It’s a kinda bumpy mountain road to get there but it’s also like driving through an enchanted forest. The secluded location, peaceful and breathtaking views make this place a must-see adventure.

Please read the entire listing because I have updated this page. The booking is for 2 people, any guest after the initial 2 or pet will be $10 per night. Add them as extra guests Pull down a paved road and get out of your car and sit down at a picnic table in front of a private waterfall! This site has a pull through, full hookup spot with 30amp for campers but tents are always welcome or a combination of the two. I've had a 33' camper, popup camper and 6 tents at this campsite all at the same time so there plenty of room for your family and friends! We're 2.5 miles from the Cherokee Casino and 3.5 miles from down town Cherokee If you're tired of crowded campgrounds then you'll love the privacy this campground offers. This is now a two site campground with each site being around 100' away from the other site with trees and vegetation growing in between, you more or less cant see on site from the other from May until November. There is a orange cone that marks the border of the two sites. One set of campers will not be allowed on the other campers campsite, if this happens you will be evicted with no refund. Check in is at 2pm and check out is at 12pm. No shooting firearms, (although you may hear people shooting firearms because you will be camping in the mountains) but your more than welcome to bring your firearms. Its better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it.   No fireworks. No making trails or collecting firewood (This is not because I want to sell you firewood, its because I want to have the property remain as pristine as possible) Do not cut down trees alive or dead  If you move picnic tables please move them back Dogs are permitted but message me first to see if your do will be a good fit. There is a small Church around 200 yards from the campground. They hold services every Wednesday and Sunday. They generally start around 5pm and it lasts around a hour. If your into that they would love to have you come down. The EBCI opened a dispensary around 3 miles from the campground. It will open to all adults over 21 starting September 7th 2024. The Blue Line Grill is also a delicious option if you are looking for a good burger. If you are looking for adventure in nature in the Appalachian Mountains, the Cherohala Skyway, Indian Boundary Lake, Bald River Falls, Tellico River, Big Bear tubing, Citico Creek, and other scenic waterfalls and hiking trails are a short drive away. The Lost Sea underground cave and lake adventure is a 24 minute drive, Fort Loudon State Historic Park is a 36 minute drive, and the Blue Ridge Mountains are located nearby as well. If you are looking an adventure in the city, Knoxville is located an hour drive east and Chattanooga is located an hour drive west. Pigeon Forge is located 1.5 hours away, Gatlinburg is located 2 hours away, Cades Cove is located 2 hours away, and Newfound Gap and Kuwohi (Clingman’s Dome) in the Great Smoky Mountains are located about 2.5 hours away. Bryson City, NC is located 2 hours away. There is so much to do if you are looking for an adventure! Access the Starr Mountain Camp entrance off Mecca Pike, just west of Daugherty Springs Rd across from Shady Grove Church and Cemetery and one-way pull through exit onto Daughtery Springs Rd at the end of your stay. Site 1 is situated on the top level layout and ideal for larger campers and trailers. Site 2 and 3 are situated on the middle level layout and ideal for mid-sized campers and trailers. Site 4, 5, and 6 are situated on the lower level layout and ideal for mid-sized and smaller-sized campers and trailers. There is no community bathhouse. All ages are welcome. Pets on leash are welcome. Check in time is 11 AM and Check out time is 4 PM but ask the host if you need accommodations on check in or check out timing. Quiet period between 10 PM and 7 AM and peace and rest for all is a priority at our mini camp. Host family asks that you keep the property in the same state that you found it, so please pick up your trash and animal droppings. Please do not chop down any trees or branches or affix anything foreign to them and do not leave any items in the creek. There are no fish in the property creek but Tellico River is ideal and just a short drive away. Vehicle parking is located