Tree huggers unite! This is the promised land. Consisting of two separate forests, the wooded bastions of Mother Nature rise tall and strong in these parts. Each tree is beautiful in its own way, but perhaps no trunk is better for squeezing than those in the 200-year old white pine grove in the Whittemore Recreation Area of the Peoples Forest.
One can only hug so many trees, however, so it’s a good thing there are lots of other things to do in the American Legion and Peoples State Forests. The trails that wind through these wooded acres will keep hikers on their feet for days on end. And the waters of the wild and scenic West Branch of the Farmington River attracts kayakers and fishers from all over Connecticut and even neighboring states. In addition to our cozy cabin we also offer a stay in the bunk house attached to the barn. The bunk house is on the lower part of the pond, making it more accessible as parking is right at the door.
There are private camp sites for guests who prefer to pitch a tent or park their van or RV. There's a portable toilet on site seasonally for guests staying on the lower half of the farm.

Our 2 acre property and house is located in the center of the small town of Leverett. We have two sites, a private camping spot located down by the stream, and a yurt at the edge of the yard. We are near a paved road with moderate traffic.
The property abuts many acres of woods and there are a number of great walking trails nearby. A half-mile walk behind the house takes you through the forest to an outlook on Leverett Pond.
The Peace Pagoda is just a few miles up the road. Other nearby destinations include Cushman Market and Cafe, the Montague Bookmill, and Mt. Toby waterfall, caves, and lookout tower.
Leverett Pond has a public boat launch nearby. We have canoes, paddles, and lifejackets available for rent--inquire for details!

We are a small family farm where we raise animals and grow flowers/food. Our family home was built in 1739 and is situated near the street entrance.
As you enter the property, you will see two cottages, the oldest corn crib in the county, and a beautifully restored 1800s barn. There is a vintage-style camper to the left of the barn, located in an area where you can have privacy overlooking the pastures.
We live on the property and can assist guests with anything that they might need.

Please note, that we ask that guests do not enter the barn or fenced pasture without one of the farm owners (Molly & Diego). Our animals are accustomed to people, but livestock is unpredictable, especially to people that they do not know. There is plenty of area outside of the pasture that guests can enjoy. If you opt for a farm tour we promise that you will have plenty of interaction with our many animals.

Listen to the gentle brook and barred owls while nestled into the woods of Ashfield, MA on a small herbal homestead. The forest hut is a screened in platform that is lovely for camping on a warm summer's night. It has large windows and screens to keep out the bugs while enjoying a cool mountain breeze. There is a newly built composting toilet on site and small fire pit. This is not a cabin, no electricity, running water or plumbing. It is not well suited for winter camping unless you’re well equipped.

our second time visiting the cabin was as magical as the last. The weather was beautiful the breeze was just right and mistys hospitality was unmatched and communication was a breeze.
The only downside in the summer is the bugs which as you can expect in the summer can get brutal when the sun goes down and the breeze is no longer blowing. perfect time to visit here is spring or fall or even winter when you can cozy up to the fire and not worry so much about the bugs. we love this cabin and look forward to it being part of a new tradition for our family of 3

We loved our stay at Salamander Hollow. An absolute gem 💎 ✨️. The property has so much to explore, Mary is responsive throughout the stay making sure everything is in order. We went during a heatwave and even in 90° it was enjoyable to stay in the library. You can feel the love and care that shows in this place. When dusk settled in, we were surrounded by fireflies 🪰💡. Beautiful land. Wonderful host. Lovely farm animals. Absolute 10/10 stay. Notably for future campers, the bell tent is in the corner of a field, meaning no shade until 2-3pm and our stay was during a heatwave. We were out and about for these hours so it didn't affect us but it may be worth toting in a shade structure.
