Hunt’s Hillside Vineyards

The owners are very friendly and made sure I had what I needed. The site was very clean but I had a few issues with the site. It's very close to the main road and you're hear road noise all night long, I am aware that it is a working farm but there was a lot of clutter and junk all around the site clearly visible, and lastly, they had honey bees and I'm allergic and it made me very nervous. Although the bees did not bother me, they were just buzzing around and it' wasunnerving

Quiet, 10 min ride to downtown PawPaw. No mosquitos. Great concert venue downtown that has a creek running between the general admission standing room in front of the stage and the pricier seats in the back.

While it’s ultimately my fault for not fully looking at all the pictures to realize this camp site was right next to a public road, across the street from a neighborhood of houses and offering very little privacy from both, it was still a shock to me that this wouldn’t even exist. Being a single mom camping with her young son we didn’t feel safe, or relaxed. Everyone that drove by could see us and our tent. On top of that the price is $50 to camp next to a road and neighbors seems high. We camp all the time and it just wasn’t worth that much. Also, ants. So many ants. The hosts were very friendly in their commutations and did send an email prior to arrival and after our first day to check on us.

Ok, but overpriced

The campsite is quite expensive for what you get. It is a small spot on the side of a road, with just plastic netting for privacy between the road and tent site. The houses across the street have outdoor lights decorating them that are on all night. The site itself has a fire ring, picnic table, trash can, and water (non-potable) for fire safety. The outhouse (which had not TP when we were there) is about 1/4 mile away. There is firewood for sale, but no water on site. We felt like it was ok, but somewhat overpriced for what we got.

Unique destination camping site

Unique location nestled in the grapes. Very quiet at night. Easy parking next to site. Short walk to porta-potty. It did not smell but could have used an emptying. The foot pump water tank was empty. There was soap, but sanitizer would have been better without available water. We bought wood on site. $5 per bundle and used 4 bundles. It wasn’t split logs but pieces a few inches in diameter that burned quickly. Nice fire ring and picnic table and a bonus to have a trash can at our site. There’s no shade which was fine for us. It was a nice stay for the night at the Concord site.

Perfect Spot

It was the perfect spot. We were greeted by CJ and shown to our site and the rest was easy. Very unique and really cool place to stay. Close to breweries and wineries. Extremely quiet and peaceful during the day and at night. The spot we stayed is nestled between rows of grape vines.

A nice, different experience

This is a beautiful site. It’s a little more public than what we had envisioned with the highway on one side but that didn’t bother us too bad. It has a black plastic wall to shield the view of the house (about 50 yards away), greenhouses towards the sunset, and the farm implements that were close, but looking out over the vineyards was beautiful. Hilary was so nice and greeted us when we arrived and offered any help we needed. We walked all through the vineyards and that was really nice. It was our first time staying at a vineyard and really enjoyed it. The fire ring and picnic table were nice and the spot was pretty level. It was very easy to get to and find. And the portable toilet was nice for us when needed.

We were very happy with this campsite for 2 nights! The campsite was private with a picnic table and fire ring. Hillary was responsive and greeted us upon arrival. We also picked fresh strawberries on their property. I brought my dog, and she was able to roam around our campsite safely. We’d definitely stay again if we’re in the area!

Overnight trip to Kalamazoo

The site was very clean and welcoming! Easy to find even at night and the fire pit + picnic table were great to have. Good privacy from the other campsites, and the PortaPotty was a short hike away. We stayed here after spending the day in Kalamazoo, would definitely recommend!

VINEYARD CAMPING IN MICHIGAN!

Hilary’s spot at the vineyard was beautiful. Sunset on the vineyard was so quiet and serene. Walking around in the morning with our pup was delightful. Bathroom is a port-a-john which sufficed but if need be there is a gas station 5 minutes away that had one of the cleanest gas station bathrooms I’ve ever used. Also slept in our tent without the rain fly and got to look at all the stars while we fell asleep. Hilary was such a hospitable host offering us additional fire wood if we ran out and even popped over for a quick visit to say hi. Highly recommend to anyone.

Peaceful vineyard stay w/ pup!

Very peaceful vineyard with well-kept campsites. Each site comes with a fire pit, picnic table, and trash bin. I'd recommend the Concord site based on the better location. Hilary and CJ are very nice hosts and worked with us for an early check-in. We came with a dog and had no problems letting her roam within the property, respecting the vineyard of course.

The smell of the grapes every morning was our favorite part of the trip. Beautiful site throughout the vineyard with wonderful and attentive a host. Fresh cut flow bouquets we available for purchase with vases for our guest. You pick strawberries on site. Wonderful time!!!

Camping between the vines!

The place is very unique. They have only 3 camp sites on the property which makes it very secluded and private. To wake up between the vines is one of the most remarkable experiences that I ever had. Plus if you are looking for a spot to take great pictures, that’s the destination for it. The only tiny minus is that they don’t have running water there. So, no option to take a shower or wash anything that you need to. Recommend to bring extra water with you especially if you are going to spend there more than just one night.outside of this little thing, I highly recommend this place!

Camping among the vines!

We chose site 1 and we were pleased that we did. Though it closer to the road, it was the site with lovely large trees to cast shade. The site was well maintained and clearly defined. There were wood bundles for purchase nearby and a bucket of water to douse the fire. The portapotty was a couple of minutes walk but was easily located. A screen was up between the site and the road. The area was quiet at night and we enjoyed a quiet walk in the vineyard. We car camp in our van. Despite the recent rain the site was well drained and the path was not muddy.

Nice spot to stop during long trip

Nice place to stop and camp for the night as part of a long trip to eastern Canada from the Midwest. The region is wooded and is a beautiful drive from I-94. You camp on short grass in between rows of grapevines with plenty of space for your car and tent. A porta-potty is available nearby.
