We have planted various fruit trees, cherries, apples, peach as well as pears. We also have a small grape and berry patch which is next to our vintage trailer. There is also an old abandoned trail through the forest that makes for a nice walk. Our location is convenient to Traverse City, Alden, Belaire, Kalkaska as well as the equestrian center and the casino in Williamsburg. There are various places to eat/drink within close proximity as well as places to purchase fuel, groceries and liquor. Old Mission and Leelanau peninsulas are a convenient drive where you can visit the many vineyards, orchards and enjoy the beautiful vistas of the lake and bays, or shop some of the unique stores and galleries. There are many off road vehicle and bike trails that are not far away as well. As well as boating on beautiful Torch Lake and the chain of lakes. A day trip to Sleeping Bear dunes is well worth the drive. We would be happy to make suggestions on activities, dining, entertainment during your stay. We currently have three sites which are on seperate areas of the property. Lake View site is a Vintage 1985 Avion travel trailer which as been completely renovated with all new systems. It is located with a western view of Lake Skegemog and next to our grape and berry patch in our back yard. Maple Grove site is a new Coachmen Catalina Destination series RV. It is located on the front side of the property next to the maple tree grove. Lavender Lane is located in front of our barn with a view of our small orchard and the forest, close to the walking trail. All our sites are fully outfitted with quality linens, towels, dishes and cooking equipment. All of the units have Air Conditioned and heat.

6 nights at The Vine Wilderness Glamping

Overall, it was pretty nice and quiet but a couple things I would have liked to have known where there wasn’t any electricity, but they give you a pretty big battery pack for charging your phone. I also got 1-2 bars of cell service, it was slow but worked for texting and calling. A perk is definitely that they give you all the cooking tools but pots and pans so I had no problem making food. I didn’t see any critters, but there were lots of slugs, mosquitoes and spiders. It’s about a five minute walk to the farthest campsite, windy but not very hilly and a mulch path. The showers are heated, but it’s outdoors so you have to prepare for mosquitoes while you’re showering. If it isn’t pouring rain, the humidity inside the yurt isn’t that bad obviously. I’m 22 so the air mattress was actually pretty comfortable for me. The ground within the yurt was a little bit uneven but not overly noticeable. overall it was very nice, clean, and very quiet. The hosts were very friendly, and accommodating. I was solo traveling and I felt very safe there the host were very nice and gave off only good vibes. There were lots of large thunderstorms while I was there and the hosts always checked in, asked how I was doing and if I needed anything and the Yurt stayed very sturdy throughout the multiple round of high wind thunderstorms that came through.

Loved the stay at Connie’s place! Access to the creek was amazing and we had everything we needed for a perfect camp:) The place was private but be aware that the property is located off a small highway where there are cars going by (not heavy traffic, but some at certain times of the day).

1 night at Schoolie Bus Camp & Camping Area

John is a great and well communicative host. We stayed in the A-Frame and spent the entire night with the side open; making it an even better experience when a nearby barred owl decided to make its presence known. We were underprepared for the mosquito burden throughout the region - John provided both DEET and Citronella candles by default; but beware if you wander off property. Looking forward to our next walkabout - this time bringing the kids.

Weekend Trip to Llama Meadows Eco Farm BaseCamp

What a wonderful stay in the purple palace tiny treehouse! I don’t typically write reviews, but I can’t keep so many nice things to myself. Kinda like when you find a beautiful beach, you want everyone to enjoy it but you also don’t want it overcrowded, lol. Host Betty is a true delight. Making sure to walk you through all of the amenities you may need, you feel ready for a comfortable stay. The photos given do show you what to expect, but what they don’t show is the incredibly peaceful vibe for you to breathe in. I absolutely loved walking through the gardens and rolling meadow. My favorite part, besides chatting with Betty and their awesome pup, was waking up with birds singing, sun glowing, and soft breeze coming through the treehouse windows. Oh, and being all set up to have a cup of tea before your feet even touch the floor in the morning! So yes, do book your stay! But don’t tell anyone how great it was. 😉

Weekend Trip to Full Bucket Farmstead

My hiking partner and I planned on camping here but the weather got colder than we were willing to camp in so we worked with Jeremy to change our reservation to the Glamping Apartment. All went well with the change in accommodations, including the refund of one and the charge for the other. This location worked out very well for us as we were hiking the last 46 miles of the Lower Peninsula to Mackinaw City on the North Country Trail (with a road crossing less than 2 miles away from this site.) Jeremy was great to work with, he was very helpful.

Beautiful secluded woods. Cabin was very clean with a fresh cut wood smell. Very nice to have the carport to cook under since it rained pretty much the entire trip. Pull up couch was perfect to lounge on with a book in the evenings. Memory foam topper on the air mattress made it pretty comfortable. Kerosene heater took the chill out of the air on the 40 degree nights. Plenty of space for the two of us and our Aussie. Lots of little unexpected extras. Dog toys, bowls, and bed, binoculars, candles, lantern, and strategic solar lights outside.

Weekend Trip to HillCrest

Hillcrest (Lake View) has a beautiful view. Chose this for a fall getaway. Great location central to Traverse City (asylum tour) and Boyne Mountain (Skybridge). Hosts are friendly and Avion RV was a cool experience, clean and well-stocked with everything you need. Hope to visit again in the summer to experience Torch Lake, which is very close to this.
