Pitch your tent in this beautiful Vermont sugarbush overlooking a bird and frog filled wetland. 16 sites lie along a ridge and meander down to an old sugarhouse accompanied by communal campfire zones (firewood included). Short bike ride to historic downtown Poultney with restaurants, a bookshop and rad bike shop (Analog Cycles). There are pristine swimming holes nearby (2.6mi), 3.6mi to Lake Saint Catherine State Park (swimming, fishing, boating, hot showers), 2.5mi to epic Slate Valley Trails mountain biking, Howe Hill trailhead hiking ( .4mi ), 70+ mile gravel road network begins with a left out of the driveway. This was a very old dairy farm owned by the Duntley Family. Old farming equipment dispersed throughout the property. An old foundation from a sugaring house. Beautiful old rock walls. Deer and wildlife galore. Pitch your tent or bring your camper to our 150-acre working farm oasis. Beautiful views of the Adirondack Mountains. Easy drive to great hiking spots. Easy access in Essex for the ferry to Vermont. Lake Placid, high peaks 30 minutes. Or just relax at your campsite with a fire. There is a water spigot to the left of the big brown metal building with easy access with the driveway in front of the building. Located within the Adirondack Park, our camp is a private woodlot with a fantastic view of Jay Mountain! You’ll enjoy peace and quiet, with no road noise or light pollution. The eastern exposure of the site provides plenty of sunshine. Although you’re likely here to explore the Adirondack Mountains, our property invites you to truly relax and enjoy the surroundings. The driveway leads to a level area for car camping or pitching a tent. You’ll also find a stone fire pit with firewood available for purchase (honor system) on site. A unique timber framed outhouse is just a short walk from the campsite. As a rule, we leave the outhouse stocked with toilet paper, hand sanitizer, and trash bags. However, because we won’t be on site to restock supplies between guests, it’s best to come prepared with those items. We think you’ll agree that our location is hard to beat! You’ll see and hear wildlife throughout your stay. Listen for the drumming of a Ruffed Grouse by day, and for barking foxes, chatty coyotes, and hooting owls at night. While fully immersed in a prime Adirondack setting, you’ll still be surprisingly close to nearby attractions and conveniences: 1 mile from the Jay Mtn trailhead 2 miles from the Ice Jam Inn (dinner) 2 miles from the ADK Cafe (breakfast, lunch) 4 miles from Ward Lumber (camp supplies) 4 miles from Jay Covered Bridge/swimming hole 8 miles to Keene (beer, gas, groceries, etc) 10-20 minutes from lots of High Peak hiking access (Giant, The Garden, and others) 16 miles to Lake Placid While we do mow and cleanup up several times per year, our Camp is fairly primitive. That being said, you might encounter tall grass and an occasional fallen tree (free firewood!). The driveway and campsite are navigable in a vehicle with 4WD/AWD. A bit of extra ground clearance will help. If you have concerns about whether or not your ride can handle it, feel free to contact us… we can weigh in. Please treat the land with respect. Set up your tent for a quiet weekend for two, or tents for the whole family. This secluded campsite nestled among the pine trees with beautiful views. Unbelievable fall views for all you leaf peepers!! We will keep the camp open for November, Just know it’s gets cold in Vermont and you need proper camping attire.

Stellar view and lots of privacy from this high field. Great place for a tent or camper van. We enjoyed the firepit, cute outhouse and outdoor shower. And trails to explore in the woods. Hosts were welcoming and the gift of fresh eggs was a bonus!

A beautiful well maintained campsite. Kathy and Tim were very friendly and helpful. The eggs they gave us on arrival were delicious and there was plenty of firewood for us to burn on the cold October nights. Everything was immaculate and clean, especially the out house with some luxury touches. All the extra details show how much they care about their guests camping experience. The property was fun to explore as well as visiting all the animals on the farm. Easy to explore the area from their place, loved the small town general stores and local creameries. Look forward to visiting in warmer weather.

2 nights at ADK Saddle Hill

A great, convenient, and thoughtfully laid out site. I stayed two nights while exploring the trails and really enjoyed the view over the field with their horses during the day and the stars at night were amazing. The outhouse was convenient and clean as well. I definitely plan on returning someday soon!

Had a great time camping in the level field by the pine trees with my puppy! Visited the area to be away from lights for stargazing and it was perfect. There was a nice fire pit, outhouse and sugar shack on site. Gracious host, excellent hospitality - would go back!

We loved camping on Kathy and Tim’s land! This place was beautiful, peaceful, lots of privacy, and felt like heaven! So much open sky, being surrounded by the mountains and sounds of nature. The night sky was absolutely spectacular! Perfect for those who are into astrophotography. We felt so welcomed and the amenities were super thoughtful. 100% will be back, we cannot wait!

Lady Slipper is a big clear patch in the woods next to our wetland. The maple saplings provide ample shade even on the hottest days. The site is 50 feet from parking, flat easy walk.

This was a lovely camping spot with lots of space and beautiful fall views. Picnic table, fire pit with chairs, and your own porta-john. Close and easy to get to from the highway, but with no loud traffic. It's quiet at ADK Saddle Hill and highly recommended!

I am still not over the views at this campground and never will be 😭😍 my husband and I went on our anniversary trip this past weekend and waking up to the mountains and seeing sunset every day was beyond a dream. Sarah’s horses were so sweet and friendly too, and they even came right up to the fence when we were sitting there one day. And on another note, SHE HAS THE 👏🏻 NICEST 👏🏻 OUTHOUSE 👏🏻🤣 it has a light and is clean as a whistle 😂😂😂😂 in addition, Sarah answered our questions speedily and recommended some hiking spots in the Adirondack Mountains. We stayed at camp site #2 for reference and saw the views in the pics below 😍anybody would enjoy their time at Saddle Hill:)

This was a surprise, we had no idea how beautiful this place would be! It was private and the site was very large. We stayed as late as we could because we loved it so much. It was great seeing the horses graze and deer trot by. The host was kind and welcoming. Loved it!

My goodness what a cool place, it was very clearly laid out, with the communal spaces very warm and inviting. They thoughtfully provided fire wood was very clean and dry. There was really delicious driving water and a dishwashing station stocked with eco friendly soap! The owner was readily available for every tiny question I had and even extended his hospitality to his business in town. I loved every minute here. Very quiet and private, also very respectful of the land and their neighbors.

Love this site and Kathy and Tim are wonderful hosts! It is super private, perfect for off leash dogs, super cute bathroom, 2 hanging sun showers perfect mid-afternoon, and the 360 view for star gazing is unbeatable. This was our 2nd visit and we are already wondering when we can go back.
