We loved camping at Sandy Fern. It was very private at quiet. We loved it because it was like boondocking, but with full hookups! The site is huge and is a pull through, so no issue getting into it. They also have a wonderful fire pit and horse shoes. We had a great time and highly recommend if you like piece and quiet.

Beautiful secluded spot if you're tired of noisy neighbors! Close to lakes for boating and swimming. We have road bikes. Had two beautiful rides around Torch lake and Chain of Lakes. Very accessible to those spots. Walked up a two track from our site for amazing views of Skegemog lake and beyond. Picked lots of wild berries. 1/2 mile narrow two track to get to our site - a little nerve racking for relative newbies to pulling a trailer with our Subaru, , but worth it.

I loved tent camping here. The host reached out and gave helpful coordinates for entering. He answered questions quickly. The site was kept up well had a table and chairs and a nice fire pit.. Great remote location in a beautiful forest. You can hear the cars on the street but it didn’t bother us. Great towns nearby for exploring! Everything was great and I hope to stay again soon.

Camp Sandyfern completely exceeded our expectations. From firewood to WiFi, everything we needed was right there—and honestly, we weren’t expecting that level of comfort! The hosts were incredibly thoughtful, checking in occasionally via text just to make sure we were doing great. They also provided clear, easy-to-follow instructions that made getting there and settling in a breeze. We stayed for 3 nights and genuinely wish we had booked 5—it was that good. We had a great time and was perfect for what we needed! Thank you so much! Improvments? Maybe a table type thing, but nothing else. It was great! Nature: Flys were annoying this morning. Regular flying and swams of little flys. But we are near some water to explain for that. So, Nothing to be done there. All in all, great hosts! Great spot! Quiet and pretty! Dark enough to see a dusting of the milky way!

Sam was a great host. The property is very nice and secluded. About 25 mins from the downtown strip of Traverse which was convenient for the cherry festival. Campsite had the necessities including a picnic table and fire ring and plenty of space. Will certainly stay here again. Worth it.

Echo Valley Forest Reserve is a backcountry site located deep within the forest near the center of Sleeping Bear National Lakeshore, ten minutes from Empire Beach, Glen Haven, and Glen Arbor. The camp site is completely private, with only party rented to at a time. It is in the center of a 40-acre parcel, surrounded by thousands of acres of National Lakeshore and private forested land. Access is off of a rough seasonal two-track but most 2-wheel drive cars are fine. Watch out for rocks. There are solar lights, a pit toilet, a fire ring, and a ~8x8' deck. There is room for 4 cars, and as many tents as you can set up. We have 4 rules: 1) Leave no trace. Do not leave garbage at camp. DO NOT BURN garbage, people cook in that pit. 2) NO cutting into the live trees. You will get a 0-star review, 100% of the time. 3) Keep cars on the gravel driveway. 4) Put out all fires completely (COLD) and respect any Burn Bans that may be active at the time of your stay. A variety of cuts of meat from our freezers are available for sale or get a tour of the farm ~ Just ask! You may simply enjoy the scene at your leisure.
