Enjoy BEAUTIFUL, fall camping at our mostly private and very spacious lake property with dock and boats. The mild October weather still provides a great opportunity to camp and enjoy the lovely foliage around the lake! Our folks bought this family property in 1953, and it is used and maintained now by our family. We feel blessed to be able to share it with our own children and grandchildren today, and offer it to others to enjoy who may not have such a peaceful and serene spot to relax and unwind.
Stay on 10 beautiful acres of rustic, private land with many good camping spots to choose from in grassy areas with lots of trees.
Enjoy boating/fishing/swimming. We have a gazebo at the lake shore, and an anchored swimming float. Kayaks, canoe, rowboat, and peddle boat are available. Lots of wildlife around the lake to enjoy.
Campfire ring, water spigot (private drilled well) and electric available on the property. Neighbor cottage partially visible, but our property is pretty secluded and private. Picnic tables and chairs provided. Well behaved pets okay, leashes may be required. Mostly level terrain, ample parking area. Very peaceful here. My favorite place to relax, with a guitar and a glass of wine!
Choose your own campsite; spots are reasonably private and secluded. Mowed paths throughout camping section; both sunny and shady spots on both sides of stream. The lake and dock area and the boats, the gazebo, and metal fire ring and picnic tables, are communal.
Parking is in a large gravel area behind cottage. Campsites are located across a small stream, easily accessible (less than a 3 min walk) from the parking area. Path immediately next to parking leads to a nice camping area alongside stream. Truck and car-top tents in the parking area may be allowed upon request. We ask that cars stay in the parking area, but there is a wheelbarrow for use in transporting your gear to the spot you choose.
There is no bathroom.
(Cottage is private.) You must pack it out, or bring your own portable toilet with disposable liner bags. Trash and recycling cans are provided. No shower, but the lake is great for swimming - even in FALL!

Sleep like a log in our one-room charming cabin on a small private lake lot with non-motor boats only.
Little Elk Lake is 43 acres.
Queen bed with linens provided, plus 2 adult cots with pads and sleeping bags.
Rowboat plus 1 youth kayak, two adult kayaks and a canoe are available for your use, and we have life jackets in many sizes.
We are sorry but the pontoon boat cannot be used by guests. The fishing is EXCELLENT and bring your binoculars - BALD EAGLES frequent the lake!
We want you to have so much FUN during your visit, but we are not a party spot.
The lake is rural and quiet, and so we must request low noise levels after 10 pm in order to keep our neighborhood HAPPY!

Although our check-in process is generally to go straight to camp, if we're onsite, we do offer the option of a meet and greet. While we respect the privacy of our Hipcampers, we also love to meet our Guests and are very conversant if you choose to grab our ear! If you forget something and we're on-site, let us know--we might just be able to help!
For Holidays and Special Events, we do require a 2-night minimum stay, there will be a cost of $20 for each additional Hipcamper and we operate under a SUPER STRICT Cancellation policy.
For non-Holiday/Special Event weekdays, we offer a 20% discount.
We limit to what we believe suitable the number of Hipcampers at each of our campsites. If, however, you are interested in adding to the limit, please feel free to contact us beforehand.

This is our original campsite--which began our Oh! Pear camping legacy. The campsite is a short walk downhill from where you park (please refer to the short video provided, when booked, for more information) and it is remote. Rugged, majestic, and serene sites (3) are spatially set alongside the picturesque stream. Each site is outfitted with a Big Horn 47" Wood Burning Ranch Fire Pit (with grill grate), a picnic table and the potential for an outside adventure. Bounded on one side by an escarpment and on the other side a mountain, this campsite is irrevocably secluded--and has been voted the #1 Hipcamp site in PA and in the nation--as evidenced by the nearly perfect positive reviews from those adventurers who have stayed here.....and our many repeat Hipcampers.

