Great private campsite! To find the drive auto look out for two white reflective flags! The drive will go uphill most of the way!

2 nights at Sherman City Acres

The site was perfect! Lots of room for hanging out and the river is only a short walk away. We weren’t planning on a snow storm as we were arriving at the site but the host was super helpful and brought us some dry firewood so we could get our fire started and warm up. If you are looking for a nice quiet campsite with lots of room and plenty of wilderness, this is a great spot. The host was also super responsive to any questions I had prior to our trip. We look forward to checking out some of their other sites this summer.

Weekend Trip to Sunshine Pond View lot 14

We camped in our hard sided pop-up at chris' private, secluded and serene property near Houghton lake for a bit of winter camping. We brought our five year old, and our two friendly pups. Our expectations were far exceeded, and Chris was an awesome host. Listing is accurate, but doesn't do the location justice. Very quiet with lots of wildlife around.

I loved every minute of it, we cooked delicious steaks and ate cinnamon rolls. The stars were gorgeous and river beautiful. Camping but you don’t wanna see RVs and share with a bunch of people? This is the spot. Couldn’t find shovel or bucket provided but that’s okay, the fire grate left there was perfect. Someone left their poop sadly :( but picked it up. Hard to find don’t follow maps just find the named road and look for sign with the word “hip”, took an hour to find because google led us wrong.

What a perfect spot! We had full hook ups so we stayed nice and toasty in November. We loved the solitude, wildlife and of course the river. Exactly what we needed. The spot was very well kept. We want to come back in the summer to enjoy the c river. Our dog enjoyed being off leash too.

The bathrooms, showers, laundry room and commercial kitchen are located at the main lodge which is a short distance away.

We are close to Gladwin, Ross Lake, OHV trails and the Juicy Bone. The river flows into Wixom Lake which is anticipated to be back in 2025. Sandy beach with river access . You can access the river from our canoe portage on the property. Good fishing, swimming or just hanging out. You can also canoe, kayak or tube beautiful Tobacco River or sandy Cedar River. Picnic tables and fire pits are located throughout the property. Good music, games, sing a longs. Hike through the trails to get to the the enchanted cedar forest which is all located in the campground. We have an outdoor 250 inch screen where we project movies, concerts, games, interactive dance videos. For kids and adults, everyone leaves with a smile.

Visit the Northeast Region! Au Gres has few amenities or restaurants, but 20 minutes north Tawas has ample public beaches, dozens of bars and restaurants, a Walmart and other provisions you may want. The Huron National forest outiside of Tawas also has many great hiking trails, ORV trails and more.
