Haunted Hideout is located in the Uwharrie National Forest . 10,000 years ago inhabitants were the Uwharrie Indian Tribe. The area was mined for gold before the California Gold Rush. There are 50 old mines within 15 miles. There are many interesting trails around the area and endless recreation opportunities. Wood Run mountain bike trails to the South and Badin Lake Recreation Area OHV and equestrian trails to the North. ShingleTrap Mountain to the West and Buck Mountain to the East. Zoar Cemetary & Morris Mountain are just a few miles NE

It was great for off road teardrop trailers. Easily accessible to nearby recreation and super private. The host was responsive and helpful.

Best Camping In The Uwharries
Elizabeth has an ideal set up for camping! She is super communicative and helpful, and lets you make yourself at home. The sites, the views, the welcome are the best you’ll have in the Uwharries. We’ll be back!

For the camper seeking a no-frills, peaceful country escape camping experience then this is your place. Elizabeth and her family were kind and welcoming during my trip, offering a unique history of the area and their beautiful land. From the sunset views up to hill to the calm serenity of the campsite creek and friendly horses and dogs that freely roam the property, I enjoyed my time there!

Uwharrie Hideout
Great spot for dispersed camping near Uwharrie National Forest, we camped in the valley part of the grounds and it provided protection from the wind and all the privacy. The creekside section would be great for tent camping or one to two cars and the hill location had a good view of the farm with space for tents or a couple cars. Host came out to say Hi once we rolled in and asked if we needed anything then let us setup camp.

Uwharrie Hideout
The campsite was very secluded and very large, would highly recommend for a large group. We met Frank (I believe was his name) and his grandson who were very nice. Hoping Frank won the fishing tournament he had that weekend!
