Also available for purchase are organic farm fresh eggs, cold soda, and bottled water, as well as bags of ice in the freezer. At Grateful Acres we aim to make your stay with us, as enjoyable as possible. The two sites sit on 3 beautiful, quiet acres in Northern Michigan. Site #1 is flat, open, and spacious, while site #2 is a bit more enclosed and private tucked into the trees. Both sites come furnished with a picnic table, a fire ring with attached grill for cooking and 2 adirondack chairs. The Star gazing at night is absolutley Amazing!! We are also a County destination as a Petting Farm by appointment; providing personalized and private tours of our farm. It is a 45 x 15' gravel pad behind a row of trees that runs parallel to the drive. If you park facing west your doors will be facing an old growth forest in which lies a beautiful sandy bottom creek that flows in to Lake Leelanau. We provide an off-the-ground fire pit. Wood is available for purchase at the roadside stand. When the chickens are laying we have fresh eggs available as well for sale. Potable water is available at the barn. We do provide a porta potty at the barn, as well as, filtered well water at the barn. Wineries, water, and distilleries abound in every direction. Many are within walking and biking distance. The farm is walking distance to Lake Leelanau and Schneider township park. Walking/hiking trails are available throughout the property and nearby areas. Provemont Pond which lies across M-204 is a lovely natural area with many trails. Shopping or rock hunting in historic Fishtown, aka, Leland is 6 minutes by car, a bit longer by bike. We are just minutes to several Lake Michigan beaches, Suttons Bay and Northport. Drive 25 minutes to Traverse City to the Southeast or 33 minutes Southwest to Sleeping Bear Dune climb and the quaint village of Empire. Lots to enjoy for the foodies as well. Aside from the many wineries and distilleries, you can find Nittollos italian fare and stone fired pizza. Dicks Pour House where all the locals go, and Fiddleheads which features many local farm foods in their pop-up weekend menus. In Leland you can dine at The Cove, or Leland Lodge. For quick bites try The Sandwich Shoppe and Carlsons smoked fish during the late spring/summer/early fall times. Fischers Happy Hour on hour way to Northport has the best broasted chicken around. And the VI Grille in Suttons Bay has enough delicious appetizers you could make a meal.

Remote private tract in northern Michigan with Portage Creek to camp at, right up close. No neighbors, no other campers! 10 miles from Grayling so you can run into town for needed supplies with little time or effort. Bring your kayaks and swimsuit for a quick splash. The creek is mostly shallow with some deeper spots. There are downed trees so the kids can kayak without going too far away but they can go out of line of sight and hearing, so please be watchful. The last ½ mile road in can be very sandy in spots or sometimes flooded so you are encouraged to call or enquire prior to arrival, 4WD recommended for towing an RV. We recommend your first arrival during daylight hours so you can see the entrance of the property. The non-maintained county road, the last ½ mile in is typically not passable during winter and snow seasons except by snowshoe or snowmobile due to the snow level. Never leave children or pets unattended! Be aware of the chance encounter with an endangered massasauga rattler, it may be endangered but it is still poisonous and they have been seen on and around the property before. Ticks are on the rise, and the springtime can be very buggy, and mosquito-y with the surrounding swampy areas. There are bear, coyote, and an assortment of other creatures big and small. This is a wilderness area and so please be aware of wild animals. Never leave your small contained fire unattended at the firepit and watch for sparks, completely douse the fire before you leave as this is a fire-prone area. No fires outside the firepit for safety reasons and fire hazards. If you want firewood here in Grayling, there are a few places that sell it. There is down debris in our woods but as the summer goes by, it may be picked through. You can pull and circle through the open area with your RV, or you can tuck into the RV / camping spot. There is enough room for 5 or 6 cars but campers may crowd that a bit. If you are tent camping, you are welcome to set up elsewhere on the property. There are trails throughout the property and you may see the ‘No Trespassing’ signs all along the perimeter of the 23.7 acres. The toilet is now working again, but we ask that you not overtaxed it ;p . The small cabin is fairly stocked with pots and pans, good for campfire cooking. Picnic table and fire pit with cooking grate on site for your use. There are tons of nearby outdoor recreational opportunities and water bodies very close by, or you can spend your time on this private tract. The military board land and small arms range is just past the road to the west, you may hear small arms practice at times, the sound of freedom.