just off Site 1 on the Mecca Pike side so you can enjoy an unobstructed view mountain view. The Cove consists of 12 acres with a tributary stream and spring fed ponds less than a half mile from the Toccoa River. It was originally the water source for the surrounding properties prior to the city installing a water system. It is completely private and unspoiled nature, with about a mile of walking trails throughout. The Mountaintop is a 3 acre high elevation site bordering 140 acres of undisturbed woods and is also very close to the Toccoa River. Fantastic location yet very private for base camp to access the many activities in this area, or enjoy the Toccoa River. It is the only campground in Fannin County limited to only one group at a time. Each site includes 2 access points to the Toccoa River. The Gibbs Drive community river access lot has a charcoal grill, picnic table, boat launch, swimming rock and fire pit with chairs. The Toccoa River Forest community river access lot has a big boat ramp. The river is controlled flow and usually at low water from dawn to about 2 pm, ideal for fishing or swimming/wading/boulder bopping. The River release schedule is available online at the website TVA.gov. The River has swift current when the dam is opened for release, usually daily. This property is conveniently located in Mineral Bluff, Georgia 30559, just 4 miles off the 4-lane highway (Highway 515/76) and just a short drive to Blue Ridge, Georgia; Blairsville, Georgia; Murphy, North Carolina, McCaysville, Georgia and Copper Hill, Tennessee. It is a paved road drive all the way to the entrance. The cabin itself was built using rough sawn wood acquired from a local sawmill. Many of the items used in the cabin came from local shops or antique stores. There is a 2000-watt Solar Generator in the cabin that can be used for lights, charging cell phones, and running the pump for the shower. The Solar Panels are enough to charge the Generator to 100% each day. Rainwater is used for showers. The gutter system on the cabin is used to catch rainwater. The downspout runs into a "First Flush Diverter", which allows any dust, dirt, or anything else that might land on the roof between the rainstorms to be diverted away from the water storage tank. The clean rainwater then fills the water storage tank. Be aware that Rainwater is fine for showers, but is not meant for drinking. Propane is connected to a space heater and the shower. The space heater is 17,000 BTUs, which is plenty for colder nights. The shower has an at-source water heater and can heat the water up to 120 degrees, which is more than enough for a hot shower. A porta potty is provided for bathroom purposes and is cleaned and restocked every Thursday. Pets are allowed! The following items are provided: 1. Linens 2. Towels 3. There is plenty of room for the fire pit, vehicles, animals, and any outdoor games you might want to bring (cornhole). Both Bryson City and Franklin are fairly close to the cabin. Bryson City is approximately 20 minutes away, while Franklin is approximately 30 minutes away. Both towns offer great little downtown areas that have shopping and restaurants. Don't be afraid to try the food trucks, they have some of the best food. Bryson City has many trails for hiking such as the Road to nowhere, Noland Divide Trail, Three Waterfalls Loop (FYI: There are three waterfalls on this trail), and Deep Creek Waterfall Loop. The fishing in Bryson City is also great and the guided trips are very reasonably priced. I would suggest going in the morning and doing a float trip. Franklin is bigger and a little more spread out than Bryson city, but there are a lot of neat little stores and restaurants. I personally like going to the Currahee Brewing Company. Currahee is right on the river and is set up to host live bands and it gets pretty lively in the late afternoons and evenings on the weekends. Other things to note One of the things you would want to bring is a 1 lb propane bottle for the Torch that is provided. Using the torch to start a fire is much easier than kindling. The solar generator has enough power to run the small coffee pot if you don't want to use the percolator. The generator also has enough power to run hair dryers. The main thing you want to keep in mind is anything that uses a heating element will drain the battery quickly. Lanterns are provided If needed. Overall, you should be good to go, but it is something to keep in mind.

