This place is amazing! The property is beautiful, Natalie and Darrell are the best hosts. They did this Hipcamp right! We've been to 6 other Hipcamps and The Dancing Pig is, by far, our favorite!

We had another great weekend at the meadow. The grandkids fished and play all day and enjoyed their s'mores at night around the campfire. The site includes the use of the campers cabin with a bathroom and sink along with the outdoor shower. Those extra comforts make it a special place to enjoy the camping experience.

Private, quiet and amazing atmosphere. Hosts were very friendly, helpful and assisted when and if needed. Onsite power (30 or 50 AMP) was great and onsite water, private shower was an amazing touch. Great experience would stay again. Monroe’s from Alaska.

My mother, sister and niece (7 yrs old) absolutely loved this place for my nieces first camping trip. They have gone above and beyond to make a beautiful place to stay and to make you feel right at home. I suggest using the wood, charcoal and ice they provide at a low cost. It just makes easier for yourself and they will deliver it right to you. We loved it so much we already booked the cabin for fall camping in October. We cannot wait to escape the heat of the coast in early October and enjoy the fall at The Dancing Pig.

We rented 'The Whole Enchilada' for 7 families with kids ranging from 4 to 7 years of age. It was the perfect way to initiate them to tent camping and they all loved it. We can't wait to go back. Wes and Kaitlin are superb hosts, very responsive and accommodating.

1 night at Sugarneck Glamping Resort, NC

The accomodations were excellent! You would not find a hotel as well appointed as this site, and it still would not contain the ambiance nor character of the setting. I will definitely be staying at Sugarneck again!

Phillip's property was absolutely perfect! Great shade throughout the day, but plenty of sun around too for solar or warming up after a chilly night. The most private/peaceful hipcamp on my journey this spring. The outdoor shower was perfect with plenty of hot water. The small bathhouse was so nice, with fridge and freezer space if needed as well. (Every hipcamp should offer this to travelers!!) I slept soundly after watching fireflies dance around the pond and listening to the frog symphony. I absolutely hope to stay again sometime!!

3 nights at The Dancing Pig On Abbotts Creek

We loved staying in the little cabin! Peaceful and relaxing property with farm animals. My son and I had a great time kayaking, cooking outdoors and sitting by the fire at night. Definitely would plan another trip back! Darrel and Natalie were great hosts!

Our stay was great. The love shake was a great size four two and two dogs. She has very helpful amenities throughout the camp spot. The dogs loved the creak and the trail. The trail was about a 15 minute walk, a must do. She was very responsive and accomidating. The outhouse looks intimidating on the pictures but it was very nice. Clean and no odor at all. The showers were great, clean and plenty of hot water.

A small homestead on the bank of Abbotts Creek near where it feeds into High Rock Lake. Peace and solitude , but close to the amenities of town. Less than a five minute drive to the grocery store, and less than a fifteen minute drive to uptown Lexington. Public access for kayaks is less than half a mile away. And the view is unbelievable! We have a corn hole board and bags now available for use, as well as a few other yard games. Please let us know if you are interested in using them. The edible landscape is available for you to enjoy. A list of current available items is posted in our greenhouse, as well as baskets for picking and foraging.

The Saxapahaw Country Club is a beautiful 31-acre working farm and event space. Located just a few minutes from Saxapahaw Village, it's a convenient and gorgeous place to stay. While we are happy to be a late-night crash spot for after shows at the Haw River Ballroom, we hope you stay a minute to walk the fields, hang in the hammocks, sit by the pond, or take a swing from the branches of our 200 year old White Oak tree. You'll come down our curvy driveway through the trees, and see our event barn on the left. In front of the barn is a communal space for campers to enjoy with a great view. This area has a fire pit, chairs, wood-fired grill, handwashing station, and farm table. The shared outhouse/composting toilet is next to the pine stand with a white roof. Please note, this farm stay is an agritourism activity subject to the limit of liabilities as described in N.C.G.S § 99E‑32(b). We have sheep and pigs and a donkey rotating through pastures behind electric fencing. You are welcome to look but don't touch the fence! We also have 3 very friendly farm cats. Pork and lamb from the farm is available for purchase, as well as kiln-dried firewood. Nearby activities: Entertainment: Catch big acts at the nearby Haw River Ballroom venue or enjoy free live music at Saturdays in Saxapahaw. Shop vintage, records, VHS and more at Saxy-a-Go-Go. Our farm is a beautiful, private 25 acres with an 1830s house, outbuildings, animals, orchards, gardens, pastures, old trees, wildlife habitat, a spring, and woods. Here you can relax; watch nature; meet our chickens, goats, horse, cats, and dog; learn about archaeology, history, plants, and mead making; and get eggs and homegrown seasonal food. Listen to birdsong and watch clouds during the day, wander a path through our ca. 5 acres of woods, see fireflies in the evening, and star watch at night. Nearby are hiking, horseback riding, historical sites, fishing, antiques, wineries, shooting, and more. We are located in a rural area and have many different domesticated and wild animals so you may hear diverse animal noises and see or smell animal poop, although we try to keep things clean and tidy. Our neighbors have dogs, cattle, and chickens/roosters and occasionally shoot guns during daylight hours (one neighbor is a sporting club with skeet shooting and hunting dogs) but typically our farm is a quiet and peaceful place. We mow regularly and our rooster and chicken ladies wander far and wide eating bugs but, in the summer, they can't get every mosquito and tick so please plan accordingly for your own comfort.

My farm had been untouched for years and only used as hay farming. It is rolling hills known by the locals as "Butterfly Hill" Which the farm is home to many species of butterflies in the summer. I know the area was inhabited by native Americans many decades ago. I have found a few broken arrow heads over the years. The farm is beautiful and quiet. I have a beautiful hiking trail around the property for you to take your fur babies on. The cabin is right on a beautiful stream too. There are several state parks nearby and river tubing within 10 -30 minutes. Hot showers and potable water just a few feet away.
