This was built as a personal vacation retreat and we gladly share it now with adventurers and romantics! 40 Private Acres - Fire-pits, comfortable outdoor furniture, and plenty of room to roam will make this unique stay memorable, relaxing, with absolute privacy with stunning views.
The bespoke wooden Tower boasts 360 degree views of the surroundings. It is built on piers and has windows on the perimeter. A large table, outdoor chairs on the 2nd Level platform is an ideal space for gathering or picnicking. The 3rd enclosed level is furnished with a built in brand new queen bed and long custom built-in couch with a bar table and 4 chairs. Small fridge and Fan on site. No Bathroom in Tower.
The Cabin is fully equipped, applianced, and is furnished with a Full Bed in the Loft, 2 Twins in a Trundle Daybed, and a Cot and Blow Up are available. Full Kitchen, Shower, Toilet in the Bathroom. There is electric heat, AC and a ceiling fan. Kitchen is fully loaded and there are plenty of clean linens, blankets, and pillows.
The 40 Acres are Pastured and Open but Wooded all around in every direction. There are no cut trails at the Retreat and as it is thickly wooded, we encourage our guests to come visit us at Slateville Farm where we have over 8 miles of our own trails, swimming holes, and our ever flowing cold spring. Enjoy any of the many national park trails within the Green Mountains or Adirondacks. Lake George, Merck Forest, Schroon Lake, Lake St. Catherine, Bomoseen are all nearby as well as the Battenkill River and the Mettowee for fishing. If you are a winter visitor, plenty of ski resorts are a little over an hour away like Stratton, Bromely, Okemo, or Killington to name a few.
Come by and visit us down the road at Slateville Farm to enjoy our fresh produce/eggs, over 8 miles of private hiking trails, and numerous swimming holes. Firewood is included and stocked at the Pit outside the Cabin.

Sweeping pastoral hillsides mixed with densely wooded private acres make our camps unique, each one offering a different experience. A developed network of our own marked trails for exploring, our private red slate swimming quarry with docks and seating, and catch release fishing at 2 ponds are a few things to enjoy here. Slate Valley Trails and Merck Forest are close by. Places to picnic, enjoy the sunset, and idle are a plenty. Our farm stand is stocked with seasonal produce, jams, eggs, and bagged ice. Spring water is available. Excellent locally burgers, steaks, chicken and more are available.

Private driveway in the woods leads up a hill to three fabulous, secluded, country-setting camping locations with incredible views. Hay fields in front of you with woods behind you, you'll have peace and quiet in total seclusion but are only 5 minutes from downtown historic Greenwich village with diners and shops and a CVS. (The “Stewarts” gas station and market has firewood bundles!)
Camping locations have no amenities but are cleared with mowed grass and have fire-pits. Pitch tent or bring RV, you'll enjoy yourself and the wildlife around you. Site 1 and 2 are adjacent to woods, site 3 is a wide-open-field site (great RV site) with the best panoramic and sunset view. We had an incredible stay! The setup right along the river made for such a peaceful, scenic backdrop, and we loved how private the whole area felt — didn’t see or hear anyone other than a few occasional boaters on the river. The paddle board and kayaks added so much fun too, allowing us to explore the river right from our spot. Things here are simple and relaxed. Our host Rita was exceptionally welcoming and attentive. She checked in briefly every morning, making sure we had everything we needed. Would recommended to any family looking for a quiet and private outdoor getaway. Thank you Rita!

Excellent location within a few yards from the Hudson River, which is calm, clean, and swimmable. The campground is extraordinary well organized, the owners and staff are very welcoming, and the bathrooms are a heaven of warmed and cleanness. I can only highly recommend this place and definitely will add it to my list to revisit next year.

My wife and I (and our dog) had a great time visiting the campground. We stayed at the Owl site, it was clean and private really exactly what you’d want out of a campground. Heather was a great host, super easy to get in touch with if anything is needed. If you’re visiting I would recommend checking out the quarry it’s super chill we loved it.
Worth noting we really didn’t notice any tick activity which given the heavy tick season was pretty great.
Viewing the night sky from the hilltop gazebo was a treat.
If your driving up from NYC and don’t mind spending a little extra time on the road I recommend taking the tocanic to rout 22 for a chill scenic drive.

The views on Heathers land are breath taking. We stayed at the Oak tree site. Secluded Mowed area, picnic table, fire pit w/ grill & firewood included ! So much room for your pups to roam & play in the natural spring.
Heather has a farm stand also with the juiciest of veggies and fruits grown on her land. Plus anything you might’ve forgotten to bring with you she has. Great host, down to earth & simply a wonderful time. Will be returning for certain. Thank you Heather!

We absolutely loved our time at the Ritz. Rita is a fantastic host, and has clearly put a lot of time and care into the site. Waking up and walking just a few yards to take a dip in the river was incredible. The only downside was having to pack up and return to reality.

The first time I stayed here, I had mixed feelings. I had only camped a few times and was very spoiled by things like plumbing, TVs, internet, outlets etc.
Looking back on those “ feelings” I realized that was me getting out of my comfort zone.
I work from home, I’m inside all day everyday locked into several screens.
This camp forces you to get outside, and leave the screens behind.
Sleep in the beautifully decorated comfortable bedroom on a farm and feel like you are living inside the pages of Country Homes magazine. Wake up to the most incredible views, enjoy the delicious coffee provided and make it outside!
Shower in the lush green landscape, with a view of the mountains. Cook a meal on a fire-pit, take a walk or go on a hike. Say hello to the cows.
Lay a blanket in the grass and star gaze. Gift yourself this experience. After you do, you’ll want to return every year.

This was my second time staying at the Oak Tree Site and it was as good as our first stay! Heather is very accommodating and has so much produce and fresh eggs for sale. One of our friends forgot their chairs, so she let us borrow some for the site. If you like star gazing, Oak Tree is definitely the way to go! Plenty of firewood on site and grates for use. I will definitely be back for a third time!
