We have 50/30/20 electric, softened iron and odor free perfect water, septic, WiFi, and can accommodate a very large rig, lots of parking available. All graveled. At the end of a dead end paved road, so lots of privacy. Only 3 mile drive to Lake Superior. A mile the way the crow flys to Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore. There is only 1 site, so you have the area to yourself. Pellet grill, tables, and chairs are available for your use. It would make a great base camp for spending time in the central upper peninsula. We purchased the property 2 years ago, and put a had it cleared we just got the building done and are adding in grass and other things, so I may be around putting in some work on the property, this wouldn't be anywhere near where you would be parked. Leashed dog friendly. Provide a dumpster for your trash.

Hello, and welcome to Superior Times Resort and Campground!
We would like to take a moment and introduce ourselves. Our names are Tom and Heather Holmstrom. We were married in 2016 and have four children as part of our blended family. We are both originally from the Upper Peninsula. Superior Times Resort and Campground was the result of us wanting to do something “outside of the box” that would allow us to raise our family and show them there is more out there than the traditional path. We also wanted showcase our love and respect for the beauty of the Upper Peninsula; the area that many refer to as “God’s Country.”
In December of 2016, we mistakenly pulled into the driveway of this property. At that time, it was known as Coleman’s Paradise Resort. There was a For Sale sign marking the property. We both knew at that point our fate was sealed to become this property’s new owners. We learned that this property had been a family vacation destination for nearly 100 years. We could only imagine the special memories that had been made here over the years! We wanted to become a part of that deep history.
Through the many years of the resort’s history, the owners had changed and the cabins were showing true signs of their age. We knew there was A LOT of work that simply had to be done. On a wing and prayer, we somehow made this great resort ours. In April of 2017, we opened what we named Superior Times Resort and Campground. We pulled up or sleeves and went to work!
Thank you for choosing us and allowing us to be part of the memories that you create here. We know that you work hard for your own money, as we do. These sites are on a seasonal road so travel in and out can be impeded at times due to weather or external forces, such as tree falls, wash outs, etc. This is a self sufficient homestead in the making. Our garden has progressed greatly, and our fruit tree orchards are starting to produce. The free range chickens are fun and quirky, offering farm fresh eggs. We have options of open sites and a couple more private wooded sites. There are at least two areas for small campers and several choices for tents and/or hammocks..
There is a communal/central fire pit, picnic table area as well as a larger fire pit with picnic table closer to house. We have nice fire wood available on site -see "extras" or for purchase when you get here!
There are yard games, extra chairs and a small table in the red shed. This can also be used as a storm shelter if needed!
There is a "port-a-john" on site- extra TP is kept in red shed hanging on nail in a bag. Please let us know if this needs attention.

We have added a curtain to block the toilet view from the bed. While it is unusual, we think it is worth keeping to have an extra lavatory for larger groups. The home has a beautiful view (especially for evening sunsets!) overlooking Furnace Lake and is very quiet and peaceful. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do :) Up to 2 dogs are allowed with preapproval, but there is a $75 non-refundable pet fee that will need to be added.

There’s a brand new 65” Roku TV in the living room and we have fiber optic wireless internet. We also added a tankless hot water heater so everybody gets a hot shower! We supply a crock pot, blender, drip coffee maker, and all the necessities to cook a meal at home. There’s a nice, large foyer with a bench and a shelf with hooks with plenty of room to store all your coats, bibs, helmets, boots, etc.

We would like to take a moment and introduce ourselves. Our names are Tom and Heather Holmstrom. We were married in 2016 and have four children as part of our blended family. We are both originally from the Upper Peninsula. Superior Times Resort and Campground was the result of us wanting to do something “outside of the box” that would allow us to raise our family and show them there is more out there than the traditional path. We also wanted showcase our love and respect for the beauty of the Upper Peninsula; the area that many refer to as “God’s Country.”
In December of 2016, we mistakenly pulled into the driveway of this property. At that time, it was known as Coleman’s Paradise Resort. There was a For Sale sign marking the property. We both knew at that point our fate was sealed to become this property’s new owners. We learned that this property had been a family vacation destination for nearly 100 years. We could only imagine the special memories that had been made here over the years! We wanted to become a part of that deep history.
Through the many years of the resort’s history, the owners had changed and the cabins were showing true signs of their age. We knew there was A LOT of work that simply had to be done. On a wing and prayer, we somehow made this great resort ours. In April of 2017, we opened what we named Superior Times Resort and Campground. We pulled up or sleeves and went to work!
Thank you for choosing us and allowing us to be part of the memories that you create here. We know that you work hard for your own money, as we do. We have options of open sites and a couple more private wooded sites. There are at least two areas for small campers and several choices for tents and/or hammocks..
There is a communal/central fire pit, picnic table area as well as a larger fire pit with picnic table closer to house. We have nice fire wood available on site -see "extras" or for purchase when you get here!
There are yard games, extra chairs and a small table in the red shed. This can also be used as a storm shelter if needed!
There is a "port-a-john" on site- extra TP is kept in red shed hanging on nail in a bag. Please let us know if this needs attention.

