Camping here is low activity experience as in there is hiking up in the National Forest or just hanging out in your camp site, or bring your camera, notebook and binoculars, or road bike.
When you come to camp here you are on a farm in transition. Girlfarm has been a local food go to for restaurants, farm family members, and regenerative agriculture interests. Today, the farm is looking forward to a new course in agri tourism as we begin planning walking gardens, art installations in the landscape, and interactive classes.

We do not have trash collection services available and we ask all guest to practice a “leave no trace” philosophy.
**Because of extreme fire risk in our area we ask guests to refrain from having campfires for now. As this area is home to beautiful wildlife (and a few other distant homeowners) please visit with an intent to respect the quiet and privacy that makes this area so pleasurable for us all. There is only one spot available at our property to reserve as we leave our trailer up there for most of the summer. The good news is you will have the place all to yourselves unless we happen to be there which is not very often and we will let you know if we overlap. This spot has a 30 amp RV plug and a sewer connection. There is no water or trash service so please bring your own water and practice pack in/pack out practices. This spot is for RV's only with a full restroom as we don't have restroom facilities onsite. This is a very quiet spot but does have a few neighbors within earshot so if you are planning on a party spot or having loud music this is not the spot for you. There is a large smoker/BBQ that is not maintained but is available for your use if you want, we have used it several times and it works great. There is also a firepit to use when fire season permits. We are only 4 miles from Graeagle, which is a great little town to explore and eat some ice cream in the park. There are many great lakes to explore in the immediate area including Lake Davis, Gold Lake, Upper Salmon Lake, and of course upper and lower sardine which are my favorites.

Welcome to Sugarpine Slopes. The Sugarpine has the longest cones in the world and many birds and mammals like the pine nuts and use the tree for habitat. This is a spring through fall place only. There is no winter access. The property is at 5800 feet. Depending on the weather the road may close from Nov 15th to May 15th.
The road on the property is a dirt road. All wheel drive or 4WD vehicles recommended although the lower section could be accessed by most vehicles. Shorter trailers allowed at Site A. Site 3 can also accommodate a small teardrop-style trailer
The property is totally undeveloped at this time. It is a wildlife corridor for deer and bear (keep all food contained), the mountain quail and the blue grouse. Keep your eyes open for the Hermit Warbler, Audubon's Warbler, and our gorgeous visitor from the tropics the Western Tanager. You are likely to hear the Pileated Woodpecker and if you are lucky you will see it and its red crest in an undulating flight through the trees. The property has a lovely west facing slope which climbs gradually at first then more steeply to the top of the property. We have drive-in camping on the lower section. There is one walk-in site at the top of the property.
There is wonderful hiking nearby with several trailheads in the area within approximately 4 miles.

Host lives on property with 4 year old German shepherd. I typically leave for the weekend, however i will probably be there if booking during the week (Ill be gone most of the day though) . There are 4 neighbors but their properties are not visible, feels very private. Please be respectful of the neighbors property, they all have cameras :)
The front of the property where the cabin is located there will be some highway noise being close to highway 20 , especially during a busy weekend.

Our birthday weekend getaway was everything we could have hoped for. My partner and I were looking for a peaceful escape that felt completely secluded from the rest of the world, and this place exceeded every expectation.
We brought our two dogs, and they had the best time exploring and playing in the creek—they absolutely loved every minute of our stay. Dan did an incredible job making the space feel cozy, welcoming, and thoughtfully put together.
To make the trip even more unforgettable, my partner proposed on our very first day there, making this beautiful place one we’ll always cherish. The directions were incredibly easy to follow, and the rock lookout was such a fun bonus with amazing views.
The outhouse was surprisingly clean and comfortable, and bathing in the creek was one of our favorite experiences. The cold water was such a refreshing shock and left us feeling completely rejuvenated afterward.
We truly couldn’t have asked for a better weekend and can’t recommend this place enough. Thank you, Dan, for creating such a special getaway—we’ll always remember it.

Model Farm is great if you have pets and young children. You can camp along the pond pretty much anywhere you'd like — don't expect clearly marked sites. At Julie's suggestion, we set up camp on the south side of a small chapel, which gave us a bit of privacy, and the chapel's east side provided a wind break for cooking. That was a relief, since there was a lake wind advisory and it blew 20 mph sustained for hours each afternoon.
For the kids, the wildlife was a blast. We saw birds, ducks, geese, squirrels, frogs (thousands of them), hawks, a tortoise, and what we were later told was a Great Blue Heron — it was massive. There was a group of three ducks that would sneak into camp whenever the dogs were away or not paying attention and eat their food. Once the dogs noticed, they'd chase the ducks into the water, then come back out. It turned into a running game for both sides, ending in what felt like an uneasy truce by the end of the trip.
If dogs barking and ducks quacking bother you, this might not be the place for you. But if you came to unwind, let the dogs run around, and let the kids catch frogs, this is the place.

I car camped on Kelley's land and could not have asked for a better host. She greeted me when I arrived, showed me the lay of the land, and explained how to use everything. She was always available to help with anything. Her land is quiet and peaceful....making for a really great stay. if you're in the area and looking for a place to camp, book this site, you will love it...plus, the outdoor shower is an added bonus, the hot water mixed with the cool air makes for a crisp and refreshing way to start the day!

We had the best time at Dan's semi-glamping spot! I took my 10 and 12 year old boys. It was so easy to arrive late on Friday and have most everything set up. The site is secluded, right on a creek with small swimming holes. The boys caught a ton of crawdads and had a great time on the SUPs at Lake Davis, which is a short 10min drive away. We'll be back with their mom!

The Sierra Valley Farms owner, Gary Romano, gave us detailed instructions about how to drive into our site. The view of the fast Sierra Valley out our trailer trailer windows was awesome. There’s a short walk to the outhouse and the wash up sink. in a short distance from our site was some great birding opportunities.

We stayed 1 night in Site 2/Antelope and it was perfect. Arrived at dusk, directions were great. Site was pretty flat, enough to sleep in our truck bed. Birds, bunnies, howling coyotes and a fly by from a huge owl! No neighbors that night. Thanks for the fantastic campsite!

Unfortunately we arrived after dark and had to leave early the next morning, so we didn't get much of a chance to enjoy the property. However, we were impressed at how quiet and beautiful it is, and all of the great amenities including covered eating area, large barbecue, and plenty of benches and chairs. The site was level and nicely graveled for our trailer. Definitely recommended!

The campsite was EXACTLY what we needed: a safe place for road-weary travelers to stay the night.
The area is beautiful, Wendy was very communicative, and we were relieved at being able to find such a site.
I highly recommend this site for anyone who needs a safe spot to crash overnight (and doesn't mind stunning sunrise sights).