Add them as extra guests Pull down a paved road and get out of your car and sit down at a picnic table in front of a private waterfall! This site has a pull through, full hookup spot with 30amp for campers but tents are always welcome or a combination of the two. I've had a 33' camper, popup camper and 6 tents at this campsite all at the same time so there plenty of room for your family and friends! We're 2.5 miles from the Cherokee Casino and 3.5 miles from down town Cherokee If you're tired of crowded campgrounds then you'll love the privacy this campground offers. This is now a two site campground with each site being around 100' away from the other site with trees and vegetation growing in between, you more or less cant see on site from the other from May until November. There is a orange cone that marks the border of the two sites. One set of campers will not be allowed on the other campers campsite, if this happens you will be evicted with no refund. Check in is at 2pm and check out is at 12pm. No shooting firearms, (although you may hear people shooting firearms because you will be camping in the mountains) but your more than welcome to bring your firearms. Its better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it.   No fireworks. No making trails or collecting firewood (This is not because I want to sell you firewood, its because I want to have the property remain as pristine as possible) Do not cut down trees alive or dead  If you move picnic tables please move them back Dogs are permitted but message me first to see if your do will be a good fit. There is a small Church around 200 yards from the campground. They hold services every Wednesday and Sunday. They generally start around 5pm and it lasts around a hour. If your into that they would love to have you come down. The EBCI opened a dispensary around 3 miles from the campground. It will open to all adults over 21 starting September 7th 2024. The Lost Sea underground cave and lake adventure is a 24 minute drive, Fort Loudon State Historic Park is a 36 minute drive, and the Blue Ridge Mountains are located nearby as well. If you are looking an adventure in the city, Knoxville is located an hour drive east and Chattanooga is located an hour drive west. Pigeon Forge is located 1.5 hours away, Gatlinburg is located 2 hours away, Cades Cove is located 2 hours away, and Newfound Gap and Kuwohi (Clingman’s Dome) in the Great Smoky Mountains are located about 2.5 hours away. Bryson City, NC is located 2 hours away. There is so much to do if you are looking for an adventure! Access the Starr Mountain Camp entrance off Mecca Pike, just west of Daugherty Springs Rd across from Shady Grove Church and Cemetery and one-way pull through exit onto Daughtery Springs Rd at the end of your stay. Site 1 is situated on the top level layout and ideal for larger campers and trailers. Site 2 and 3 are situated on the middle level layout and ideal for mid-sized campers and trailers. Site 4, 5, and 6 are situated on the lower level layout and ideal for mid-sized and smaller-sized campers and trailers. There is no community bathhouse. All ages are welcome. Pets on leash are welcome. Check in time is 11 AM and Check out time is 4 PM but ask the host if you need accommodations on check in or check out timing. Quiet period between 10 PM and 7 AM and peace and rest for all is a priority at our mini camp. Host family asks that you keep the property in the same state that you found it, so please pick up your trash and animal droppings. Please do not chop down any trees or branches or affix anything foreign to them and do not leave any items in the creek. There are no fish in the property creek but Tellico River is ideal and just a short drive away. Vehicle parking is located just off Site 1 on the Mecca Pike side so you can enjoy an unobstructed view mountain view. One vehicle is recommended but ask host for accommodations if a second vehicle is needed. About your Host: Starr Mountain Camp is family operated and lives on the property. The Cove consists of 12 acres with a tributary stream and spring fed ponds less than a half mile from the Toccoa River. It was originally the water source for the surrounding properties prior to the city installing a water system. The Mountaintop is a 3 acre high elevation site bordering 140 acres of undisturbed woods and is also very close to the Toccoa River. The river is controlled flow and usually at low water from dawn to about 2 pm, ideal for fishing or swimming/wading/boulder bopping. The River release schedule is available online at the website TVA.gov. The River has swift current when the dam is opened for release, usually daily. This property is conveniently located in Mineral Bluff, Georgia 30559, just 4 miles off the 4-lane highway (Highway 515/76) and just a short drive to Blue Ridge, Georgia; Blairsville, Georgia; Murphy, North Carolina, McCaysville, Georgia and Copper Hill, Tennessee. It is a paved road drive all the way to the entrance. Bryson City is approximately 20 minutes away, while Franklin is approximately 30 minutes away. Both towns offer great little downtown areas that have shopping and restaurants. Don't be afraid to try the food trucks, they have some of the best food. Bryson City has many trails for hiking such as the Road to nowhere, Noland Divide Trail, Three Waterfalls Loop (FYI: There are three waterfalls on this trail), and Deep Creek Waterfall Loop. The fishing in Bryson City is also great and the guided trips are very reasonably priced. I would suggest going in the morning and doing a float trip. Franklin is bigger and a little more spread out than Bryson city, but there are a lot of neat little stores and restaurants. I personally like going to the Currahee Brewing Company. Currahee is right on the river and is set up to host live bands and it gets pretty lively in the late afternoons and evenings on the weekends. Other things to note One of the things you would want to bring is a 1 lb propane bottle for the Torch that is provided. Using the torch to start a fire is much easier than kindling. The solar generator has enough power to run the small coffee pot if you don't want to use the percolator. The generator also has enough power to run hair dryers. The main thing you want to keep in mind is anything that uses a heating element will drain the battery quickly. Lanterns are provided If needed. Overall, you should be good to go, but it is something to keep in mind.

