This is our 3rd year of hosting, and due to the overwhelming popularity of having an abundance of privacy, we will continue to be only hosting one party at a time. According to a few sources we've consulted, the Mohican people (Eastern Algonquian family of tribes - not to be confused with the Mohawk, a distinctly different tribe) were the indigenous occupants of the land where our farm is now located. Historians note that the name Mohican is from the indigenous word meaning "water that flows in two directions." Most Mohicans were driven into western NY and Canada when the Revolutionary War broke out. Local history indicates that the first white occupants to build here were the Hawley Family, in 1790. Parts of the farmhouse date to this era. Outbuildings were added through the decades and centuries, and the land was used as a dairy farm, among other ventures, by previous owners. We purchased the property in 2021 in hopes of providing more space, nature and outdoor living for our two little ones. We have two fields dedicated to Christmas trees, as well as apple, pear and cherry trees, and we've had successful garlic harvests to share with neighbors, family, friends, and at local farmers' markets. We had a wonderful time. The view was spectacular. The accommodation suited our needs. Having to outdoor compost potty with a scenic view was a plus for outdoors camping. We had heavy rain, but we were prepared. Mike had that wonderful pizza oven that we took full advantage of making so delicious pizza. We plan on returning to repeat our adventure.

Brought my girlfriend here as a little surprise trip for her bday and she absolutely loved it!! I was a little nervous about the weather but it ended up being so cozy inside the Yurt with the snowfall outside. Such a nice and relaxing stay with wonderful hosts that accommodates to all of your needs. Was so relieving to be able to pack nice and light and just hangout. We had everything we needed! Awesome hosts and a an awesome place. Ed made sure we had plenty of wood the entire time and was always available if we needed anything!

Very beautiful and private area. Would definitely recommend.

This natural rock slab, measuring 30-40 feet in length, spans the front of the property and faces northeast. Enjoy the sunrise over the open fields ahead, or find solace in the shady trees behind. The rock, though flat, is not perfectly level and varies in width from 15 to 8 feet. This distinctive location offers a stunning 360-degree view of nature and seclusion, overlooking the meticulously maintained grounds.

The campground is well maintained. The environment is very nice.. grass lawn clean. The trail nice is nice for Hiking. It is located around my route 9. It is convenient for in and out. The owner, Gus , is very nice. When I checking, he came out welcome to us and showed us where the campsite is and how to get there. My campsite has a tub of 5G T-Mobile. Will come next time definitely.

We stayed at the Peaceful Pondside Retreat in our truck camper with our girls, a Golden Retriever and a German Shephard. The site was private and the walking trails right out our backyard was great. We loved cooking in our dutch oven over the campfire. It was a great weekend. Thank you Gus. BTW We had lunch at The Anchor and it was great.

Just as described- a lovely spot to stay. The port-a-potty was pleasant, the sink with a hose made it easy to keep everything clean and everyone hydrated, and the fire pit and picnic table were fun additions to our afternoons and evenings. jThe spot felt special because of the river's morning fog and evening beaver. I'd recommend staying here and I'd stay here again.

2 nights at Transparent Sands, Diamond Point

This is my second time staying on James’s property at site 2 with my dog! We loved it just as much as the first time. James and Debbie are super welcoming and easy to reach if you need anything. Porta potty was exceptionally clean! There’s an outdoor shower as well which I didn’t end up using, and also a sink where you can wash your dishes, etc. Site 2 has the most direct views over the water, so that’s why it’s been our favorite. Hope to be back again next year!

This is a really nice spot. My site was beautiful. Robbin was an excellent host. The Porta potty was clean, well maintained, and not too far from any of the sites, and the outdoor sink made it easy to keep hands and dishes clean. The riverside area is a great place to hang out with plenty of shade. I would absolutely stay again, and recommend it to friends. Thanks for a great weekend!
