Site includes a picnic table and firepit and many acres with downed trees to salvage. Bundles of firewood can be purchased if needed. This area includes a back pasture and woods with trails throughout for walking/mountain biking. There are many horse trails in the area, if you want to bring your horses that is fine as long as you bring containment for them and clear it with us first. We are approximately 1 mile from a rum river access. There are multiple river trip options from our property. We are also 3 mins from lake george and the Rum River Regional Park for swimming, biking, fishing, boating, and more paddling. There is a Bills gas n grocery as well as a G-will liquors less than a minute from the property. The Ponds golf course is about 4 mins away as well. If you are looking to hit downtown Anoka that is a straight shot and approx 12 mins away. This site is on an active hobby farm that has dogs, cats, horses, chickens, goats, turkeys, and multiple gardens. We have a farm stand by the road where we sell items such as fresh roasted coffee, eggs, BBQ sauce, pickles, maple syrup, hot sauce, and more! After several months of searching, we happened upon a tiny newspaper ad for 81 acres of land described as "Beautiful, secluded, mature hardwoods, tall pines w/creek & beaver pond, many gd bldg sites & great hunting". We toured the property, covered in almost two feet of snow, on a snowmobile in January 1997 and fell in love with it. We have been stewards of this piece of land for 25 years and are still enamored of its beauty and diversity. We are lulled to sleep by the sounds of owls and bullfrogs and the distant yipping of coyotes. Spring through fall we are often awakened by the rattling, honking of sandhill cranes and a wide variety of bird songs. Crooked Creek was a perfect oasis away from the city. We really enjoyed the cozy vibes of the cabin, and the walking paths for us to enjoy. Dan greeted us warmly and offered our children the chance to pick an apple from his tree. His farm is gorgeous with vibrant sunsets and a quiet breeze through the grasses. We were very comfortable in the spacious tent and made a cozy bonfire both nights. We highly recommend staying here!

I loved camping in Dan's yurt campsite! The walk from the car is perfect, just long enough to feel like you are really out there camping! The views walking to the bathroom in the fall were just gorgeous! Speaking of the bathroom don't be scared off by the composting toilet. Dan provides plenty of woodchips/sawdust to cover everything up and there is no odor! The bbq grill and bonfire ring are great to have options. The picnic table seats plenty of people. It rained a bit while we were there and everything in the tent stayed dry thanks to the extra plastic Dan has placed over the top of the yurt. Dan is so kind and generous and feels like going over to a friend's house to camp. Can't wait to return next year!

Wonderful Hosts- When we arrived at our site we had a gift (you have to visit to find out what it was). Beautiful set up. We had long days as it was a working trip and we slept so soundly. Our first time utilizing Hip Camp. It was a flawless. Thank you and hope to stay next year as we are coming back to area for our work. FYI we had 3 working dogs with us and can say it is a dogs' heaven.

Weekend Trip to Hoppensteadt Hills

Very last minute, I realized I needed to go camping: my stay in Site 1, Birch, was just what I was seeking for some nature nurturing. The site was private as promised (in fact I had whole campground to myself) and beautifully tucked in the woods. The yurt tent is well designed (side pockets, table in middle around center pole, also with pockets for stashing gear). Outhouse was a bit of a hike, though even the walk was pleasant, and so clean: the automatic light inside (and solar lights outside) was unexpected nice touch! I enjoyed the barred owl, sand hill cranes at night; great blue heron on one of our hikes on the property. I didn't think about it being duck hunting season, so the early morning and late evening distant gun sounds were scary for my dog, and the 2nd night fox barking was quite startling! But a good reminder we're in the woods! Maryam was helpful with answering questions during booking.

I’m so grateful for my time at Hill Camp. It felt like a dream waking up every morning as the sun rose over meadows full of aster and goldenrod. Sue and Allen were warm and kind and gave me great tips for places to check out, including an Amish bakery nearby! At night, you can see the Milky Way and hear full convos between owls and katydids and even (I think!) coyotes. During hunting season, you might periodically hear gun shots in the distance, but only during the day. In terms of amenities, the port-a-potty is very close, and if you need access to a sink or electricity, they have both at their cute little greenhouse down the way. This was my first time camping at a farm, and I can’t wait to come back and do it all over again 🥹🌾✨

Dan was an excellent host, he provided a nice outhouse that was well kept. The tent was the perfect size. And it was gorgeous on his land. I'd go back in a heartbeat. There are plenty of things to do in the area and stores are relatively close if anything is needed.

We head back to Stone Creek Farm every year. It's so beautiful there, and easy with tents already set up for you. With Franconia, Taylors Falls, and lots to do nearby, it's the perfect weekend getaway for us and our kids.

We had a great time tent camping here! It was private and close to nice parks and stores for anything we needed last minute. It fit all 7 of us and 3 cars comfortably.