We have added a curtain to block the toilet view from the bed. While it is unusual, we think it is worth keeping to have an extra lavatory for larger groups. The home has a beautiful view (especially for evening sunsets!) overlooking Furnace Lake and is very quiet and peaceful. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do :) Up to 2 dogs are allowed with preapproval, but there is a $75 non-refundable pet fee that will need to be added.

We supply a crock pot, blender, drip coffee maker, and all the necessities to cook a meal at home. There’s a nice, large foyer with a bench and a shelf with hooks with plenty of room to store all your coats, bibs, helmets, boots, etc.

This is the cutest coziest cabin ever! Wonderfully renovated and such welcoming host's. Exploring the pictured rocks area during the winter was amazing, such beautiful ice formations. Hot tub was so nice to get into after the cold hikes. We had some road closed in town and was unable to get to the cabin on the first night but we were reimbursed and the host was super helpful with keeping us informed. 10/10 would stay here again!

My brother and I enjoyed our stay on Neal’s land. There were other campers on the property but we never interacted with them. Because we got in late, we never met Neal. The land was right next to a road but it was not a busy road. It was a cheap and nicely located site! I would recommend this site to anyone just looking for a safe night’s sleep (with no amenities)

1 night at Christmas Campsites 1 & 2
RV was clean and very well stocked on the inside. Interior looked brand new, and the campsite overlooked a pretty meadow surrounded by trees. Cute S'Mores bucket inside with everything you'd need. Convenient location, was able to do an evening hike to Mosquito Beach from this location. Why stay in a campground and spend thousands of dollars on your own RV when you can just stay here! Highly recommend Captain Ron's for fresh, hand-processed whitefish. Thanks Danielle!

My second trip to High Swamp was even better than the first, solidifying its spot as my all-time favorite Hipcamp destination. While I’ve visited many excellent campsites over the years, Chris’s property is truly exceptional because you don't just feel like a visitor—you feel like an extended member of the family.
Beyond the incredible hospitality, High Swamp's location in Seney is ideal for exploring the Upper Peninsula. I originally chose it for its proximity to Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, but on this trip, I was thrilled to easily tackle the hike to Tahquamenon Falls, which is only about an hour away.
The sites themselves are all are spacious and private. Chris has also clearly invested in guest comfort, even installing a new outdoor shower and private bathroom.
Thanks again for the hospitality, Chris! We'll see you next time, with the family!

Quite on a dead end, on a city like street. He has everything set-up perfectly and very easy to back straight in. If you're looking to stay out of the big campgrounds and getting a peaceful night's sleep this is the place.

Clean, quiet, private. Everything worked. We were there in the off season so no one else was camping and the campground next door was also quiet. From here did a pictured rocks boat tour, hiked sugarloaf mountain, little presque isle. If it was warmer, the au train river looked like a fun kayak.

Wow, what an awesome property! Joy and Brian are great hosts and the thought and care they’ve taken in Northern Oasis is evident.
My two nights exceeded my expectations! I was the only one there and it’s so incredibly peaceful I slept better than I may ever have in my truck camper.
The porta potty was the cleanest and freshest I’ve seen anywhere too!
Pick your spot - they’re all awesome! I’ll certainly be back!

This place is incredible! Secluded in a grove of maples. Level spots for tent, trailer or campervan. Awesome fire ring! Outhouse is the nicest I've ever used (I'm a rural kind of guy, so I've used a lot). But a warning - click on directions tab, don't use address in Google maps. We got misdirected about 15 mins away.

Beautiful spot, amongst tall maple trees, close to Marquette. Plenty of room between camp sites and the best/cutest outhouse we've ever incountered. Joy and Brian were amazing hosts. They'vc put a lot of time and effort into making sure their guests have everything they might need.
Brian even put out some cedar shakes to help us start our fire
This was our 1st Hip Camp experience and we will definitely come back!

Owners are awesome as well making sure you have what you need. Was there for the Marji and it was a great quiet quiet respite with great people to chat with.
