My husband and I rented a site here for our anniversary and we had a great time! The owner was very welcoming and super chill!
The showers and restrooms are very clean and smelt good.
We will bring our kids here too since there’s an open area with things for kids to do and places for parents to hang out!
We came up to ride the trails and there are plenty of spots to start that fun!
Thank you, Thomas for being a great host! I’m sure we will be back.

We loved camping at this campground! It was very peaceful and quite beautiful. The only con is that personally, our site was right next to the building in which the fish guts were kept, so it smelled pretty bad most of the time depending on how the wind blew. We weren’t at our campsite much so it was fine, but something to be aware of when selecting tent site #30.

I appreciated the helpful and friendly staff. They have a great store onsite, nice shower houses, a nice game room and a pool. It’s wonderful to have the river on property and just float, swim or fish! It’s also close to a grocery store (which happens to have a Starbucks inside if that’s your jam).
One thing I didn’t like is one half of the park seemed to be long term residents. It just made it feel different for a vacation spot. Additionally the tent campsites are VERY small.

We had an amazing stay at Nellie's Hip Camp with our two kids and two dogs! The property is beautiful with plenty of room to spread out and take in the stunning views. The showers were fantastic—so nice that we skipped using the one in our van and happily walked to the Bin instead.
The owners were incredibly friendly and responsive, making our stay even more enjoyable. Our kids loved the playground, which was such a cool feature built with natural materials. The location is ideal—very close to a camp store and a perfect jumping-off point for exploring Iron Fish, the dunes, and more of Northwest Lower Michigan.
We couldn’t have asked for a better experience and will definitely be back!

We stayed at Winding River Campground at the end of July on site 40. When we first arrived the hookup for the electricity was all the way on the other side of the camper, we called the front desk and they graciously let us borrow an extension cord. The site itself is pretty tight, our 22ft camper fit perfectly, but anything bigger than that would be very tight. It’s right on the betsie river which the kids loved! They floated and played in the river all weekend. Camp bathrooms were ok, water was warm all days but one. We brought bikes but the paths were too gravely to ride on. The campground is very quaint so walking anywhere isn’t bad at all. Used the laundry and that was a nice accommodation. Overall we were very pleased with our stay. It’s not your big chain campground and that’s exactly what we were looking for. Would definitely recommend.

I would ABSOLUTELY camp here again. The (non-electric) lots were level and very private. The bathrooms and showers were clean and well maintained. The only thing I would caution anyone on is that there aren't quiet time hours. However, just remember to pack your earplugs in case there are any unwanted noises!

Well maintained yard with a wide view of farmland. It features a mowed lane that leads to some woods that works great for a dog walk. The Interlochen State Park is just 15 mins. away. The location offers a good view of the night sky with no yard lights nearby.

Extra large sites, great location, and it is easy to see the owner takes pride in their business. Although we didn't use the silo bathroom/bath house it is a big focal point of the gorgeous property. Thank you for creating this amazing space!

Nice and clean campgrounds. The bathrooms and showers were very clean and the water was plenty warm. We added on a few bundles of wood for the fire pit and the price was very reasonable and we were given a large stack of firewood. There is a basketball court and sand volleyball. If you want to play bring your own ball. The volley ball sand area is a bit small and a bit rough, so watch your toes if you play.
Stayed at site #9 which has some nice tree cover and a spot in the back where we were able to hang up our hammock. The walk to the bathroom from this site was quite short. No complaints at all, would stay again!
