Townsend's son, Nick, foresaw a devastating development of conventional homes that would diminish the soul of this sacred land that held so much magic. So, Nick decided to move back to the homestead to create an example of what a healthy life for the land and its inhabitants looks like. HipCamp was the first step towards sharing and opening up the land to create an Intentional lifestyle. One in which we hope to share our way of being that brings awareness to the natural world we have fallen so far from. Nick and his tribe of like minds are creating a holistic, educational, retreat, workshop, and event center where people can come to learn how to co-exist in a harmonious relationship with nature and each other. Located in Bethlehem at the top of the White Mountains close to endless hiking and biking. Both downtown Bethlehem and Littleton are within a 15 minute drive, supplying many choices for food and shopping.
Rainy and need more options? Take the beautiful 1 hour drive east on 302 to North Conway and visit the big outlet stores. If the weather is better, and you want a more scenic way there with hiking -- take the 25 minute drive down to Lincoln and travel the amazing Kancamangus Scenic Byway (Route 112). This is 35 miles through the White Mountains with no gas stations, so you might want to top off while in Lincoln.
Thirty minutes east is the Mount Washington Cog Railway, and you will pass the historic Mount Washington Hotel on the way. Fifteen minutes south and you can be at Franconia Notch State Park.

Camp Ebb and Flow is located on the western edge of the White Mountains, near the crossing of the Appalachian Trail and a short drive to VT. Three lakes nearby for swimming, kayaking, and fishing. Hiking trails nearby. The camp offers RV sites with water, electricity, and sewer, an RV site with no hookups, and several tent sites. One of the tent sites has water and electricity and another has electricity with nearby water. There is bathhouse with two toilets and two vanities as well as a shower with changing room. Potable water is also available from a spigot at the bathhouse. There are over six acres of mowed fields for activities and walking. There is also a lovely brook running through the property.
This property has a lengthy history going back to colonial times.
It’s been a farm, an apple orchard, and once had a sawmill.
Please check the calendar for available dates.
Check-in is no later than 9pm unless late arrival arrangements have been made prior to booking. Whenever possible, try to arrive before dark because there are no lights at most sites, which can make setup difficult.
A note regarding electric vehicles (EV):
If you have an electric vehicle and would like to tent camp, please select one of our full hookup RV sites. If you have the proper electric adapter for your vehicle, you can charge your vehicle at the 30A RV plug while tenting in the field near the RV site. We do not supply these adapters, and we cannot allow you to charge your vehicle unless you have reserved an RV site with full hookups.

A unique glamping getaway nestled on a mountainside, 4 miles from Evans Notch, in Chatham, NH.
We have three 10x12 glamping tents tucked away in the forest on 6 acres, behind our home.
Private and tranquil- each tent has a queen sized bed with flannel sheets, a light comforter, and a lantern.
The front porch has two Adirondack chairs looking out over the forest. Each campsite has a fire pit, picnic table, and a cabinet filled with basic cook wear, plates and cups, a French press, kettle, and utensils for making meals over a campfire.
Our double-header outhouse is clean and beautiful- a guest favorite!
There is a short 1/8 mile walk through the woods to the camp- we provide garden wagons to tote your gear.
Follow the camp path to our wooded sanctuary, sleep among the trees, marvel at the stars, tell tall tales around the fire, and unwind!

Sweet Song Acres is 100+ acres of secluded forest nestled along the Little Sugar River, at the base of Perry Mountain.
Located in rural Unity, NH and Charlestown, NH, just across the Vermont state line. Southernmost point, located in Charlestown is one of two campsites. The other is Shady Grove, located in Unity.
The two sites, located in bordering towns share the same entrance and are connected by a 1/4 mile trail. Both are very large sites. Campers would drive to both sites down a trail so we highly recommend a vehicle with decent clearance and 4WD or AWD. Southernmost Point is a fully drive-in site. Shady Grove campers park above the site and the campsite is down a short path, just a few hundred feet or so.
The property consists of varied terrain of rock ledges, lush moss, streams, and panoramic views at the summit. There are many options of local outdoor activities in the area or if you prefer, just sit and "listen to the river sing sweet songs to rock your soul".

