Dogpatch Farms is a farm offering Broad River access( canoe portage under construction but usable) campsites with the goal of making camping affordable again. We aren’t shooting for fancy or flashy just a clean quiet spaces and friendly safe environment where a person or group can enjoy nature without breaking the bank.
We have one space for a RV/Camper with power water and septic dump ( down by the Barndo) and only a few with power and water only ( up by the well house)($60 and $40 per night respectively).
Primitive areas vary from hillside, river side and open field all of which have an indoor toilet access and outside ( soon inside too) shower.
Barndo is an active construction zone as we turn it into a full facility with cooking and laundry benefits so don’t expect fancy but that’s not our goal.
Expect to see a sweet dog, a goat and probably a chicken ( and even enjoying a free egg) and definitely a tractor.
Have a good time but I don’t tolerate stupid and you are expected to not leave a mess like a true outdoorsman should.
There is an of wildlife including beavers, turkeys( roosting in the valley), deer and such to see because of our low impact approach so observe but don’t harass.

My property consists of a ridge running east to west with the access road running along the south border. the land slopes up to the ridge for about 300 feet, and then down to the river for about 800 feet. The south side of the ridge has a small pond close to the road. The rest is pasture, and an orchard and small vineyard. The north side of the ridge is old growth timber, and shady and cool. The two cabins are along the river. One is perched on a ridge over looking the river and the other is right on the river. The swimming hole is 30 feet from the lower cabin. There is room for a couple campsites along the river also. The south side of the ridge was a cotton farm decades ago, but was covered in timber when I bought it 12 years ago. The north side has been in timber for the known history of the property.

The property consists of 93 acres and 2780 feet (1⁄2 mile) of river frontage on the First Broad River. The First Broad River offers canoeing, kayaking, tubing, and fishing. Smallmouth and freshwater sunfishing is incredible on this stretch of the river and there are also opportunities for mountain river catfish.
Tellurian’s scenic location offers stunning vista views of the surrounding countryside, sprawling views of the South Mountain and Cherry Mountain ranges, as well as long range views of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The sunsets are amazing and the star lit skies are uninhibited by city lights. One of the few lights that can be seen at night lights up a steeple silhouetted against the mountain ridges. It’s truly a peaceful site.
Tellurian is centrally located between Charlotte NC, Asheville NC, and Spartanburg SC in the small town of Casar, NC. We are located in a rural setting in the foothills on the edge of the South Mountains Range, a branch of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

We have always enjoyed quiet secluded campsites, river floats and sitting by the river. After years of looking all over the mountains for a river property we could call our own, our favorite spot on the river came up for sale. It just so happened it was nearly halfway between where we both grew up. After many sleepless nights worrying if we could succeed or not (it was much larger than properties we had been looking for), we bought it! Our favorite spot on the river was virtually inaccessible by any way other than floating. But after hundreds of hours of hard work, we think we have developed a place where others too can enjoy the things we do about the property. We dream big and Tellurian remains a work in progress, but we feel we have created a place where folks can enjoy the peacefulness of nature, the river and incredible views.
Naming our campground proved to be one of the most challenging tasks throughout the process of developing it. After many ideas and brainstorming sessions as a family, we decided to go with Tellurian. We know it’s a bit different; that’s what we like about it. We think our place stands out and, after visiting Tellurian, we think you’ll agree it does too.

Cell service is a little sketchy here but we do offer a wifi hot spot for you to stay connected to outside world and a place to charge your phone.
If you a motorcyclist you might have come to enjoy the motorcycle mecca of our area. One of the favorite and well known rides is “The Diamondback on NC 226A, starting in Marion NC. This ride is only 22 miles from our camp. There is also The Blue Ridge Parkway and Lake James Loop that includes “The Devil’s Staircase. Make The Earth Center Camp your base. We do offer long term parking for those who have trailered their bikes here.
The Earth Center offers guest the opportunity to reserved the entire ground for their private event. Go to "Earth Center Campground and Retreat" to reserved for your group
Camp Policy:
1.For your safety our gates are kept locked. Our business hours are 8am to 10pm. No check-ins before 8am or departures after 10pm. During your stay with us ,entries and exits must be coordinated with the office so we can open the gate for you. Please let us know when booking what time we can expect your arrival, If for some reason you need to come or go during non business hours, check with us to make special arrangements.

We enjoyed camping on Zoe and April’s land so much! A groups of 3 of us stayed for 2 nights while attending a class nearby. Our campsite was the grove and it was so tranquil with the sound of the creek, crickets, and many whippoorwills. There was plenty of room for a few tents and a fire pit/grate for cooking and hanging out. We loved exploring the woods area and the pond. Also really nice to have the bathhouse and shed a short walk away. The hosts were so welcoming and helpful. Will definitely be back again!

