Sage Mountain is a recreational area located in the heart of Missouri wine country. Located between Hermann and Washington on the south side of the Missouri river. Our 50 acres of virgin forest is home to an abundance of diverse wildlife, 3.6 miles of hiking trails, bolted climbing and bouldering routes established, and a large impressive cave. We are located near the Katy trail for more hiking and biking. Access to the Missouri river for boating and fishing. On site we have an abundance of areas for back country camping, or we allow car camping in our open parking lot.

Back country campsites are available through out the park. Feel free to pitch anywhere but please leave no trace. Also available is our large parking area for car camping and small vans or pop-up style campers. Fires are allowed, but make sure they are dead out before leaving unsupervised. Cave, climbing and 3.6 miles of hiking trails.

This site can accommodate up to a 20' trailer or smaller. Dirt road access into the campsite. It has it's own designated fire pit, stone picnic table and sting boulders around the fire pit. No hook ups, boondocking only. Running your generator is allowed if you have one. Pets on leash are allowed. Our rec area has hiking, climbing, and a beta disc golf course under development currently available for use and included in your stay.

The area was nice and quiet, but the grounds were not well maintained. The hiking trails were overgrown and unused. Attached a photo of a disc golf hole as an example of how things looked in general.

very private and secluded. The property is absolutely incredible. What a gem. I had a great time exploring all the trails and caves and rock walls. My pup enjoyed the place as much as I did. we had the whole rec area to ourselves. I celebrated my 50th birthday out there and I don't think I could have topped it elsewhere. Love your land. I'll be back and I'll let all I know that this is a must see if traveling across Missouri. Thank you very much.

It was very peaceful. We did come in after very heavy rain and then needed to move to a higher space.