Enjoy boating/fishing/swimming. We have a gazebo at the lake shore, and an anchored swimming float. Kayaks, canoe, rowboat, and peddle boat are available. Lots of wildlife around the lake to enjoy.
Campfire ring, water spigot (private drilled well) and electric available on the property. Neighbor cottage partially visible, but our property is pretty secluded and private. Picnic tables and chairs provided. Well behaved pets okay, leashes may be required. Mostly level terrain, ample parking area. Very peaceful here. My favorite place to relax, with a guitar and a glass of wine!
Choose your own campsite; spots are reasonably private and secluded. Mowed paths throughout camping section; both sunny and shady spots on both sides of stream. The lake and dock area and the boats, the gazebo, and metal fire ring and picnic tables, are communal.
Parking is in a large gravel area behind cottage. Campsites are located across a small stream, easily accessible (less than a 3 min walk) from the parking area. Path immediately next to parking leads to a nice camping area alongside stream. Truck and car-top tents in the parking area may be allowed upon request. We ask that cars stay in the parking area, but there is a wheelbarrow for use in transporting your gear to the spot you choose.
There is no bathroom.
(Cottage is private.) You must pack it out, or bring your own portable toilet with disposable liner bags. Trash and recycling cans are provided. No shower, but the lake is great for swimming - even in FALL!

Sleep like a log in our one-room charming cabin on a small private lake lot with non-motor boats only.
Little Elk Lake is 43 acres.
Queen bed with linens provided, plus 2 adult cots with pads and sleeping bags.
Rowboat plus 1 youth kayak, two adult kayaks and a canoe are available for your use, and we have life jackets in many sizes.
We are sorry but the pontoon boat cannot be used by guests. The fishing is EXCELLENT and bring your binoculars - BALD EAGLES frequent the lake!
We want you to have so much FUN during your visit, but we are not a party spot.
The lake is rural and quiet, and so we must request low noise levels after 10 pm in order to keep our neighborhood HAPPY!

For Holidays and Special Events, we do require a 2-night minimum stay, there will be a cost of $20 for each additional Hipcamper and we operate under a SUPER STRICT Cancellation policy.
For non-Holiday/Special Event weekdays, we offer a 20% discount.

The campsite is a short walk downhill from where you park (please refer to the short video provided, when booked, for more information) and it is remote. Great place! Really well-maintained and clean, it's clear that Alicia takes a lot of pride in this property. Very close to the road, but very little traffic so it feels private. As someone who exclusively boondocks, having the 30 amp service was a real luxury! No joke about the lack of Verizon service though - make sure you pay for the Wi-Fi box unless you have T-Mobile or AT&T. Looking forward to coming back.

Camping at CSDG for the second time, and it was just as great as the first. We had the chance to play a round with Cathy, John, and Dave, and we had such a fun time that we played an additional 8 on the older course with the makeshift baskets—definitely awesome!! We really enjoyed our stay. Frank was a great host. Provided awesome food and fishing tips for his pond filled with bass, crappie, catfish, and trout. We had full hook ups with a gorgeous view. We were so lucky with amazing weather and the morning sunrise with nice cup of coffee was so relaxing.

We loved having easy access to the campsite, just a short walk from our truck to unpack and the compost toilet as well. We cooked every meal on the open fire and thought that the farms smoked pork chops were incredible! Overall we were surrounded by nature, had lovely weather and enjoyed the sounds of the coyotes and roosters all around us! We will be back for sure-thank you again for hosting us! Jess and AJ

I was absolutely amazed by the beauty of this place. It’s peaceful, surrounded by nature, with fresh air and a sky full of stars — the perfect escape to recharge and relax. The campsite is clean, well-maintained, and thoughtfully arranged. Sherri is a wonderful and caring host who makes you feel welcome and comfortable from the first moment. Thank you for creating such a warm and special atmosphere. I’ll definitely be coming back!

Catherine was such a friendly host! She even gave us some frisbees to try out disc golfing as we were all total newbies at it! The campsite is absolutely perfect. Relatively flat plot to pitch a tent, a really nice fire pit, easy access to a porta potty. The campsite was also very accessible from the town so if you wanted to use a "real" bathroom that was more than doable! Amazing view from the campsite as well, waking up to the fog settling on the hill was sooo beautiful. Highly recommend to anyone looking to get away!

What a cool spot! Everything we were hoping for - very large tent that allowed my two pups, grill with cooking supplies, propane and firewood provided, amazing landscape views, claw foot tub, privacy. Amazing stay!