Our property is bordered by the Smith River and Manfeltree Brook, with campsites tucked into the woods, meadow, field edges, and quieter corners of the land. Whether you prefer open skies, tree cover, a brook nearby, or a simple place to settle in by the fire, there’s a little something here for different camping styles.
Riddle Hill Homestead is centered around simple comforts, creativity, fresh-baked cookies, and slowing down for a bit. Our roadside Cookie Shop offers cookies, cold drinks, novelty ice creams, local products, and farm-fresh eggs from our hens. In October 2025, our Cookie Shop was featured as the first stop on NH Chronicle’s Cookie Crawl.
One of our favorite summer traditions is Friday Night Movie Night. Campers are welcome to bring a chair or blanket, grab a snack from the Cookie Shop, and enjoy a relaxed, family-friendly movie under the stars. Many movie nights also include a small community market, free kids’ activities, and a chance to meet neighbors and visitors from around the area.
Riddle Hill is a working homestead, not a traditional campground, but we do our best to make off-grid camping feel comfortable and welcoming. Campers have access to a community picnic and BBQ area, non-potable water, an off-grid shower area, and a real port-a-potty near the movie and community area. We also provide one 1-gallon bottle of potable drinking water to help guests get started.
Most individual sites include a portable camp toilet in a small pop-up privacy tent, with disposable liner bags for easy use and cleanup. The Meadow sites do not include individual portable toilets, so please check each site listing for its specific setup before booking.
Most sites also include their own fire pit, with the exception of the Meadow sites and Overnight Adventurer. The first bundle of firewood is included with your stay, and additional firewood is available for $5 per bundle.
Our small honor-system camp store carries a handful of camping basics, snacks, and forgotten essentials when available. During normal rainfall years, the brook can be a refreshing place to wade and explore, though water levels vary with the season and weather.
The Craft Cottage at Riddle Hill Homestead is our cozy creative studio where we host workshops, open studio time, blacklight paint parties, family activities, and special events throughout the year. Camping guests receive 15% off Craft Cottage classes and workshops during their stay. If timing lines up, you may even catch Michelle working on glass lampwork beads or another project in progress.
On many weekends, you may also find local artists, handmade goods, demonstrations, workshops, family activities, movie nights, or seasonal community events happening around the property.

Nature provides the soundtrack here. Our hens sometimes announce their freshly laid eggs with a proud little laying song, and Mister the rooster adds the occasional crow. Depending on the season, you may hear peepers, frogs, songbirds, crickets, the brook, and the occasional owl while enjoying dark skies and peaceful country evenings.
The town beach and Northern Rail Trail are a short walk away, and hiking, lakes, mountain views, Ruggles Mine, and Haunting Whisper Vineyard & Spirits are all nearby. Grafton is a quiet little town with plenty to explore if you enjoy small-town wandering, local history, dirt roads, water, woods, and taking the scenic way back.
Please note that Riddle Hill Homestead is a working homestead. Wildlife, farm animals, changing weather, uneven terrain, tall grass, bugs, country sounds, and the realities of rural New Hampshire are all part of the experience.

Our tent and yurt sites are located on 5 acres of private woods and are 4 acres apart to allow for maximum privacy for our guests!
Parking for both sites are shared. The tent is 50 yards up a rustic wooded path through the woods and the yurt is an 800 yard (10 minute) uphill walk from the parking area.
Both sites are adjacent to our local network of hiking/biking trails that connect to the summit of Mount Agassiz, which offers stunning views of Franconia Notch. Additionally, within a half hour drive, you have access to some of the best hiking in the North East. We are happy to provide recommendations! The surrounding towns are home to three different breweries, numerous restaurants serving up delicious food and quaint main streets.
Through the generous permission of surrounding landowners and the stewardship of the Bethlehem Trails Association, guests can access this trail network to enjoy the views from the summit of Mount Agassiz for top notch single-track mountain biking.
We live one town over and are just a phone call away. If you walk the trails, you may encounter a friendly neighbor's dog but all our guests enjoy the privacy and solitude the mountain provides.

