We wanted to become a part of that deep history. Through the many years of the resort’s history, the owners had changed and the cabins were showing true signs of their age. We knew there was A LOT of work that simply had to be done. On a wing and prayer, we somehow made this great resort ours. We are near 2 river basins(McClure Basin and Dead River Basin) for fishing, swimming and boating ( kayaks and canoe for rent on this site-see extras! ) We are on the route of the Ore to Shore Mountain Bike epic and not far from the North Country Trail. We have options of open sites and a couple more private wooded sites. There are at least two areas for small campers and several choices for tents and/or hammocks.. There is a communal/central fire pit, picnic table area as well as a larger fire pit with picnic table closer to house. We have nice fire wood available on site -see "extras" or for purchase when you get here! There are yard games, extra chairs and a small table in the red shed. This can also be used as a storm shelter if needed! There is a "port-a-john" on site- extra TP is kept in red shed hanging on nail in a bag. Please let us know if this needs attention.

The living area has light seating area with a twin pull out loveseat, and two recliners. We have kayaks available for use. A small dock. There is some erosion on the bank we are currently working on but no beach, its in the process. Pets are allowed but please do not allow off leash or out of small fenced in area. All pet owners must clean up after your pets outside and if you leave for the day you are responsible for them. I recommend kennel trained as they act completely different and strange place. Ours are the same. Owner is around but can not watch pets as we work full time. I can check for a local teen to provide day care if requested. Breakfast foods will be supplied but there will no cooking provided. If you have special requests for breakfast foods please forward that information one week prior to arrival. There’s a brand new 65” Roku TV in the living room and we have fiber optic wireless internet. We also added a tankless hot water heater so everybody gets a hot shower! We supply a crock pot, blender, drip coffee maker, and all the necessities to cook a meal at home. There’s a nice, large foyer with a bench and a shelf with hooks with plenty of room to store all your coats, bibs, helmets, boots, etc. -Separate rental agreement and security deposit hold required for all reservations.

The basement has 1 bedroom with a king-size bed, a full bathroom, laundry, a ping-pong table, foosball table, dart board, bar area with a kitchenette, a second fridge with freezer, and a walk out to the fire pit. On the front side of the house there is a large mostly covered patio with an outdoor table, chairs, and a charcoal grill. There are so many spaces to gather with friends and family yet still have privacy when you need it. Guests have the entire home to themselves. We do have neighbors so please be mindful of noise and do not wander onto their property. It has a lake view but no lake access from the property.

The space During the summer, our cottage goes from Saturday to Saturday (not required to stay all 7-days). We are adding central air conditioning to the home for the summer of 2021. The second bedroom here is a little odd. It used to be a jacuzzi tub room. The jacuzzi tub was removed, and now there is a bed in there. The room still has a toilet and sink in it. We have added a curtain to block the toilet view from the bed. While it is unusual, we think it is worth keeping to have an extra lavatory for larger groups. The home has a beautiful view (especially for evening sunsets!) overlooking Furnace Lake and is very quiet and peaceful. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do :) Up to 2 dogs are allowed with preapproval, but there is a $75 non-refundable pet fee that will need to be added. Guest access Guests have full access to the home, garage, red outbuilding next to the garage, and yard. The red outbuilding near the road is not available to guests.

The second bedroom here is a little odd. It used to be a jacuzzi tub room. The jacuzzi tub was removed, and now there is a bed in there. The room still has a toilet and sink in it. We have added a curtain to block the toilet view from the bed. While it is unusual, we think it is worth keeping to have an extra lavatory for larger groups. The home has a beautiful view (especially for evening sunsets!) overlooking Furnace Lake and is very quiet and peaceful. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do :) Up to 2 dogs are allowed with preapproval, but there is a $75 non-refundable pet fee that will need to be added. Guest access Guests have full access to the home, garage, red outbuilding next to the garage, and yard. The red outbuilding near the road is not available to guests.

Pictured Rocks Family Rentals welcomes you to The Pines! Quaint lakefront cottage on Furnace Lake. It is conveniently located right off M28 in Christmas, less than 5 miles from downtown Munising, the beginning of the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore. There are 2 bedrooms and 1.5 baths. Our cottage offers 1 king bed, 1 queen bed, and 2 full beds. Come up to enjoy Pictured Rocks & numerous waterfalls in the area. Only 2 blocks from Christmas ORV/snowmobile trailhead. The space During the summer, our cottage goes from Saturday to Saturday (not required to stay all 7-days). We are adding central air conditioning to the home for the summer of 2021. The second bedroom here is a little odd. It used to be a jacuzzi tub room. The jacuzzi tub was removed, and now there is a bed in there. The room still has a toilet and sink in it. We have added a curtain to block the toilet view from the bed. While it is unusual, we think it is worth keeping to have an extra lavatory for larger groups. The home has a beautiful view (especially for evening sunsets!) overlooking Furnace Lake and is very quiet and peaceful. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do :) Up to 2 dogs are allowed with preapproval, but there is a $75 non-refundable pet fee that will need to be added. Guest access Guests have full access to the home, garage, red outbuilding next to the garage, and yard. The red outbuilding near the road is not available to guests.