Wood is available for purchase at the roadside stand. When the chickens are laying we have fresh eggs available as well for sale. Potable water is available at the barn. We do provide a porta potty at the barn, as well as, filtered well water at the barn. Wineries, water, and distilleries abound in every direction. Many are within walking and biking distance. The farm is walking distance to Lake Leelanau and Schneider township park. Walking/hiking trails are available throughout the property and nearby areas. Provemont Pond which lies across M-204 is a lovely natural area with many trails. Shopping or rock hunting in historic Fishtown, aka, Leland is 6 minutes by car, a bit longer by bike. We are just minutes to several Lake Michigan beaches, Suttons Bay and Northport. Drive 25 minutes to Traverse City to the Southeast or 33 minutes Southwest to Sleeping Bear Dune climb and the quaint village of Empire. Lots to enjoy for the foodies as well. Aside from the many wineries and distilleries, you can find Nittollos italian fare and stone fired pizza. Dicks Pour House where all the locals go, and Fiddleheads which features many local farm foods in their pop-up weekend menus. In Leland you can dine at The Cove, or Leland Lodge. For quick bites try The Sandwich Shoppe and Carlsons smoked fish during the late spring/summer/early fall times. Fischers Happy Hour on hour way to Northport has the best broasted chicken around. And the VI Grille in Suttons Bay has enough delicious appetizers you could make a meal.

Be aware of the chance encounter with an endangered massasauga rattler, it may be endangered but it is still poisonous and they have been seen on and around the property before. Ticks are on the rise, and the springtime can be very buggy, and mosquito-y with the surrounding swampy areas. There are bear, coyote, and an assortment of other creatures big and small. This is a wilderness area and so please be aware of wild animals. Never leave your small contained fire unattended at the firepit and watch for sparks, completely douse the fire before you leave as this is a fire-prone area. No fires outside the firepit for safety reasons and fire hazards. If you want firewood here in Grayling, there are a few places that sell it. There is down debris in our woods but as the summer goes by, it may be picked through. You can pull and circle through the open area with your RV, or you can tuck into the RV / camping spot. There is enough room for 5 or 6 cars but campers may crowd that a bit. If you are tent camping, you are welcome to set up elsewhere on the property. Welcome to our camp! If you are a Harvest Host / Boondockers Welcome member you get your first two nights as part of your membership, please book those through the HH site. We have 11 acres, currently with a really ugly old farm home on site that is a rehab in progress, but a beautiful property. We are located a few miles from Torch Lake and walking distance to a public access on Elk lake. Close proximity to Elk Rapids, Alden, Williamsburg, and Traverse City and all those areas have to offer. We have water fill and a dump station on site, and we are working on electrical hook ups. Our property has many open areas to park, some very level, some not. We have woods and a large hill area with lots of birds and wildlife to see. We can accommodate large rigs, small rigs, and all in between. Pets are welcome but must be leashed as we have two of our own dogs. If you have any questions or needs, do not hesitate to ask, we will always try to accommodate. We were previous Harvest Hosts at our prior property, we have spent time as camp hosts, and have travelled the country in our RV and like to think we have a great understanding of what makes a nice camp experience and we will do everything we can to make sure that is the case, cheers! Bring your own or use the US23 roadside park 3 miles north of our site. The roadside park has fresh drinking water from a hand pump & pit toilets, but no showers. Our site is a great rustic experience, but please be aware &prepared for the lack of facilities - private, no close or visible neighbors - pack in/pack out. Please dispose of your human & animal waste properly - animals allowed, but please let us know what animals/how many you’re bringing. There is a water bowl provided. - please keep animals &humans inside the cleared area, do not rummage through the woods for firewood or let pets run in woods - for extra charge/request: bikes, kayaks, paddles, life jackets, firewood, cooler, farm eggs from our chickens, etc, let us know what you need! - fire ring provided, please keep fires inside ring &check with local DNR for fire bans or restrictions - Quiet hours: 11 pm - 8 am - Firewood: please don’t rummage around the woods. We have some available for purchase or there are plenty of roadside firewood racks around the area - No fireworks, firearms or hunting - Animals you may see: turtles, coyote, deer, fox, squirrel, rabbits, raccoons, mice, bear, small rodents, birds; eagle, hawk, owls, robin, chickadee, woodpeckers, etc. Please do not disturb wildlife. - trash bin & recycling bin provided - Easy access to US23. We are right off of US23, no need for 4WD - We are located right on the old railroad track that is a bike/pedestrian/snowmobile path (see pictures). There are no motorized wheeled vehicles allowed. We had a fantastic stay at Site 1 – Elm Valley (hosted by Jayne). From the moment we arrived, Jayne greeted us warmly, offered firewood, and helped guide our 22-ft travel trailer into the perfect spot. The site was level, flat, with water & electric hookups—just what we needed. We were among the last campers of the season and feel grateful we were able to secure such a great location. The location was very convenient—several wineries were just a short drive away—making it easy to explore when time permitted. We were in town for the Iceman Cometh Challenge mountain bike race and enjoyed chatting with Jayne about the event and her family/friends who’ve done it. Upon departure, her husband stopped by to ensure everything was good—it wrapped up the stay perfectly. Jayne is exactly the kind of host you hope for: friendly, attentive but unobtrusive. We’ll absolutely plan to return—maybe next summer to make fuller use of those nearby wineries. Highly recommended.

