Sleepy Acres is a wonderful spot tucked away in the trees! Titus was a wonderful host. He and the Kitties and sheep greeted me when I arrived. His farm is a special spot for a quiet camping experience! There were many birds to enjoy in the morning before departing. I hope to make it back again!

What a wonderful cabin! We only stayed one night as we passed through town and it rained the whole time. But as cabins go, to wait out storms or to rest comfortably, Titus's is top notch. We particularly enjoyed the small woodstove!

Titus responded very fast to questions and the property is immaculate. We were right next to a horse pasture and the sound of the fountain at night was all we could hear. The cell service was good enough to use a hotspot for streaming. All around wonderful place to stay.

Weekend Trip to Sheepy Acres

Very peaceful camping trip on titus' sheep farm. The 2 cabins and 2 tent sites are private no matter which one you choose. I would recommend this to anyone looking for some peaceful and private camping

Very hospitable and kind hosts. Titus went out of the way to make sure our stay was comfortable. My kids enjoyed playing with the kittens and watching the chickens and sheep. We couldn’t stay very long but we would love to come back and swim in the pond next trip.

Really unique spot! Easy to find with Hipcamp directions. Titus was super welcoming. He met us at the barn, gave a quick tour, and led us to the site by golf cart. Hawk Roost was private, shaded, and clean. The tent pad barely fit our large tent but worked fine. We loved the wood chips around camp to keep it dry. Bathrooms were clean, potable water was about 100 yards away, and firewood was generously provided. He even delivered more during our stay when we needed it. It is a working pasture with sheep, so expect some strong smells and poop throughout the trails and camp roads. It didn’t bother us, but it’s worth noting. Our dog had the time of her life running around off-leash in the fenced-in pasture and having stare-downs with the sheep. There was some distant noise like sirens and machinery, but otherwise it was peaceful and full of birdsong. We would absolutely come back, especially with a group. It’s a great mix of rustic and thoughtful.

We had the best family weekend thanks to Melissa, and this great stay! She was so caring and kind, I had some fear of being late when arriving because we were heading up after work and she offered to light our tikis for us, we also were welcomed by beautiful flowers and a cute welcome sign.

My family and i really enjoyed this location. Not sure if it was the time of year but we had run off the whole place. We stayed at camp 1 that gave us direct access to the shared doc but recommend site 3 of your looking for a more secluded space. The host was very attentive, shared local places to check out and shared firewood. While a local road was near, the loudest things around was the turkey somewhere in the distance. As a note that was not loud at all. We will absolutely plan a return trip and suggest this place.

This was our second stay at Song Fog Meadow and we loved it as much as the first. Easy to book, easy to find, convenient to several major highways, and this lovely spot is near the end of a dead end country road so it feels very private. It’s likely we’ll be back on another of our long haul camper journeys.

This place was wonderful. You have the option to choose from 2 camp sites when you arrive, one located on a little island, the other is further up the hill in the back. We chose the hill in the back because it had been raining and figured the island would be too wet. I love that it was only us. Very private and plenty of space. Will definitely come back during the summer when the trees have bloomed a bit more and try out the island campsite for some fishing and relaxation.

For a total of 13 options. 2Chicks And A Farm is a small working farm on 20 acres. 15 minutes from South Haven and the lake. 30 minutes from the city of Kalamazoo. And just under an hour from Grand Rapids. About half of the 20 acres is wooded, which is where three of our camp sites are located. Each one has a fire ring and wooden picnic table. One site, capable of taking a mid sized RV / Fifth Wheel, is located on the front of the property with easy access from the road. It backs up to some trails and and brush / wood area and has a corn field to the right. So, even though on the front on the property, you have a feeling of privacy. It too has a fire pit and wooden picnic table. Three camp sites are located in the pasture. One is at the bottom of the pasture and quite open. It can accommodate larger groups with multiple tents. A more secluded half open and half in light woods., and is located at the top of the pasture. Then another in the middle of the pasture, one for sun lovers and one for those who prefer more shade. For those who prefer more seclusion, we have cleared three sites in the woods. All sites have a fire ring, or metal fire pit, and wooden picnic table. Some have fire wood boxes (we’re working on making a box for all sites). We have an outdoor propane shower that provides both hot and cold water. This is free. A coffee bar is on the back deck. Coffee is brewing around 7am. We also provide hot water, teas, hot chocolate and cider. Feeling a little peckish before breakfast, or after dinner? Help yourself to a snack. This is all free, though small donations are welcomed. Our goats, poultry, pigs, and dogs and produce take up about an acre and a half. Then the rest is open space. You are welcome to collect eggs for breakfast and fresh produce from our gardens (additional fee). Use the BBQ or smoker. And even join in on farm chores if you are so inclined. Please try to plan to check-in by 9pm. Exceptions can be made. There are locally mandated quiet hours (10-7 Sun through Thur, and 11-7 Fri and Sat). Hanging out by a fire and chatting is fine.

Songdog Meadows

Home Sweet Home, tucked in the heart of agriculture and lake life, Angola is a wonderful small town in the north east corner of Indiana. Songdog Meadows is our little piece of joy, from morning swims in the pond, long walks with our retrievers and sunsets to take your breath away, it is truly and deeply a treasure we cherish. The property host a variety of apple trees, open grass land, and a large cluster of trees surrounding a 3/4 acre pond, while being surrounded by wood lots on three sides and open fields to the west. It is truly a peaceful haven in a rural country area. Learn more about this land:Hang your hammock or pitch a tent just outside our 3/4 acre pond. There are two basins with a channel and a peaceful tree filled grass area between. The pond is in the corner of the 10 acre lot where we live at the end of a dirt road with only a small amount of traffic. The camp site is walk in on mowed pathways, with the driveway and parking area less than 200 yards away. There is a security light so you will never be in complete darkness. A stone fire pit and picnic table sit just off shore of the swimming area of the pond. There are several wide mowed pathways surrounded by prairie grasses, shaded by large trees. The area can easily handle several tents, hammocks and small RVs. The area is rural farm land with a handful of houses on the short dirt road. But this property is surrounded by wood lots and open fields. Two neighbors houses are visible but separated by trees. Our house is visible from the pond and camping area.

Have A Lake Of Your Own!

The property was originally owned by a family name Nichols (thus the name of the lake). It was handed down to the sons who each owned half the property. The driveway down the middle of property that leads to the lake was originally a fence line that divided the two pieces of property. The brothers did not get along and their are several stories of their warring on how to maintain the property.My parents bought this piece of property in 1964 and created a camp called "Lakeside Farm Camp", a small all boys camp. The camp has gone through several changes since then but has always been owned by the Edwards family. In 1984 the name was changed to "Cedar Lodge" a coed camp that specializes in English horseback riding and offering high level general camp activities. Enjoy the peace and quiet of our totally private fresh water lake. Take your boat out for a day of fishing or just chill next to the fire. Sites are approximately 50 feet from each other. Your tent site is located on the back of our 18 acre farm and you have your own private lane to access the campsite. We are located next to a designated dark sky area so the stargazing is fantastic! Plus wildlife is abundant including our two Sandhill cranes that live on the pond. Dr Lawless Park is a designated DARK SKY and is located 1/4 of a mile away. This park has fantastic mountain biking and hiking so bring your bikes to enjoy a good ride! There is space to park your boat for use on the local lakes. Birch Lake is absolutely gorgeous and makes for a great kayak ride. Enjoy fishing or water sports on local Diamond or Donnell Lakes located within a few minutes of our farm.