My brother and I enjoyed our stay on Neal’s land. There were other campers on the property but we never interacted with them. Because we got in late, we never met Neal. The land was right next to a road but it was not a busy road. It was a cheap and nicely located site! I would recommend this site to anyone just looking for a safe night’s sleep (with no amenities)

RV was clean and very well stocked on the inside. Interior looked brand new, and the campsite overlooked a pretty meadow surrounded by trees. Cute S'Mores bucket inside with everything you'd need. Convenient location, was able to do an evening hike to Mosquito Beach from this location. Why stay in a campground and spend thousands of dollars on your own RV when you can just stay here! Highly recommend Captain Ron's for fresh, hand-processed whitefish. Thanks Danielle!

Outhouse is the nicest I've ever used (I'm a rural kind of guy, so I've used a lot). But a warning - click on directions tab, don't use address in Google maps. We got misdirected about 15 mins away.

Beautiful spot, amongst tall maple trees, close to Marquette. Plenty of room between camp sites and the best/cutest outhouse we've ever incountered. Joy and Brian were amazing hosts. They'vc put a lot of time and effort into making sure their guests have everything they might need. Brian even put out some cedar shakes to help us start our fire This was our 1st Hip Camp experience and we will definitely come back!

You have full exclusive access to home and yard. Unfortunately, there is no lake access with the home, but it does have a great view of the lake. We are available by text, through booking message center or phone if you have any questions before or during your stay. Our home is less than a mile from the casino in Christmas, Foggy’s Steakhouse, and a gas station. You are only about 5 miles from downtown Munising, where there are Pictured Rocks Cruises, Glass Bottom Boat Tours, Sand Point Beach, waterfalls, etc. In Munising, there is a grocery store (Pat’s Foods), Family Dollar, a couple of hardware stores, and numerous restaurants. There is room to bring a boat if you have one and there is public access to Lake Superior within 5 miles of home. There is also room to bring snowmobile/ATV trailers, and then you can ride from the home to hit the trails. **Signed rental agreement and security deposit hold required for all reservations. The primary guest will need to upload a picture of a government-issued ID and list names and ages of all other guests in their group. **There are 2 exterior audio/video recording devices on the property. Hello, and welcome to Superior Times Resort and Campground! We would like to take a moment and introduce ourselves. Our names are Tom and Heather Holmstrom. We were married in 2016 and have four children as part of our blended family. We are both originally from the Upper Peninsula. Superior Times and Resort was the result of us wanting to do something “outside of the box” that would allow us to raise our family and showcase our love and respect for the beauty of the Upper Peninsula…the area that many refer to as “God’s Country.”  In December of 2016, we mistakenly pulled into the driveway of this property. At that time, it was known as Coleman’s Paradise Resort. There was a For Sale sign marking the property. We both knew at that point our fate was sealed to become this property’s new owners. We learned that this property had been a family vacation destination for nearly 100 years. We could only imagine the special memories that had been made here over the years! We wanted to become a part of that deep history.Through the many years of the resort’s history, the owners had changed and the cabins were showing true signs of their age. We knew there was A LOT of work that simply had to be done. On a wing and prayer, we somehow made this great resort ours. In April of 2017, we opened what we named Superior Times Resort and Campground. We pulled up or sleeves and went to work! We began this resort’s transformation by replacing nearly all of the roofs. We then added the campground (we are most proud of the campground, as it did not exist prior to our ownership). In the winters we worked on the inside of the cabins, which is what we continue working on to this day. We have completely remodeled 3 cabins; Eagle Harbor, Copper Harbor and Isle Royal. Smaller projects are being continually worked on in the other cabins. Slowly but surely, we are turning this property into our vision. The harsh winter of 2018/2019 led to two roof collapses and even more work!! In 2020, we designed and built rustic bungalows in our campground for nightly rental. Please, take a walk down Backwoods Alley and check them out. In the winter of 2020/2021, we built new custom showers in 3 cabins and replaced the old siding on Eagle Harbor and Copper Harbor. We think the new cedar shakes complete the rustic feel we are aiming for. In the spring of 2021, we added 4 new campsites and built a new bath house for our campers. We also ordered new windows for Tahquamenon Falls and Mackinaw Island, however due to the pandemic we did not receive them in time for installation (insert angry emoji). It has been so rewarding having customers return to this resort and commenting so favorably on the changes we have made! What will 2022 bring? Stay tuned.We could not have done ANY of the resort changes without the help and support of my parents, Roger and Marcia Hart. They sold their own home to live out here full time to be a part of the resort’s transformations. Without them, this dream would not have been possible. They truly define the saying, “labor of love,” as we often can only pay them with love.  Our dream truly became their dream, as well.
