Over 7 acres of gentle sloping meadow with views of Lake Michigan, beside a growing family farm and homestead. Our gently sloped meadow and shady pine grove are perfect for campers seeking more private, quiet camping, and the Upper Room invites you indoors, while enjoying the outdoors. In the pine grove, a freestanding deck overlooks Lake Michigan, with views of Beaver Island and Great Lakes freighters. On clear nights you can glimpse beams from a handful of lighthouses. The pine trees offer shade and protection from weather without blocking the breeze (and the pine duff creates a spectacularly soft ground for sleeping on). Or set up your tent on the hillside--open your flap to Lake Michigan's famous sunsets, or face south to see a blanket of treetops. Near the barn, your RV has a flat spot to park at the base of the "Southern Slope" meadow full of wildflowers and monarch butterflies. For guests wanting more creature comforts, the Upper Room Glamp Apartment has all the amenities--television, queen bed, dry kitchenette, and access to the main house bathroom and shower. All options have access to fire rings and views of countless stars on a clear night. You'll be staying minutes from multiple beaches for swimming, boating, fishing, and rock-hunting. Our sites make a great HQ for day trips to Mackinac Island, Beaver Island, Mackinaw City, Petoskey, and Charlevoix, or a way-point on Fall Color Tours or drives up the Tunnel of Trees on M-119. The famous Legs Inn and Petoskey Brewing Company's 2nd location are only a mile away, Moose Jaw Junction is close, and one can walk to the Crow's Nest Restaurant. From here, it's only a short drive to downtown Harbor Springs for additional fine dining and shopping.

Hosting May 22 - mid/Oct My husband Dan and I purchased this property 6 years ago and have totally restored the land, home and barn from its prior condition. Consequently, if you view the various on line satellite images be advised they are out of date and do not reflect the love we have put into our sanctuary. We are retired and live here with our two standard poodles Mila and Indiana. The property is 5 acres, mostly meadow with a maple grove as well as a wooded ravine. We have planted various fruit trees, cherries, apples, peach as well as pears. We also have a small grape and berry patch which is next to our vintage trailer. There is also an old abandoned trail through the forest that makes for a nice walk. Our location is convenient to Traverse City, Alden, Belaire, Kalkaska as well as the equestrian center and the casino in Williamsburg. There are various places to eat/drink within close proximity as well as places to purchase fuel, groceries and liquor. Old Mission and Leelanau peninsulas are a convenient drive where you can visit the many vineyards, orchards, shops and enjoy the beautiful vistas of the lake and bays, or shop some of the unique stores and galleries. There are many off road vehicle and bike trails that are not far away as well. As well as boating on beautiful Torch Lake and the chain of lakes. A day trip to Sleeping Bear dunes is well worth the drive. We would be happy to make suggestions on activities, dining, entertainment during your stay. We currently have three sites which are on seperate areas of the property. Lake View site is a Vintage 1985 Avion travel trailer which as been completely renovated with all new systems. It is located with a western view of Lake Skegemog and next to our grape and berry patch in our back yard. Maple Grove site is a new Coachmen Catalina Destination series RV. It is located on the front side of the property next to the maple tree grove. Lavender Lane is located in front of our barn with a view of our small orchard and the forest, close to the walking trail. All our sites are fully outfitted with quality linens, towels, dishes and cooking equipment. All of the units have Air Conditioned and heat. New this year is our chicken coop and run. We (Bill) has always wanted chickens.

Enjoy the tranquility of the countryside while taking in the beauty of Northern Michigan. Our primitive glamping site offers many comforts, including a queen-size bed, solar-powered chargers, and a portable shower. Perhaps the greatest amenities, however, are the opportunity to experience life on a regenerative working farm and the serenity of nature. The tent is privately situated while still offering views of our grazing cows, pigs, chickens, and turkeys. THE TENT Includes: • Queen-size bed with sheets, comforter, pillows, and blankets • Nightstands • Papasan chair • Battery-operated lights and lanterns • Coat rack • Towels, shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel • Dishware (plates, bowls, cups, and mugs) and cutlery • Cooking utensils, including wooden spoons, spatulas, measuring cups and spoons, and a butcher block with knives • Propane cooking stove (fuel included) • French press-style coffee maker • Portable solar charger for cell phones • Games and books • First-aid kit • Hand sanitizer OUTDOOR AREA Includes: • Covered porch area • Fire pit with firewood provided • Outdoor chairs and a small table • Large prep table with camp stove, water dispenser, cookware, and cleaning supplies • Portable toilet, professionally serviced and cleaned after each stay • Gravity-fed shower with water heated by a small propane heater • Barbecue grill with charcoal and cooking utensils provided THE FARM You will be staying on a working farm. Although the site is located at the back of the property, you will be able to see cattle, chickens, turkeys, and pigs during your stay. You may wake up to a rooster crowing or the sound of cows grazing nearby (don't worry—they are fenced in!). Feel free to take a walk and observe the animals in their pastures. Please be aware that this is a working farm and respect the animals and the electrified fences that keep them safe. Black Sheep Landings

14mi from Vanderbilt · 1 site
Every family has a black sheep: the one who does things their own way and somehow ends up being everyone’s favorite anyway. That’s where the name comes from, and it fits the land just as well as it fits the stay. Black Sheep Landings is 10 acres of real, working Northern Michigan land, located roughly halfway between Boyne City and Boyne Mountain. Trees line two sides of the site, giving you a sense of separation without pretending you’re in the middle of nowhere. This is a rural road, and you’ll hear the occasional truck pass, especially in the early morning. We’d rather tell you that upfront than have you discover it on your own. This isn’t a polished resort with manicured pads and cookie-cutter sites. It’s a working property. There’s a barn nearby with some honest wear on its siding, and a couple of areas around the property are still a work in progress. None of that affects your stay. What you get is a site that’s entirely yours, with a real fire pit at the center, a gazebo covering a screened-in picnic table so dinner doesn’t turn into a bug buffet, and plenty of open space to park whatever you bring—trucks, trailers, ATVs, bikes, boats, and more. We live close by, about 100 yards up the driveway, which means help is never far if you need it. It also means this isn’t a deep-woods, off-grid kind of stay. It’s a working landscape with room to breathe, not total isolation. The driveway itself is steep, so take it slow on your way in and out, especially when there’s snow on the ground. Bring the dog. Bring the whole crew, honestly—there’s room for both. This is the kind of place you come to for the fire pit at night, the acreage during the day, and the freedom to enjoy the property at your own pace.
