About the Property: Our unique property boasts quiet camping on a beautifully manicured MotoTrials Riding and Obstacle Play Course. 2025 marked our first year offering camping to the public, and we look forward to HipCampers joining us in our unique venue. All 4 camping sites are nestled into the Obstacle course. Trials riders and non-Trials Riders alike will find much to enjoy here. Campers unfamiliar with Trial are welcome to take advantage of a Lesson on one of our Rental Bikes, while the Obstacle Course is also super-fun on foot (for walks or runs), mountain bike, trials bicycle, or for playing with your RC toy! We have night lighting to turn on at your request, even if just to sit in the evening and enjoy the lights reflecting off the pond-We surely do! We are located on NY 38 but our traffic is not obnoxious (Log and Milk Trucks, Farm Tractors and Commuters). It is very peaceful here. Your camping can be as private, quiet and leisurely as you wish. The views and big sky are gorgeous in our corner of farm country. Our small pond (tho not suitable for fishing or swimming) provides entertainment w/ turtle sunbathing raft and lots of nature's visitors. Pets always welcome off-leash with your guidance. About the Trials Riding: Sundays are a practice day or Event day. We host 4 Mototrial Events each season (see below) and if spectating appeals, you can plan your trip to coincide. You're in for a treat if you've never seen these nimble motorcycles do their 'thing'... up, over, and around the obstacles. Events are busy and exciting, but no worries (!) trials bikes are not loud. Riders are friendly and considerate. If spectating not your thing- no worries. Non-event/non-practice days are quite laidback. If Trials riders come here for additional practice (or instruction) it's not loud or invasive, nor interferes with any camper training or play on the course. When riders are here (barring Events or Sunday Practice ), it's typically only 2-4 at once. Multiple activities co-exist nicely, as there is plenty of room for all. There are many days no one is on the course at all (!) and you may have it all to yourself or possibly with another camper. Hope to see you in our slice of heaven! A step up from glamping, the "Shack" is a rustic, bohemian 2-story cabin/ art studio on a property that was formerly a train station. The property has 3 cottages on it and is situated across the street from Cayuga Lake in a secret wild garden, but is a 6 minute drive to downtown Ithaca Commons.
This cottage is not for everyone. It is a cheap option in a cute, very bare bones cottage. It is best suited for low maintenance, easy travelers who are looking for an inexpensive place to crash after a long day of exploring.
Guests who stay in the Shack share the bathroom in the main house with me - the bathroom has a separate entrance from the one I use in the main house.
The cabin consists of 2 rooms - the upstairs has a double sized futon and a single futon mattress that can be used for guests, and the downstairs is a lounge/studio area.
Note that the bedroom is accesses via a ladder type staircase. Definitely not everyone's cup of tea, but for the right fit it is the perfect home base to explore Ithaca's many spenders, ideally located across the street from Stewart Park and the trailhead to the Cayuga Waterfront Trail. and a short walk to the Stewart Park/downtown bus line and the East Shore swimming beach.
Note, there is a cat who lives on the property and he sometimes comes to visit this studio. I see guests inviting him in occasionally to visit. If you're allergic, this isn't a good option for you.

It is quiet, private and relaxing. The vibe of the lake is to chill and relax, laud activities not encourage. No motorboats allowed on lake for a more relaxing experienced. Bass fishing is amazing and the water is perfect for swimming.
Next to the campsite you will have a nice fire pit with Adirondack chairs, plenty of firewood for sale at a low cost.

A step up from glamping, the "Shack" is a rustic, bohemian 2-story cabin/ art studio on a property that was formerly a train station. The property has 3 cottages on it and is situated across the street from Cayuga Lake in a secret wild garden, but is a 6 minute drive to downtown Ithaca Commons.
This cottage is not for everyone. It is a cheap option in a cute, very bare bones cottage. It is best suited for low maintenance, easy travelers who are looking for an inexpensive place to crash after a long day of exploring.
Guests who stay in the Shack share the bathroom in the main house with me - the bathroom has a separate entrance from the one I use in the main house.
The cabin consists of 2 rooms - the upstairs has a double sized futon and a single futon mattress that can be used for guests, and the downstairs is a lounge/studio area.
Note that the bedroom is accesses via a ladder type staircase. Definitely not everyone's cup of tea, but for the right fit it is the perfect home base to explore Ithaca's many spenders, ideally located across the street from Stewart Park and the trailhead to the Cayuga Waterfront Trail. and a short walk to the Stewart Park/downtown bus line and the East Shore swimming beach.
Note, there is a cat who lives on the property and he sometimes comes to visit this studio. I see guests inviting him in occasionally to visit. If you're allergic, this isn't a good option for you.

This was my second time staying at the little barn on the hill and my first solo trip there. It was a rainy autumn afternoon when I showed up but perfectly cozy inside the hayloft, where I set up my hammock. Laurel got me acquainted with the many new amenities, as they seem to always be making wonderful upgrades to the property. Mike and Laurel's land is the perfect place for me to go when I don't want the hassle of setting up my tent and want a wall and roof and a little electricity. To a tenter, this is a luxurious paradise and I can't wait to return.

Weekend Trip to The Spotted Sandpiper
Spent 3 nights in Glamp 1 in October of 2025. It was 40s at night and rained 2 of the nights, but we stayed warm with the heater (and an electric blanket we brought)! It was dry inside the tent despite the rain. Area is beautiful. Due to weather, didn't spend any time on the lake, but did make use of the shower areas, which worked well - hot water and shower/bathroom walkable from Glamp 1. Kate answered all questions before and during the stay. Shampoo/conditioner and towels provided. Great affordable glamping experience!!

