For July 4th weekend, and Labor Day weekend drive-up sites are a 2 night minimum. In the off season starting after Thanksgiving through April, there is no water or toilet or shower facilities available. The solar shower and water lines may be shut off any time in October if freezing conditions prevail. Please check with us. Our 75 acres is a wonderful, diverse mix of habitat, harmoniously integrated with our small farm. This land was the homestead of the very first non native settler of the area, John Wiley, in 1787. Before that, it was the land of the Mahican native Americans. They named it "valley of the butternut trees", or Wyomanock. The Wyomanock Creek is the backbone of this little valley. Beaver have dammed the creek at several points to create ponds and other wetland features that support a diversity of wildlife including otter, moose and a myriad of birds, from osprey to herons. This sanctuary is host to many uncommon native plants and plant communities. We would love to share it with you! Your host, Thom, invites you to property to explore 75 acres of meadows, woods and water. Choose one of several sites either in the woods or open areas. You are also free to use our outdoor solar shower or take a dip in the cold pond or artesian spring fed pool. Our location is convenient to the Berkshire Mountains, state parks, hiking and other attractions, including Ramble Wild tree to tree adventures and Jiminy Peak. Well off the beaten track, it's scenic, private and peaceful. Camping at Moon In The Pond Farm is a bit of heaven. There are separate sites to choose. Around the farm, you have your own secluded spot to enjoy. (Though you may be in a field next to our Scottish Highland cattle!) Two are tent sites: the PondSide and the FieldEdge. There's one site for small/tiny RVs or Campervan. And finally there's the HiddenCabin--a bed a roof and convenience. Each has a firepit with a small grill to cook over the fire. (all firewood provided) Our campsites are in quieter areas of the farm. One overlooks the pond, others are on the edges of different farm fields, one a cabin nearer the farmstead. All require a beautiful, bucolic trek of 150-350 yards from the roadside parking--ensuring the quiet, natural experience. During the day times, you may see or hear farm work. At night it's lusciously dark and serenely quiet. You'll hear owls hoot, frogs croak, crickets chirp, foxes yowl and coyotes howl! In June and July the fields and trees light up like Christmas with fireflies, and you'll see the stars. During the week is the absolute best time--the local hot spots (or cooling down spots!) are much quieter, and all our campsites have reduced weekday rates. If you can, take advantage by adding a Thursday or Sunday night to a weekend stay. We've got an awesome, easy hiking trail on adjacent Nature Conservancy land. It meanders through woodlands, around rock ledges, through wetlands (on a 600' of boardwalk) and ends at a beautiful stream and pond with a gigantic beaver dam. Not far from here are numerous well-marked hiking trails (including the Appalachian Trail (with famous Bash Bish Falls) and several offshoots (Sage's Ravine, Race Brook Falls), Bartholomew's Cobble, Umpacheenee Falls, and others). Also in the neighborhood are opportunities for canoeing, kayaking, swimming, rock climbing, gavel-road and country-road biking, and pretty much any outdoor activity/adventure opportunity. Or... you can just chill and relax, sleep, or read the day away! Love food? This is Farm-to-Table for real! Never so close--the table's AT the farm! Bring your cooking gear and get some of our wicked fresh organic food--veggies, chops, sausages, eggs, bacon, granola, yogurt, etc. Sear yourself up a real treat! Very nearby, as the Berkshires is a cultural mecca, there are also numerous opportunities from many great restaurants to art, dance, music, spas, galleries, antique shops, museums, cafes and much more. It's still amazingly quiet at the farm where the Milky Way is clearly visible.

Lake Taghkanic is a great place for both summer and winter stays, with plenty of tent campsites as well as cabins and cottages, and a variety of activities to do year round. For winter folks, there's cross-country skiing and snowmobile trails, as well as ice skating and ice fishing areas, and plenty of fire pits to warm those chilly bones. For summer lovin', there are two beaches, so if someone kicks sand in your potato salad (accidentally, of course), you can just go to another beach and pretend like it never happened. The only sleeping quarters that are on the water are some of the cottages in the West End Cottage Area, so if you're planning on playing Beach Party Bingo, plan accordingly or be willing to walk a bit from your tent or cabin.