Jeannie & I loved Phil & Stormy's Place. It was quiet this time of year, and we were lucky to be the only folks at their Camp. They definitely had made it their own, and have great amenities. Firewood & Firepit, 30 amp service, a water hose , picnic table & dry kindling.. 2 Porta Potties on site, and a RV cleanout. Great Wooden games around the site for folks enjoyment. Phil is a world renown Game maker who makes Games and interesting items, which he makes in his shop on site. Sends it all around the world. Besides meeting Phil and Chit chatting, because we are both Hip Camp Hosts, Phil gave us a tour of his Shop and woodworking area. Pretty impressive. He was a great host, and is Passionate about Kubb, a Yard game that was originally played overseas, but because of Phi, brought the game to the US. He actually has his own playing field. We plan on visiting again, as we loved the vibe

I loved the view! Granted it was very windy the day I stayed there so that’s something to consider since your by lake. Very easy to get to the site and overall pretty clean. Had some clutter here and there but not a big deal. My only major critique is one, maybe put stone down on the path to the beach because it had really deep ruts and it was very muddy. I got my car stuck quite a few times. The other is the shower water did not really get warm. Again, not the end of the world but addressing those few things would make the site even better than it already is. Overall I’d give it an 8/10

Perfect spot to explore the area, just 5 minutes to Mackinaw City and the bridge, Todd was very accommodating, allowing 2 RV’s to stay. 45’ truck/trailer(need to back in-no issues) and. 25’ Class C. Site has power (50/30/20) and very nicely fixed up just like your backyard deck. Couldn’t ask for a nicer place to return to after a day of exploring.

Great place to stay with our teardrop camper. We booked on short notice to split up a long drive. Very convenient access off I-75 right by the bridge. Easy in and out with a teardrop trailer. Had a porta potty, electric, a light, fire pit, chairs, trashcan. Private enough, although it is close to the road and a house is visible close by on one side. If it's available the next time we pass through on our way to the UP we will definitely stay again!

Hidden Meadow is an awesome property and Phil is a great host. He was incredibly responsive to a couple questions I had prior to booking which enabled me to book Rustic Campsite #4 with confidence it would meet my needs. I’m super stoked I stayed here! Rustic Campsite #4 is perfect if you’re looking for peace and quiet! I felt as though there were no other campers and yet the property was full. There was a table with umbrella, fire pit amd wood and a trash can all onsite. There’s also a really nice “outhouse” with a foot pump for water within 50 feet. The Stargazer trail is awesome too! I can say with 100% certainty my next time in the area I will stay again.