Great location right on Cayuga Lake for a long weekend getaway! Beautiful and private setting, friendly and thoughtful host! We would absolutely visit again!
Las Casitas are comfortable, clean, and cozy - and literally steps to the water! Though we stayed for a few days in October when it was too chilly to go into the lake, this is an ideal spot to swim or drop in a kayak. Susan was a great host and checked in to make sure we had all that we needed! We brought our camping cooking gear to supplement what the cabin offers. Sitting by the Solo stove campfire at night was relaxing, and the porch is a perfect spot for morning coffee! The bed was so comfortable, and a small electric heater that was provided worked well to keep us warm when the temperature dipped lower overnight. Also, we had never used an incinerating toilet before - no issues, easy to use!
This spot is private (close to Susan’s cabin but separated by trees) and quiet, while also close to everything the area has to offer - specifically state parks with amazing waterfall hiking (Taughannock is a quick 5 minute drive south, while Buttermilk Falls and Treman are 15-20 minutes south), and cideries and wineries (don’t miss the incredible Finger Lakes Cider House, just 10 minutes north). Likewise, it’s just up the road from Trumansburg and about 15 minutes into Ithaca for more amenities.

Our experience at The Christmas Tree Farm Hidden Delight was absolutely wonderful. Mary was a fantastic host. She was friendly and thorough in her communication, even recommending places to enjoy in the area. We arrived later in the day and were thrilled that she had started a fire in the woodstove inside the tent and had also started a campfire for us. So very thoughtful and a fabulous surprise. The site itself is incredibly private with amazing views. The firewood she provided was dry and plentiful, a bonus since it was a bit chilly for much of our visit. It was great to be able to have the dogs off leash too. We enjoyed our time immensely and highly recommend the site. Thank you, Mary!

Weekend Trip to Tryals Park Camp & Obstacle Course
Staying at Mike’s and Laurel’s property was an amazing getaway! Close to great food and cute towns, less than 5 minutes from an amazing state park, and less than a half an hour away from Ithaca and some of the finger lakes! We also had an absolute riding Trial Motorcycles for the first time! I recommend the scavenger hunt to get familiar with the property and the Trial biking course.

What a wonderful experience we had at Camp Earth Connection with the Tiny Cabin! Eshay was great in showing us around, showing us how the tiny cabin worked, and all of the little intricacies. It’s such a peaceful and quiet place to relax and listen to the sounds of nature. We especially enjoyed waking up each morning to all of the crows we could hear calling to one another. Not far from Ithaca either or many State Parks and trails. Wi-Fi was great to have as there was no cell service for us (Verizon). Would definitely stay there again!

My grandson and I ejoyed four days at the storytime cabin. It was clean, attractive, and well equipped. I am 6 feet two inches tall and slept comfortably in the large bed. My grandson slept well in the bunk bed on the other side of the cabin. It was convenient to have the minifridge because I had to keep insulin cold. The desk, chair, lamp, and electric outlets were another nice convenience. Clean bathrooms and showers were perfectly only about 30 yards away. An outdoor kitchen sink and covered picnic table also helped. Peace and quiet were in abundance. Nature amazed and was beyond words. Camp Earth Connection is a wonderful break from the stresses of life! We took several hikes on trails in the adjacent state park and enjoyed the changing colors of the foliage. The trails were well-marked. A mother deer stopped to observe me and then walked off unimpressed. Her two fawns soon followed her. Other guest across an open field were quiet and respectful. Simple clear rules ensured the few guests did not intrude on eachother's enjoyment of nature and the facilities. I highly recommend Camp Earth Connection for an outstanding peaceful experience with nature in peace. Thank you!

Great place to stay! The little cabin we stayed in was perfect and the campsite was simple and quiet. The showers and bathrooms were very clean and well maintained. We had a great time and would definitely come again.

Came again for Obstacle Course (see July review-tent at Hilltop). Great training with my border collie. My gal brought mountain bike this time to play. A good time for all. Highly recommend for training and fun to walk in evenings. First time renting Barn was awesome, just as described-better even. Several steps up from tent but still open-air. Thought about plugging in space heater (provided) but decided we didn't want to close up loft. Really nice at night. We were cozy enough in our sleeping bags just like our tent-but with futon mattress underneath us-and dry. Location near Rt. 38 wasn't issue for road noise for us. Description spot on about traffic 'not obnoxious' and I think muffled some by hillside trees too. Any traffic heard from road--just went along in a gentle rhythm -- like everything else here. Hosts are super accommodating in every way. Old school people who are there when you need 'em and leave you alone when you don't. The only possible drawback was being asked not to eat inside Barn. I'm a crackers-in-bed kinda guy- but I understand it- and appreciate what the Hosts do to keep critters and bugs out of Barn. Likely it ain't easy in this country setting- so no problem. The weather was a little damp outside but we built fire in the fire bowl and enjoyed warm supper just fine. It IS camping after all (!) my girl reminded me. Our dog of course was fine with the outside eating rule. Will be back again (and again) great place great hosts.

2 nights at Tryals Park Camp & Obstacle Course
Mike and Laurel are awesome hosts. Great dark place for star gazing. I was up looking at late looking at the Milky Way. You Cant see that near a city. The cabin/shed was cool. Everything you need even a small fridge, flash light, water, outdoor faucet, sun heated shower and a place to charge phone. The outside looks like a resort. Got to see a green heron. Dont know about the WiFi but had great cell service.
Don’t pass this by if you’re a camper. Way better than putting up a tent.

Weekend Trip to The Spotted Sandpiper
We loved glamping at Spotted Sandpiper! We had all of the necessities and more at our tent site. You can’t beat the view of Lake Cayuga—we loved going down to the dock for sunset every night. It’s also very close to Taughannock State Park and a short drive from Ithaca.
