Welcome to the Unplugged Forest of Mason Dixon Outfarm. Located on the Delmarva Peninsula, the Unplugged Forest offers a rare blend of history, nature, and privacy, for you are the only one enjoying the space.
We sit directly on the Mason–Dixon Line, marked by an original 1764 historical stone dividing Federalsburg, MD and Bridgeville, DE. Though just five miles from either town, the forest feels completely secluded.
Our farm spans 41 acres. Thirty-one acres hold our homestead, while the remaining 10 acres, your camping sanctuary—sitting along side a dirt road, separated by a peaceful non-tidal creek. This setting allows you to unplug while staying close to popular destinations like Easton, St. Michaels, Cambridge, and Ocean City, MD, as well as Milford, Milton, Rehoboth, and Lewes, DE
all within an hour.
We’ve intentionally created an off-grid, calming nature experience. You’ll be surrounded by forest, open farmland and abundant wildlife. Native gardens, fruit & nut trees and herbs were planted near the tent areas in September 2024, offering beauty and a deeper connection to the land.
Enjoy thoughtfully placed gathering spaces throughout the forest, including a whimsical Forest Tea Party area and Uncontained, our cozy repurposed shipping container—perfect for reading, board games, or shelter during a summer pop-up thunderstorm. A nature -made hammock area amongst tall pine trees is perfect for afternoon naps and are provided by us (7) Fire-pit seating, picnic tables, a charcoal grill, and a propane cooktop are also available.
Walk the short Jeremiah Dixon & Charles Mason Trail, a path similar to one they would have taken in the 1700s. Follow it through the forest and across the creek to our homestead, where you can place one foot in Maryland and one in Delaware at the historic Mason–Dixon marker beneath an old wild cherry tree.
Before heading back, stop at the main farm gate to visit our friendly goats—Dixie, Dolly, and Star.
Come rest, wander, and reconnect—for this calming experience is where time slows and nature leads.

Property is located just outside the Lewes historic district and is within walking distance to shops, restaurants, and downtown Lewes. Close to bike trail, Lewes Beach, The Cape May Lewes Ferry, & Cape Henlopen State Park.

Such a cute spot! The converted shipping container (Uncontained) had all the necessary elements to make our stay easier and more comfortable. Don’t forget to pet the goats and feed the turtles!

This was the absolute best experience camping. It was such a serene sight and gave the much needed relaxing atmosphere I was hoping for. The attention to detail and needs that Shayne provides makes this place stand above the others. I'd give it a 10 out of 10 100 times!

I was planning to camp at a State Park but made a last minute change, and I am so glad that I did. I stayed 2 nights, and I camp quite a bit, so I know a great camp site when I see it!
Camp layout & privacy: There are several designated spaces to choose for your tent. They are all in nicely shaded spots, and the ground was pleasantly soft. You have the entire place to yourself, with no visible neighbors, though you will hear occasional (minimal) road noise.
Amenities: Shayne has thought of everything, and then a few more things! I am used to very primitive camping, but it was cool to see that some camping essentials were also provided. This would be a great place for people who are just getting started camping! The Uncontained indoor space was amazing. It smelled of lavendar and provided a very sophisticated indoor space. The fire pit and chairs were perfect, and I made use of the throw blankets when the evening around the fire got chilly. The bathroom was very clean and well maintained, and there was even a handwashing station. I also enjoyed several hours in the hammock.
Local area: Right by the site is a small walking trail, as well as a bridge where you can feed the turtles. I did both :) The nearby towns provide any essentials you may have forgotten, and I enjoyed a river walk in nearby Federalsburg. I also was able to drive 1 hr to visit Assateague Island, which was a bucket list item for me!

I cannot praise Shayne’s Hipcamp enough. I stayed here with my pooch for two days and we had everything we could possibly need.
While staying at this Hipcamp, you’re offered 4 sites to tent that are all within a super quick walk to the Porta-Potty and the refurbished shipping container (Uncontained). Though the directions are very clear and consise, Shayne is still there to meet you to show you where everything is & answer any questions you have. We tent camped at the “mushroom” site which was very well shaded and close to both the bathroom and Uncontained. We had firewood waiting for us along with any camping amenities you could think of. Night 2 got colder than we’d anticipated and Shayne informed us we were more than welcome to utilize the cots in the Uncontained and stay in there which we did. She’s put a ton of work into making this spot the perfect place to getaway from the well maintained property to the whimsical tea party setup near the Uncontained to the endless supply of camping amenities you may have forgotten to pack. If we’re back in the area we know where we’ll be staying. Thank you for everything Shayne!

Absolutely recommend! Shayne is very thoughtful and intentional in making your stay welcoming and comfortable. The property is beautiful and quiet with pretty flowers and wildlife. Monarch butterflies and hummingbirds seemed to enjoy the flowers as much as I did!
I would stay here again and recommend others do as well! :)

Charming, carefully/well thought out set•up; uncontained is adorable!!! Even though I didn’t get around to checking out the trail this time, I definitely would during another stay! Yes, I plan on returning!! Host is super friendly, responsive, and helpful. Unfortunately, I had to cut my time there short when I started not feeling too well (totally unrelated to the camping experience/campsite, fyi), and the host was very gracious around that and helpful with that unexpected issue!!