Camping here at the hostel is a great option for those who are looking for the economic price point and rugged nature of camping, while still having the amenities of modern living.
"What should I expect my experience to be like?"
Being a hostel, the experience we offer is a community focused one. Sites are setup similar to rooms in the hostel. They are located in fairly close proximity to one another and feature (in addition to private fire pits in the sites) one large community fire ring at the center of the property.
Parking and camping are located at the rear of the Hostel property.
Out back features several campsites, a community fire ring, picnic table, and charcoal grill. Parking is first come, first serve, but there is plenty of street parking available along Washington St (Summertime street parking. In winter, town hall may be used as overflow parking.).
Amenities:
For Sites 1-4, the hostel is yours to access. Use the back porch and side entrances (Access code will be given to you during check-in). Inside you’ll find… Full community kitchen, bathrooms/hot showers, dining area, and lounge area.
Breakfast: Pancake mix provided in the community kitchen.
Dorm style bathroom facilities on the second floor have two toilets and shower stalls each. PLEASE NOTE: Towels can be rented for $5, or bring your own for free.

Camping here was perfection! The outdoor shower was wonderful after a long day of exploring the upper valley! The staff were friendly and helpful. There were other campers, but our platform site felt very private! Clean porta potty, but indoor bathroom was also available! Community fire pit was lovely as well. Can’t wait to stay here again and explore more!

This was such a great find. Jeff and Jill accommodated me last minute, and were such kind and thoughtful hosts. This is a step up from your average campground with an amazing bathhouse, WiFi, walking trails, etc. I will 100% be back. I felt super safe as a solo camper with my dog.

I recently stayed at this wonderful campsite in Canterbury and it perfectly delivered the immersive, peaceful camping experience I was hoping for. Tucked away in a beautiful, quiet spot with a lovely brook running right through the site, it felt truly secluded and natural. At moments it was easy to forget you’re only about 40 minutes from the city — a refreshing escape without the long drive north.The grounds were impeccably clean, both the campsite and surrounding areas. The property is beautifully maintained by a lovely host who clearly cares about the experience. Particularly convenient were the on-site amenities: a porta potty, drinking water, camp shower, and — most appreciated — firewood delivered right to your site. As someone with only a sedan, this was a game-changer. It allowed me to pack everything i needed into my car and still enjoy a proper campfire without needing a truck or van for extra space to bring in firewood. Overall, this is an outstanding campsite that combines convenience, cleanliness, and a genuine back-to-nature feel. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a relaxing, well-equipped camping getaway close to the city. I’ll definitely be back!

This was our 2nd time staying on this property, but our first time at Site 4. The views were AMAZING and the site offers a few different places to pitch tents. Takes a bit longer to get down to the main house to refill water jugs and access the community kitchen, but the trade-off is a very quiet, peaceful site with very few people and vehicles passing through.

We had a fantastic stay at this campsite! It's relatively remote, which makes it the perfect place to disconnect and enjoy nature. The lack of light pollution meant the night sky was absolutely incredible—stargazing here is an experience you won't forget.
The host was friendly, responsive, and made sure everything went smoothly. The campsites are spacious, with plenty of room for larger groups without feeling crowded.
The sauna and cold plunge were the highlight of our stay and an absolute must-try. They added a unique touch that made the whole experience even more relaxing and memorable. We'd definitely come back and highly recommend this campsite to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway with amazing amenities.

Craig's land is a nice setup. It has good privacy from the road and town, but is a quick trip to Littleton, Franconia, and Franconia Notch.
There is ample flat space to set up a tent and there are suitable trees for a hammock setup down by the brook. A comfortable fire ring with good firewood and the composting toilet and shower setup made it quite comfortable.
Craig is a pleasant host who is helpful and allows you to have as much privacy as you would like.