Another great trip to the Cove! For anyone who comes right after us, we set up your first fire logs in the firepit. We brought our own firewood but you’ll find enough logs in the wood crib to do about two fires, plus the giant stumps that are great to prolong the fire if you can get one going. George also has a bale of pine straw in there which is super helpful to get a fire started. My whole review is about fires, can you tell it was cold while we were there haha! Saw several deer and hawks. Lots of stars and quiet.

We had an excellent time camping at Lil Snowbird Farm. The campsites were exceptionally clean and well kept. We stayed in site #6 along the river and it was just beautiful and felt very private! We enjoyed cooking over the campfire and eating at the picnic table. The host was amazing and ensured we had everything we needed. The camp toilets had their own small tent for privacy and even had small solar lights to help you find them in the dark. 10/10 would recommend camping here!

Hut or Tent, your choice. We just added the tent platform and it is your choice as to tent platform or Hut. They are about a football field away from each other. Get away from it all on a secluded mature wooded hill twenty minutes from the Ococee River. You can feel how old the Appalachian mountains are here. Remote enough and private but no 4WD needed (flat terrain to parking) and enough neighbors if needed (road running through property leads to subdivision by Apalachia Lake so has traffic on it.) To the right of the road is a creek and bog, to the left we have several acres of woods to explore and relax in. You will see an occasional car on the private road that runs below the Hut but on the hill, you will have complete privacy. Please note we have not yet added a firepit or compost toilet to the tent platform so you will be needing to go to the Hut for both of those. You can get to the Hut from the Platform along the road or through the woods. It is a beautiful place to chill and hang out that we are happy to share with you. Three of ten acres to the right of the road that runs through our property are a bog that runs along a creek with the creek joining wild remote Apalachia Lake. (Pretty much unpassable Nature saying keep out.) But enjoy hiking and exploring our seven gently sloping mature wood hills. There are also lots of well maintained dirt hillside roads for exploring or biking. Enjoy our Baba Yaga hut with only the bare necessities but you will be flat, dry and able to enjoy the woods all to yourself. Or the Tent Platform pretty much complete privacy. When one is rented, we take the other off the calendar so you get the entire place to yourself. Come explore and then chill away from it all.

Cowee Valley is a gorgeous scenic valley with farmland and winding roads and mountains on all sides. Idyllic drive in with plenty of cows grazing, deer and wild turkey running around and amazing sunsets. Cowee Campground has newly been made into a campground, previously undeveloped. We have left most of it undisturbed to maintain the natural and peaceful nature vibes. This land is a short distance off the main roads and small/private. All tent sites are in the shaded forest and RV hookups are just a few steps away with hardwoods filling out and providing partial shade. It's a quiet area with the sounds of nature and leaves rustling. We hope you'll appreciate and enjoy the beauty and tranquility as much as we do. If you want to car/truck camp without hookups we have space for that too. Just let us know. We have a beautiful 4 bathroom bathhouse, with ADA shower and another bathroom with clawfoot tub/shower and private back deck. 2 large firepits with Andirondack chairs and a separate picnic table and grill area. There is a large communal Yoga/Event deck and covered Bar/Hangout area beneath - hammock, bar top, darts and it's own firepit as well. Plus Corn hole and Horseshoe pits for your enjoyment.
