Sunset Mountain is an exclusive reservation only 18+ clothing optional/nudist campground located on my working cattle farm. We are not a place for partying or any sexual activity or PDA. We are a place to relax and enjoy nature. (Please do not drive up to our gate and try to get in. Please make a reservation in advance.) Although we cater to adults only we follow TNSF and AANR guidelines for social nude recreation. If you are not familiar with TNSF or AANR you can do a quick internet search and see some basic guidelines for social nude recreation. Sunset Mountain does typically operate as a blind service venue meaning we do business online and we and or our maintenance team may not be seen during your stay. We have a good team in place to help your stay be enjoyable please just understand we don’t operate like some of the nudist clubs you may be used to.
Sunset Mountain is a nice quiet place to relax and work on your tan. We have RV sites, tent camping areas and overlanding sites. As lodging options we have a converted bus and shipping container. The campground has a bathroom facility with indoor shower and seasonal outdoor showers. We have a hot tub and propane grill guests can use year round along with hiking trails in the summer and a swimming pool.
Sunset Mountain is near the Elk River in Noel Missouri and close to Northwest Arkansas where there are mountain biking trails, museums and many other activities. Sunset Mountain is listed on the Monarch Butterfly Waystation registry as well.
We are located 1.2 miles away from the Noel city park that has free Elk River access, 4 miles to Mt. Shira free Elk River access near Shady Beach and 5.2 miles to the free Elk River access in Pineville, MO near Shady Beach Pineville.

Rather you're after solitude or sport, this area has you covered. Kayak, canoe, and shuttle rental, service is available at hufstedlers.com and is a short 11.5 mile drive. Beautiful eleven point river offers blue, red, and white ribbon, spring fed trout/walleye water. If you're looking to float the river, be sure to research the many springs on the way down your trip and the historic mill communities that once flourished there. These are perfect opportunities to take a break, eat a meal, and explore the area. Most also will have public bathrooms. Unless there are multiple reservations, you will be allowed to hookup/stay at whichever site is the easiest for you to get parked at. The gravel sites overlook 92 acres of forest and are approximately 50 feet long and 35 feet wide. Even 40-foot-plus fifth wheels fit comfortably when the tow vehicle is parked beside the rig. Campfires are welcome in the provided fire rings, barring any burn-ban restrictions.
While the RV sites are located closer to the top of the property, beautiful Ozark Mountain hiking trails lead down to a seasonal creek that runs west to east across the acreage. Please note that these trails are not groomed, and some are more difficult than others. Thank you for being mindful of other guests who may be renting the cabin farther down the property while hiking.

Shallow and deep all throughout. Great for wading, swimming, floating, kayaking. Great small mouth fishing! We are approximately one mile by water from the St. Francois River. We have kayaked down the creek to the river for many years.
The farm is very rural. We are 16 miles to the closest gas station, and 25 miles to town. There is no internet. Cell phone service is spotty at best.
Currently a working farm, we have 2 high tunnels on the property behind the house, and our original market garden.
Across the creek we are finishing up our 5 acre agroforestry planting. 3 acres of elderberries and 2 acres of blackberries.
28 acres, 3 on one side, and 25 on the other.
The farm is located approximately 2 hours south of St. Louis.

Myself, my husband, son, and nephew stayed 2 nights at site #3. It was very beautiful, peaceful and felt completely safe. The site was spacious and the swimming hole was cool and crystal clear. There was even a need to change dates and Melissa’s allowed us to do to avoid strong storms moving through. We will definitely stay there again!

This was the perfect getaway for the extended weekend! The spots were wonderfully maintained and spaced generously with beautiful flower beds:) with a deck and a picnic table! (And full hookups) The gated property felt secure and tucked away from the main road.
It also has great signal if your carrier uses T-Mobile towers if you care about that.
Super convenient only 10-15mins from anything but far enough away to have gorgeous scenery and no crowds.
Victor and his family were the perfect hosts and went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed and cared for! They even took time out of their busy day to take us to some of the wonderful hiking trails on the property!
Side note bring bug spray if you plan to go hiking. (It's a no-brainer, but lot of little friends like to tag along otherwise:)
We loved our stay and wished we could have stayed longer! 10 out of 10 would visit again!

Our first family camping trip and we couldn’t have picked a better spot. We tent camped in beautiful site 1. The privacy was very nice, had the cove pretty much to ourselves. The site upon arrival was very clean, stocked fire wood, turf grasspad down for tent comfort. We were worried about flooding being in site 1 from the rain, but the run off water is directed away from your camp area and we had no flooding. It was amazing to walk into the water from our campsite with the amazing view. Directions were good. Gravel road and some paved. Porta potty on site as well. Thank you Debra for the family memories!

The owners were lovely. Gave great guidance and flexibility and called to check in to make sure I got settled in ok. I chose the shaded lot behind the pond and enjoyed the cozy set up. I could still hear some road noise, but the bullfrogs in the pond and the roosters across the way drowned out a lot of it.

Me and my family loved staying at Debra’s site, right on the water with a pretty view. Debra and her husband came and introduced themselves to my family and they were so kind and made sure if we needed anything they would help. Was a very good camping spot as well as experience! I would stay again, I recommend for a nice weekend getaway

They have a bakery, and the gingersnaps are the best! I recommend ordering ahead of arrival and they will deliver the goodies to your site. The gingersnaps were good at the fireside.

Love the ranch! Randy and Melissa made it easy for us to make a date change after I made a mistake during booking. The ranch is easy to get to. I love photography and the farm has very little light pollution which helps with night sky photography. We are happy to hear and saw a few owls perched on branches near us when the darkness fell. Early in the morning, the beautiful horses are out eating early, which made my morning coffee felt so special. Stroll around the farm I was looking for birds and was not disappointed. So many song birds in the morning. All and all, we had such a peaceful time sleeping under the stars hearing the nature and farms animals. If you want to get away from an urban life for a day or two, we are highly recommended Sudden Valley Ranch. Randy and Milissa are good hosts!

This is such a special site. The swimming hole is beautiful and it feels like you are primitive canoe camping on the river. The stars and fireflies were amazing at night. My friend got his truck stuck in the gravel (which he shouldn't have driving on) and we had to have a local towing company pull us out... obvious but just to reiterate don't drive on the gravel! 😁 The road to the site is very primitive and it definitely needs a 4 wheel drive if it has rained at all because it gets very muddy. Other than that it's a beautiful site and I would love to come back when it's not raining!

Weekend Trip to Sunset Mountain
Beautiful place, peaceful, and secluded. The bus was excellent, comfortable, and delightfully whimsical. James was a wonderful host and made us feel very welcome. Will plan for many return trips.

Host and Hostess are both amazing. The grounds are well maintained as are the facilities. I love the fact that it's low key unlike my home nudist resort. It was a refreshing change of pace. Very close to the Elk River for kayaking or float trips.

Lance and family were awesome! We had the whole place to ourselves, both our dogs, and family of 3. Easy trek to the river and a lot of really good places to ruck. I highly recommend anyone to give it a go.
