Spring, Summer and Fall are the best times to come for a visit. NOW is the time to book your experience with us. Enjoy rustic camping on our 115 acres of upstate NY forest. We are just a short drive to Cooperstown, the Baseball Hall of Fame and the summer baseball camps as well as the other museums that it has to offer. Howe Caverns in Cobleskill is also about 30 minutes away as well. The property consists of a mixture of upland hardwoods (mainly Oak, Maple and Cherry) with scattered stands of Red Pine, White Spruce, Hemlock and two open fields/pastures. There are also the occasional conifers scattered about just to keep things interesting. The majority of the property is gently sloping from the South up towards the North. The is also a nice ridge on the NE corner of the property to aid in topographic diversity. One of the fields is a seven acre hay field and the other is a five acre food plot planted in clover, chicory and other grasses. This field has also been recently planted with Apples, Pear, American Plum, Red Osier Dogwood, Persimmon, Red Mulberry, Chinese Chestnut, and Hazelnuts. These are all young at this time but will start to provide diversity and wildlife interest in the coming years. Wildlife abounds here at the homestead. Whitetail Deer and Eastern Wild Turkey are very common to see. We also have a variety of small animals as well such as Red and Grey Squirrels, Raccoons, Porcupine, Opossum, Fisher etc. For the birders, we have Barred and Great Horned Owls and Red Tailed Hawks. It is also not uncommon to see Bald Eagles soaring over the fields looking for their next meal. All of the property is easily accessible via our extensive trail system. There is also another 187 acres that borders our land that also has trails that would allow hiking. We have detailed maps so that getting lost would be the least of your worries. A great spot to come and camp high up on a hill. Pitch a tent and enjoy the solitude of camping in the middle of a hay field, under a huge oak tree. In the middle of farm country. From time to time you may smell a little cow smell or hear/see a tractor drive past.  However, there is nothing greater than the smell of fresh cut hay in the summer breeze. Deer graze in the fields surrounding the house.

We will have foals this year to interact with supervision! We have a turtle sanctuary, & have taken in many homeless critters &; animals 4 legged, some 2 legged. We also have occasional other worldly visitors, completely benevolent, and a lot of wildlife that call our little mountaintop oasis home. Come! See for yourself! We have lots of nearby activities the whole family can enjoy! Ball parks, specialty breweries, 4 star restaurants, lakes Learn more about this land: Enjoy the wildlife & the domestic life! You can have input about what part you want to camp in, but there is a turtle safety zone; and we know where the quick sand is, and would rather you didn't sink out of sight! We have a hill top view or the serenity of a water fall site (as long as there isn't a drought) or the sweet smell of hemlock & pine! Shade & trees. Feel like you're in the Wild West with herds of horses, cows, goats ; wildlife visiting your campsite! We have a canoe w a small pond & bullhead fishing, wagon rides, pony rides, and eventually trails for horse back riding. For generations, the majestic waterfall has been revered for its spectacular beauty. It’s considered a sacred site central to local land rematriation work with the Kanienkeha:ka. Coursing between two outcroppings in a deep ravine, the waterfall crashes down over mossy rock shelves into emerald swimming holes and through dramatic clay beds. It’s one of those extraordinary spots on earth that make you feel like you’re in another world. The sites aren’t suitable for parties or loud groups. It's about a 10 minute hike to the waterfall where you can spend the day swimming, exploring the clay beds and looking for fossils in the 280 million year old gorge. In the evening, make a campfire and fall asleep under the stars listening to the river below. The hike is steep and appropriate footwear is required. All hiking is at your own risk. Although your path to the waterfall is private and the waterfall is on private property, there may be other guests or locals that access the waterfall further down the road. There is no glass or alcohol allowed at the falls. Be aware that you may hear your camping neighbors in the woods. For this reason, we ask that you don’t play amplified music and keep noise down after 10pm to enjoy the sounds of frogs, crickets, owls, and night songs of the countryside At the entrance to the campsites there is a barn community room with a charging station, cold water sink, fridge, coffee maker, cookware, and a port-a-potty. There are 5 gallon solar shower bags that you can use at your campsite. You are responsible for filling them and putting them in the sun to heat the water. This is a leave no trace site. Take all your trash with you when you leave. Bring your own biodegradable soap for dishes and toilet paper for the port-a-potty! Firewood is available onsite for $1 per log. The Schoharie Valley is said to be the most fertile valley east of the Mississippi. It is still wild, unspoiled country and there are many local farms stands with fresh produce and organic meat close by. Within a 5 miles radius is a general store, Scrumpy Ewe Cidery, Panther Creek Arts, Rooted Movement, the Sap Bush Country Store and Café, and Mustang Valley (a wild mustang sanctuary). Nearby hikes include Looking Glass Pond and Vroman's Nose, and others.

Easy entry off a quiet well maintained country road in the town of Conesville, NY. Sitting on 5 acres you will notice the beautiful views of the Catskill Mountains. Feel free to hike the entire property. Hike down the gorge approximately 80ft to the seasonal mountain fed creek. You will find massive boulders, and various artifacts as this property was once a mining operation dating back to the early 1920s. Be mindful of partially fallen trees on the hillside along the south end. It’s a steep hike down so get your hiking poles and good boots. The north end is an easier hike. If you find any cool artifacts they are yours to keep or just leave them and we will add them to the display for the new cabin. Check out the iconic ‘57 Chevy Bel Air halfway down the gorge. With your stay we are offering 20% off your cabin stay when it becomes available. 20 minutes to Windham, Minekill State Park and Bates State Forest(down the road.) The Milk Run is approximately 15 min away back toward the interstate. There is a dump station, gas station and they have great sandwiches for the ride home. So many great things to see, just ask. Set on 14 secluded acres in the heart of the western Catskills, we are just a few miles from the East Branch of the Delaware River where eagles soar and fish jump.  You won't see a single other human structure or light from our property, and the sky is so dark that you can see the stars into the depths of the universe.  Our creek runs year-round and feeds the Pepacton Reservoir down the road.  This is still an authentic farming community where passersby in cars wave and the neighbors are friendly. Set in a valley surrounded by low mountains and forest, you might hear a coyote howl in the distance or an owl hooting.  Learn more about this land:Sit under a blanket of stars next to a roaring fire pit while communing with friends.  Listen to the gentle gurgling of the nearby creek by night and wade in it by day.  Borrow one of our many bicycles for a ride on the secluded country roads, play badminton or Frisbee on our spacious lawns, recline in a hammock or swinging chair for a snooze. Take a long walk into the forest to bird-watch and listen.  Rain in the forecast?  No problem - hang out in the spacious upstairs of our barn where there's ample seating and a dartboard to test your skills.  Plenty of space for tents to be pitched, both by the house and up the hill. Bathroom is in the house.  Town is about 5 miles away and after July 4 the pool is open.  There are some decent restaurants in town.  Kayaking on the East Branch of the Delaware River is one of life's most serene and enjoyable experiences (expect to spend at least 4 hours on the river). Bald eagles are often spotted on the river.  Other trailheads nearby.Love to sing or play a musical instrument?  Bring it along for some jamming by the fire or in the barn.  We've got lots of sheet music and always an extra ukulele or two.Come join us at our slice of heaven! No charge for children 12 and under. Firewood is included. (Note: the satellite image of the property is NOT accurate!)
