Escape to your own 7.4 acre private retreat. Dog friendly, off-grid, with trails, fire pits, shelter, and privacy. This property has its own access with a central open space, surrounded by woods with trails to explore. It features 2 fire pits, a carport shelter with picnic table, pit toilet, and the option to camp or stay in the off-grid cabin. Only 1 booking is allowed at a time, so you’ll have the property entirely to yourself. While the site may appear as 2 separate listings, rest assured once you book, we close the other option to maintain your privacy. Your 2 options: • Book the cabin for a cozy off-grid stay. • Book the campsite and bring your own tent (or approved trailer) for a classic camping experience. • Have a large group? Include the number of guests in your booking (6 guests are included, additional for an extra fee). Or you can reserve both the cabin and campsite together should you desire. Whether you’re looking to hike, stargaze, or just relax, this campsite is perfect for nature lovers seeking solitude and natural beauty. Crystal Mountian is just down the road. The scenic Betsie Valley Trail offers biking and hiking routes, while nearby Crystal Lake in Beulah is perfect for swimming, boating, and fishing. You’ll also find charming local shops and great spots for dinner or drinks in Beulah or the surrounding towns. We have a list of our favorite spots. Platte River Park is less than 10 minutes away for kayak launches, fishing, and hiking trails. Just a block down the road is St. Ambrose Cellars, a great stop for wine, mead, and live music. And at the end of the driveway, you can explore acres of beautiful state land. Want to venture further? In just 20 minutes, you can be at the breathtaking Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore- one of the area's top destinations and a personal favorite. Or take a day trip to Mission peninsula 50 minutes away to enjoy the wine trail and stunning Caribbean like water views.

Base Camp is located near a carport-style shelter that offers protection from the elements — a perfect place to relax in the shade or escape a rainy day. Under the shelter, you'll find a picnic table and a wood-burning stove for cooking or warmth. Nearby, there’s a fire ring for your campfire and a basic pit toilet for convenience. You’re welcome to set up your tent wherever it feels right- the area is spacious and flexible. If you're looking for more solitude, there are walk-in spots on the property that offer a more secluded camping experience, while still giving you access to the shelter. You will have the entire 7.5 acres to yourself. There’s plenty of downed wood around the property that you’re welcome to gather for fires. The neighbor also sells firewood. Important Notes: There is no potable water or water source on the property — please bring your own. A small convenience store is just 5 minutes down the road if you need extra water or last-minute items. This is an off-grid site — no electricity or facilities beyond what's mentioned. Wildlife is active in the area, including coyotes, wolves, porcupines, and occasionally bears (though there have been no recent bear sightings near homes). You’ll also be surrounded by beautiful state land across the street, home to deer, birds, and other native species- perfect for quiet exploration.

This Rustic Off-Grid Retreat is near Sleeping Bear and Wineries/Breweries Tucked among beech trees and eastern hemlocks, is the brand new Hemlock Haven Cabin: a cozy, off-grid escape designed for couples looking to unplug and reconnect with nature. Enjoy evenings by the outdoor wood-burning stove or fire ring and explore nearby wineries/breweries and scenic drives. You’ll be among the first to experience it and help shape what it becomes. There is an outdoor bathroom on the back of the cabin and pit toilet 50 ft away. Please note that this is a rustic experience: • Pack your sleeping bag or favorite warm quilt to sleep with • Pack in/pack out all trash • You are responsible for leaving the place as found. Beautiful secluded woods. Cabin was very clean with a fresh cut wood smell. Very nice to have the carport to cook under since it rained pretty much the entire trip. Pull up couch was perfect to lounge on with a book in the evenings. Memory foam topper on the air mattress made it pretty comfortable. Kerosene heater took the chill out of the air on the 40 degree nights. Plenty of space for the two of us and our Aussie. Lots of little unexpected extras. Dog toys, bowls, and bed, binoculars, candles, lantern, and strategic solar lights outside.

We had a great time. Nice and private. Great location The bathroom and pavalion were very handy. Numerous activities less than an hour away. Lake Michigan, Crystal Lake, Sleeping Bear Dunes, Traverse City, Fishtown and The Leelanau Peninsula Wine Trail. The Betsie Vally bike trail is right down the street, less than 1 mile.

Easy to find, secluded spot for our self contained 12’ pull behind trailer. Outhouse needed spiderwebs maintained.. grounds will be cool with continued maintenance.

Leah's place was great! It was an excellent location. I drive a Honda Civic and had no problem driving into the property. Although I was only there for one night, I would absolutely come back! They had thought of everything - they even had extra dish soap in a drawer and amenities in the outhouse. I was very impressed and enjoyed my one-night stay!

We stayed in our campervan at Base Camp. The shelter and the fire pit were great and we loved walking the trail with our dogs. Leah was very responsive and we would definitely recommend!

This place is a hidden gem. Super peaceful and the shelter came in clutch during the rain—kept the tent totally dry. At night, the stars were insane, like something out of a movie. The trail is covered in ferns and honestly feels magical. I’ll 100% be coming back.

This was there perfect spot for our family. Only 30 mins for sleeping bear dunes, 40 mins from travers city. The site offered shelter for our tents and plenty of trails to explore. The drive is a little rough for a vehicle that rides low to the ground but if you go slow you'll be fine. We will definitely be back

Took my two kids (5 & 2) tent camping on Leah's property for the first time. They had a blast eating at the picnic table under the pavilion (in the shade) and cooking in the firepit. Firewood was provided which was a nice treat and there were no mosquitoes when we were there! Overall, very private, lots of space, and loads of memories. Thanks Leah!

We used this spot as a base camp to explore the area and it went great. We had options on where to put up out tent, and we could use the carport shelter for meals and hanging out. There are multiple fire circles and an outhouse is pretty good condition. The driveway is rough, so go slow, and go slow approaching the driveway as it's easy to miss the address marker. It looks like they working on what will be a really cute little cabin in the future. We couldn't find the marked trails but I assume they just need to do some clearing of overgrowth. We'll probably book this location again. Quiet and nice.

We had a wonderful experience tent camping at Rustic Pines. The site was easy to find, well marked, and a quick drive from beautiful nature in Sleeping Bear Dunes. We especially appreciated the privacy of the site and how peaceful it was, amazing for the dogs and us to unwind and relax. We'd recommend Rustic Pines to friends, family, and all outdoor lovers looking for a place to stay.