Tree huggers unite! This is the promised land. Consisting of two separate forests, the wooded bastions of Mother Nature rise tall and strong in these parts. Each tree is beautiful in its own way, but perhaps no trunk is better for squeezing than those in the 200-year old white pine grove in the Whittemore Recreation Area of the Peoples Forest. One can only hug so many trees, however, so it’s a good thing there are lots of other things to do in the American Legion and Peoples State Forests. We are 10 minutes away from Cherry Plain State Park (which has a gorgeous lake and kid-friendly sandy beach), and even closer to the Taconic Crest Trail. Our location is nestled between the Taconics of New York, the Green Mountains of Vermont, and the Berkshires of Massachusetts. Come share our paradise, bring your outdoor adventurer gear (you will be glad you did) and we will share our favorite local destinations with you. We ask that all hipcampers who are primary guests be 21 years of age or over. Children are welcome but we will not knowingly rent to anyone under 21 years of age. The cabin served as the perfect home base for our trip to surrounding outdoor recreation (hiking, biking, climbing are all around!). We felt secluded but also safe. Hosts were friendly and kind but also gave us our space. Best outhouse ever and the fairy houses were an added bonus. We regret not staying longer to checkout Shelburne Falls and perhaps just spend a day unwinding at the cabin with its great view and peaceful vibes. Just means we will have to be back soon!

Weekend Trip to Beavertides Farm

What a unique, absolutely incredible glamping experience!! Secluded in what I can only describe as a magical secluded meadow surrounded by wildflowers, tall trees, grazing horses and a donkey, a friendly cat, it truly feels like it’s only little world. Could not have had a better experience, truly disconnected, relaxed and recharged. Marleen is a wonderful host and so helpful. She truly loves her farm and sharing it with those who visit, if you are so inclined. Personally I highly recommend the fresh farm breakfast and farm tour add ons. Also absolutely check out their meat selection from animals on their farm. I cooked the best ribeye of my life over a campfire on a cast iron skillet. The tent itself is cute, cozy, and comfortable. We slept soundly in the king sized bed, napped on the large L-shaped couch, made tea with the electric kettle, and eggs and vegetables on the small electric Induction stovetop. While Marleen provides all you may need, the more you plan ahead for your own comfort the better! Your preparation will only add to what is already provided as an incredible experience. I cannot describe the feeling of warm mornings on the porch sipping herbal tea, moonlight filling the meadow and a silver horse grazing in front of you, a campfire crackling just yards from your luxurious tent. Could not recommend more. This is not just camping or even glamping, it is truly a unique, magical, wonderful experience.

🤩 Wow! Next time I’d like to explore these trails because it’s going to take a couple days. The property is huge. If you’re having guest not from the East Coast, I’d come here to have them visit to get the true taste of New England here.

Weekend Trip to Glamping on an Herb Farm

We had such a beautiful stay. Abby sent very helpful and accurate directions ahead of time and we had no trouble finding the site. The tent was very comfortable and the view amazing. We made a fire in the contained fire pit and roasted hotdogs and s'mores. The air was so fresh, no light pollution made for great stargazing, and we enjoyed taking a peek at what was growing at the farm. We didn't get to try walking on any of the nearby trails, but we really enjoyed exploring downtown (would recommend the Bridge of Flowers, Potholes, and the Trolley Museum!)

2 nights at Upper Shire Campsites Hudson Valley

This site was the PERFECT place to camp with two little ones (1 and 4). We had a wonderful time hiking nearby at Bish Bash falls and then making dinner and s'mores in the evening. Having the showers and toilet close by was great for my little ones. And it was such a bonus that we didn't have to set up the tent ourselves. We also got some cute visitors: 3 little bear cubs, so make sure to lock up your food! Joanna was such a great host with wonderful communication and very generous with her time. Can't wait to come back.

1 night at Cherry Plain Sanctuary Farm

It was a wonderful experience staying in a real tipi and cooking a meal over the fire. There was plenty of wood and kindling, and the bedding/camping gear was adequate. I do think the hosts could have explained that the top flap should be opened when using the fire, as otherwise the tipi gets quite smokey. As an older guest, I also found the dampness from the pebble flooring noticeable, so I would recommend being prepared for that. One other helpful note (for guests with a dog) would be clarification about the livestock guardian dog in the goat pen. He may look like he can come over to the tipi, but he actually cannot get out of the enclosure. Overall, it was a unique and memorable experience that I would recommend to others.

Weekend Trip to Hucklebuck Railway Campsites

Had an amazing weekend reset at the East Campsite!!!!! Paula and Bill were very quick to respond and so helpful! The site was very well put together and had everything you could possibly need a toilet, water for showering, dishes, a Coleman cooler, a shaded picnic table, a lamp, speaker by coleman, even a fan…. you name it, they had it! And they even provided free firewood! 🔥 This place is truly magical. My dogs absolutely loved it, and we had such a cozy, relaxing weekend. 🐶❤️ We’ll definitely be back!
