Bottled water is included as well and placed in your fridge upon arrival. Potable water also easily accessible. We will do our best to make you feel at home away from home. In a way that is never intrusive, we respect your privacy. Come and unwind with nature all around you. We are very pet friendly! And ask that all dogs are on a leash while outside. Also, pets are not to be left in the cabins unattended at any time. So, with all that said get yourself and your pets here and enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning on your deck looking out to the river. Don't set an alarm, the loons or geese may wake you first!  Listen to the birds and relax!  And if luck is with you, you might spot a bald eagle!   Want to play with goats? Our tent and yurt sites are located on 5 acres of private woods and are 4 acres apart to allow for maximum privacy for our guests! Parking for both sites are shared. The tent is 50 yards up a rustic wooded path through the woods and the yurt is an 800 yard (10 minute) uphill walk from the parking area. Both sites are adjacent to our local network of hiking/biking trails that connect to the summit of Mount Agassiz, which offers stunning views of Franconia Notch. Additionally, within a half hour drive, you have access to some of the best hiking in the North East. We are happy to provide recommendations! The surrounding towns are home to three different breweries, numerous restaurants serving up delicious food and quaint main streets. Through the generous permission of surrounding landowners and the stewardship of the Bethlehem Trails Association, guests can access this trail network to enjoy the views from the summit of Mount Agassiz for top notch single-track mountain biking. We live one town over and are just a phone call away. If you walk the trails, you may encounter a friendly neighbor's dog but all our guests enjoy the privacy and solitude the mountain provides. The SiloSide barn and homestead is better known around town as the "Old Somers Farm" in reference to the day when the barn housed 60 head of cows. The farm was a part of the Cabot Creamery Cooperative, and closed this era in the late 1980s. Prior to being a dairy farm consisting of over 500 acres, the property served as a tavern, inn, tannery, and has always been a traditional, well-loved farmhouse. Our farmhouse was built in 1785, and the barn built around the 1830s and expanded in 1941. The soil here is rich, and the forest full of wildlife. Cute little property! A nice place if you want to be close to hiking areas or just lay low for a bit. Keep in mind there’s no cellphone service and the property is right off a main road (not near a home so you have the place to yourself, but the road was loud). The cabin had a wonderful wood stove, sink, mini fridge, electric stovetop and tons of thoughtful equipment. Though our trip was short we hope to come back to the area again one day.

4 nights at Base Camp (NEW TO HIPCAMP!)

I loved it at BaseCamp, and the Brook Ridge site! This place is the absolute perfect blend of being able to immerse in nature in a very quiet, secluded spot; but to also have the amenities of the lodge with bathrooms, showers, fridge/freezer, gorgeous kitchen to cook in, and other resources/ features close by is just ideal- your choice to stay “off the grid” at your site, or lean on all the conveniences of the lodge more if preferred. The Brook Ridge site (the most secluded site) could be a bit of a strenuous walk for some people. The description says a 5-7 minute walk from its parking area. I’m in decent shape and found it to be more of a 3-5 minute walk, but the walk back uphill from the tent to the parking area is certainly a bit steep and could be challenging for many I’m sure! I highly recommend bringing a foldable garden wagon or something for transporting gear if at Brook Ridge or Hidden Ridge.. despite the walk, the seclusion of those sites is well worth it if that’s your flavor! Jane was incredibly nice and left me some local eggs when she found out I was mostly cooking at my site, and both Jane and Mike have a good sense of leaving people be, but also being communicative and close by if needed. The lodge was incredibly clean and modern, and the overall grounds are well maintained too- All in a stunning surrounding area. I will definitely be back!

We really enjoyed Betsey's campsite. She was very clear in communication leading up to our stay and very welcoming. Everything was very well kept and made our stay very easy and pleasant. During our time in late May, we are birdwatchers, we saw or heard Magnolia, Pine, Yellow Rumped, Chestnut Sided, Nashville, and Blackburnian warblers, and also Veery, Hermit Thrush, and a Winter Wren from our campsite. Very beautiful setting in Vermont!

This was my first time using Hipcamp and I thoroughly enjoyed my 4 night stay on the bus. I wish I brought less of my own food so that I could eat more of Carol's, which was amazing. From the welcome board to the breakfast sandwich, apple juice and coffee, it was all truly delicious. I loved how beautiful and quiet the farm was. I also had access to various gorgeous hikes without having to go super far. There's a whole bunch of sight seeing I did not get to so I will definitely be back!

Weekend Trip to Vermont Rustic Retreat

The view is AMAZING. We stayed 2 nights with our golden retriever while attending a local event. Kathleen was an awesome host and very helpful. The cabin is cozy and comfortable. We really enjoyed playing the board games in the cabin while warming up by the wood stove at night.