This is perfect for folks who want to camp but do not wish to be crammed in next to other campers. We offer over 400 acres and 4 sites at a time for campers but we have many more areas that you can camp at to choose from. You will have a lot of room to breathe the fresh forest air. You’ll have excellent opportunities for wildlife photos. This is a wilderness area and you will have cell phone reception mainly on the higher ground areas of the property. We have campsite maps soon online. Please contact us for hunting opportunities for deer season. If you need a break from the quiet and relaxation, you can drive over to Kalkaska (12 miles), Mancelona (8 miles), or Traverse City (30 miles) for dinner and shopping. We have been working on many large and small projects all over our property. We have recently majorly upgraded our road and trail system. Please drive on it gently, respectful of the work we have put into it and of other campers with pets and children. Another project is the rustic boardwalk down to Manistee Lake. This walkway is accessible via Cunningham Rd (the far western border of the property). Bring along some boots that can get a bit dirty, if it rains then it will be muddy, and bring your bug spray. The boardwalk building materials are constructed entirely of onsite native cedar hand-sawn timber – built by your host, Bryce. This leads you to the Manistee Lake frontage. Coming soon: a dock for boating and enjoying the water. We now have 4 outhouses dispersed throughout the property for your convenience. Please understand we are not able to maintain these outhouses and campers must be respectful and clean up after themselves. Bring toilet paper in case there is none in the outhouses. Please respect our Leave-No-Trace policy and remove all trash from your campsite and area. Your leashed pets are allowed but you must be respectful of other campers with pets as well. Do not let your pets run loose and to other campsites. All children and pets must be attended at all times for safety reasons. Ticks are on the rise, and the springtime can be very buggy, and mosquito-y with the surrounding swampy areas. There are bear, coyote, fox, and an assortment of other creatures big and small. This is a wilderness area and so please be aware of wild animals. Never leave children or pets unattended! The northernmost opening has honey bees maintained by an electric fence. Please keep pets and children away from this area. You are welcome to look at it but do not touch the fence or bother the bees, they are busy making honey for all of Michigan. There is direct access to 100s of miles of snowmobiling trails spanning from Leetsville to Kalkaska (MCCCT Access). You’ll have access out the eastern gate but please remember to shut the gate going in and out. Otherwise outside ATV traffic will come in off of state land. All motorized vehicles must stay on the trail system, do not spin tires or tear up the bare ground. The trail system has recently been updated at owner's expense and maintained for your convenience but it is easily rutted. Please be respectful of our trails. You must drive under 10 mph on the property due to safety and insurance regulations. There are areas along the trails that have deep holes close by the trails. Watch your step or driving around these areas. Safe, sober and responsible behavior and driving is imperative on the trails. No alcohol or drug use. Do not put nails or metal in the trees. Do not use firearms without express written permission from the owners and when other campers are around. Hunting season is set for hunting rental on this site. No additional campsites will be offered during this time. Please contact us (owners) for available hunting dates and rates. This property can accommodate up to 8 hunters. After 1 1/2 years of completely remodeling our cabin, we now can offer you a lovely stay in a snug, warm 2 bedroom 700 sq foot cabin, comfortably sleeps 6, 1 queen bed in one bedroom, 1 queen and 1 full sized bed in the other bedroom. The cabin is a 2-night minimum stay. It comes with all the amenities, wifi, hot shower, linens, bedding, towels wood stove, electric heat, a completely stocked full kitchen and much, much more. You must back into the driveway from the road (there are no pull through sites). Our driveway is 15' - 20' wide for ease of backing up. 20/30/50 amp electrical, sewer, water, internet WIFI (100mbs), fire pit (please do not move fire pits), and a picnic table are included for each site. Trash bin is at the road. The sites are level, consist of crushed concrete gravel covered by 6a stone, and are 12' wide. One family per site unless you are booking as a group.   Check-In is 1:00 p.m. and Check-Out is 11:00 a.m. At this time, we DO NOT accommodate stand alone tent camping as we have no restroom facilities. Pets are welcome but we ask that you clean up after them, be mindful of other guests, and be respectful of our neighbor's property.