I like how the campground is constantly improving and offers a variety of sites-you can tent camp, car, or stay in a dome. Great, private site. It’s secure with a gate and lock. You can walk down to the creek and splash around down there. There are cute solar powered lights that turn on at dusk. There is a small bathroom that you have to use liners in.

Weekend Trip to Starlight Hills
We had a lot of fun! I’m not a camper but my boyfriend is so I booked a camping trip that felt like the best of both worlds for his birthday! It was as close to real camping with a touch of glamping as you can get! I do wish the string lights were still up at the campsite! We were in MTG 5 and it was nice and secluded since our family also rented the little cabin next to us! Would highly recommend visiting :) we will be returning for a few days soon since we know we like it! Host is also great and has great communication!

What an awesome place to camp. We have a 26 foot camper and we had no trouble getting in or out. Having the lake all to ourselves. Our dogs loved it. They had the run of the place. Its a nice walk around the pond. My husband caught a couple of really nice bass, and some blue gils. Fishing was great, so much fun. There is a little noise pollution, with main roads around but you cant see any of that. And most of it ends at 5pm quitting time.Neil is a great host. He accommodated us with our large camper by making side driveways so we wouldn't hit any overhanging limbs I would recommend Lakeside retreat. We will be back

I loved it. Luna Dome was the most expensive site $250/night. No bathroom or water but you can’t beat the view. You still have to use bath house which is down at the entrance so it’s a nice walk or short all terrain drive. Bed was comfy and Bluetooth capability was a nice modern touch.
My only complaints are: the campground is near a main mountain road. Not a great deal of traffic but you can definitely hear the semis engine braking at night. And the dogs (wild?) barking somewhere in the valley till the middle of the night was a little disturbing. But the view supersedes all of that. Try it for yourself!

We absolutely loved our time at Starlight Hills Campground. We stopped for a night to take a break from the road and our only regret is not planning to stay longer. Starlight Campground has stunningly beautiful views, immaculate campsites, and offers a wide array of camping options. From cabins, to yurts, to tent sites, Starlight has it all. Our camper site was perfectly level making setting up our popup camper a breeze! We enjoyed a fabulous sunset from the hammocks at the food court and settled in back at camp around a fire in the provided pit. We could not have asked for better!

First let me say that William was a very accommodating and gracious host. Upon our first meeting we knew right away that we would have a nice time. William is also doing some projects that are really going to set his site way above par. He already has nice showers and a spa and is now building a new facility for 2 bathrooms and 2 showers. If you like tent camping, there are plenty of sites for that. If RVing is your thing, he has sites for that. Or maybe you like glamping in a dome...well people William has you covered. He has many glamping sites and is opening up more. Great views from the overlook! Overlook includes a children's playground area, grills, hammocks, picnic tables and yes, the wonderful view. William even has vending machines if you need water, soda, Gatorade, or if you need a midnight snack, there is a vending machine with chips, granola bars, and yes even charging cables and battery packs just in case you forgot yours and left it at home. There is also a charging station for you to use with a USB on one end. He even has a wood vending area..yep firewood. He has thought of all the things you haven't. We spent 3 days and nights with our 5 furbabies (Huskies) and William made sure he came to say hello to them. With all that said, William is a great host! When construction men came to work on the new well for the new facility, William came and personally offered us an apology and a day refund. Great place and better host! Definitely going back!

Weekend Trip to Adin`s river cabin
Adin’s river side cabin is a solitude paradise if that’s what you’re in need of! Or a family trip of great memories! The area is secluded and private with plenty of room to spread out! I wanted to get away and soak in the cool river before the heat of the summer sets in! And this was absolutely perfect. The indoor bathroom is the smallest shower I’ve ever seen in my life, but like Adin says sailor shower! It gets the job done. There is an outhouse that did not appear to be in use and has space in the back for an outdoor shower that I would totally utilize if I go again, just for the convenience and privacy it offers! The river access is just incomparable for the price. Hurricane Helene did make the beach area and cliff a little more perilous than original. But Adin has made a deck and a roped walkway where you can tube, soak or just sit and enjoy. And it has steps also into the water. The multi level decks offer the most peaceful views. Top deck for sunning, 2nd for morning coffee or lunch, 3rd for the bbq dinner, and a swing on the bottom that I used a lot!! Once even to wait out a rain shower before getting back in the river! The VHS collection is amazing and really makes you feel like its an unplugged vacation! Close to parks and falls and great views! Adin even had a suggestion for a local lady who could give me directions to a different local spot! I could have stayed a week or more! The 2nd deck even has a removable doggy door to keep the pups from running! Perfect!
